- The historic LANE BRIDGE, built by Vulcan Road Machine Charles Town WV in 1892. I was told this is only One of Two Bridges made of Rail Road IRON exist one in West Virginia one in Vermont? made of Oak and recycled Rail Road Iron track. It's a Travel experience is your brave to drive there, no gas, rest rooms or food near by.
That bridge is now abandoned, still there for sight seeing, but they have built a second bridge so its easier to get through.
The water had just came down, I found the area great and Historical, Please Keep your History Alive, Keep that wonderful old bridge in use. You don't know what you got till you loose it
My son grew up in Back Creek. I've driven across that bridge several times.
Nice to hear from you, We miss WV badly as we moved to California and are sorry we moved here. The weather is great but the people are the rudest in the United States. Thank You for writing, Do you know if the bridge is still standing? I heard they had planned to demo it
@@KromaArtazen I haven't been there in several years. I can't imagine them tearing down that bridge. It was pretty sturdy the last time I was there.
@@KromaArtazen The bridge is still there, but they built a new bridge right next to it and it is no longer open to traffic. I was glad to see they decided to keep it intact.
My wife made them aware of the Historic Value. Thank You for the update
The water's up and muddy. Must have poured. This is right down the road from me!
You ever fish back creek? If so, could you give me some of your top baits? I’d appreciate it.

This Bridge is now protected by State and Federal Laws as being historical (only 2 left standing in the world build from recycled railroad Iron). Are you an engineer graduate? An engineering student? or a Historical Scholar? please provide proof of your allegation within the week or remove you comment please.
