Another great video, Denise. I think I stayed at that campsite in the past. I definitely stopped there on my way Thru this year. I found a can of fuel there. Its a small trail. Awesome Bear Bag skills, Catch you on the road.
This is by far exactly what I was looking for, your content is so genuine. I have always dreamed of cycling the C&O to Cumberland, and now we're the initial stages of planning a full trip from Pittsburgh to DC. I'm a former DC native, now stuck in dreary New England and loved seeing you ride through DC in the first vid. Gonna sound old here, but I remember back in the '90s hanging in Dupont Circle with the bike messengers and riding everywhere as an early bike commuter before all the protected lanes. My partner and I used to ride out to Great Falls, most of the ride hasn't chaged much over the decades as far as I can tell from your vids, but the city seems almost alien ( I left about 10 years ago). We're gonna take a longer trip and explore more, probably stretch it out to two weeks and explore all the interesting towns and historic sites. Thanks for the content.
great videos, cant getting fired up for my spring C&O/GAP trip .. couldn't help but feel kinda bad that you have the PawPaw detour coming up...that one was tuff in the august heat plus it tricked you into thinking it was over only to turn a bit and up some more :)
Thanks! You’re gonna have such a great spring trip. I contend that the LONG switchback on the Paw Paw detour is worse than the short steep burst climb on the other side.
These videos are great! Have a couple questions. How did you learn where the campsites/towns are to possibly rent a room are? Is there a website or something dedicated to navigating this trip? How did you know where to go at the detours? I’m from pittsburgh, would you recommend going from pgh to dc or dc to pgh? I’m going to have more questions. Thank you in advance!
Very nice video. But one correction at 6:25. You say "Dam 3" when you were at Dam 4. You probably didn't realize you had passed Dam 3 (near Harpers Ferry) because there's no sign for it and its ruins require a bit of imagination. If you return, it's worth seeing though because the remnants are still there and the locks nearby are unusual.
Oh man, you’re right. I thought we were closer to Harper’s Ferry for our lunch spot. Dam 4 was pretty spectacular. When I get back to that area, I’ll definitely explore Dam 3 remains.
Love your videos! I am in the planning stages of the Ohio to Erie and hope to someday do Pitt to DC. Two questions What handlebar bag is your friend running in the C&O videos? When are you going to upload the rest of the Ohio 2 Erie?
Thanks Michael. I can’t recommend those trails enough! Amazing experiences. To answer your questions: Katie is rocking an Ortlieb Handlebar Bag. Took a break from UA-cam but back at it and just posted Day 5. The rest of the trip coming soon.
Thank you for creating this content, Denise. I really enjoy your adventures and always look forward to your next video.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks. I appreciate that. Glad you dig the content. The next video will be my toughest day on the trail.
Brings back memories from my spring trip. So much beauty there.
YESSSS! There sure is.
How lovely for you to have received that lunch food. That's so nice. Beautiful trail, stunning views!
On my gosh yes. The Adventure Cycling folks were amazing! Great day, great people!
Gotta love trail magic!

Thanks! It’s always interesting the finds at the hiker biker sites. See ya out there! Cheers.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I hope you are able to get back there do the whole thing. If I do it again, i’d stretch it out too.

Another great video! Really enjoying your journey on the C&O and GAP. Looking forward to Day 4.
Thanks. Glad you’re digging it so far.
Looking forward to watch. I'm planning to continue this trail all away to Pittsburgh next summer and good to know what's ahead 👍🙂
Thanks for the video
Big Slackwater is very cool section of the C&O.. It feels like you are flying over the River
It really does. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the C&O!
What time of year did you do the C&O Canal trip?
September and it was perfect weather!
Just subbed great video
