I'm sure, folk will agree with me, watching Brian's vlog is just like catching up with a good friend and listening to their last few days over coffee. Not everyone on U tube has the ability to make you feel so welcome and genuine.
The support of Movember is so important. For all of us know someone who suffers from Mental health issues. But a lot of Men struggle so much with admitting it , to get help. So thanks friend, we all enjoy your trips around France and your daily life. Crack on.😘👍

"It's a thing that needs looking after." I very much like that. My daughters and I were involved in someone else's suicide on the freeway, so I know about PTSD and panic attacks quite well. It was very dark, and the man had walked onto the freeway somehow and into the fast lane where I was driving 65 MPH. He died instantly. We were checked by the hospital for injuries from the impact, such as glass from the windshield (it went everywhere, even in our mouths), and cuts, bumps and bruises, and were able to go home afterwards. That was in 2010, and we all still suffer the effects from that horrific night. You're right, there isn't much we can do about it except to acknowledge the awfulness that is anxiety, and do our best to breathe through it. Thank you for sharing such a personal experience with us. I'm glad you were also physically okay as well. Big hugs all around.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see you three doing that. Dan kept it so low key on the way, I was shocked when you actually started down that very scary, ephemeral trail that looked like it was made by a squirrel. Oh and of course, it was also covered in ice. I was already in awe with the hanging off the sides of the chateau. I was completely blown away and so proud of you, especially orange pants man, for facing your fears for such a good cause, which of course was to save your beard, lol. Astonishing! 🧡

Brian that is very good of you to talk about panic and anxiety attacks. A young high school girl walked off the curb at a intersection in front of my car, luckily I had just pulled off in first gear but still managed to knock her over my bonnet what a fright I got she was not injured just shock up. At the hospital when her parents met me thought they were going to yell at me, instead her mom just turned around and said ' her daughter was lucky, but I will remember it for the rest of my life' and she was right. I get so anxious when I see anyone on the side of the road walking on the sidewalk and especially kids. Congratulations on an epic Movember event. Thanks for taking us around the yard while mowing and chatting to us it was lovely hanging out with you. Have a great day. By the way I am very glad that you were not injured in that car accident.

Brian, had a similar experience, over 15 years, I toughed it out, going from occasional panic attacks that lasted a minute or two, but getting worse over time, then my mother died, and I had full blown attacks, By then going to the Doctors to get help was an ordeal, buying groceries next to impossible taking the subway a horror show, driving next to impossible. After a few tests to make sure it was anxiety....he gave me a prescription for a beta blocker.......5 years without even one attack, total liberation. So I understand your situation......don't wait till you get as bad as it was for me. Cheers

Its in epidemic proportions these days for sure so we are all coping or not coping with various levels of anxiety. I broke my back in July trying to save my dog from being killed by a bigger dog. My worste nightmare of being unable to help my little mate. We survived with much kind support over these last months but i still get anxious and hsve to breathe and i cry a bit more and then laugh at stupid stuff like my idiot self. Hats off to you all for the climb. But.. to be quite honest... I was hoping more for some kind of blackmail / bribery scenario, where once a donation target is reached, someone shaves off one side of the beard, then the other, then some more gets donated, then off comes the moustache, with incremental targets from Calvin, yourself, Dan and the ultimate implausibly costly target of Nic. Would have been wild and probably hilarious. Hey, it grows back.
    Anyway, power to your elbow.
And folks, spare a thought for those with ADHD. Diagnosed at 64. Now I understand why life is so expletive deleted difficult.

So soothing, at a time (elections tomorrow in the US) that I could really use it. I was glad to hear your story about the tedium of having a recurrent health issue, especially contrasted with how you were able to laugh about the one that took you to the drive and a piece of dog culture. ;) It's possible (can't guess how likely) that you had a tiny brain disruption from being shaken around in the accident. Our brains' immune systems (which are separate from our bodies' immune systems) can get excited over a tiny thing, such as brains being shaken, or a bad allergy day or some gluten and suddenly, your brain's immune system is running around, poking at things and looking to stick a pile of antigens on anything wonky. The inflammation that comes with this slather of antigens is sufficient to trigger emotions that are completely unrelated to what's actually going on, but fear and/or depression are common. I suspect that you can guess why I know about this issue and that some of us in this tiny cafe will recognise that my description isn't precise, and maybe not particularly accurate. ;)

I’m so glad that acknowledging & talking about mental health issues is becoming more acceptable & more common, for men & women.
I didn’t realize that I had mental health issues until I started feeling anxious a lot & increasingly frequent panic attacks. I found a therapist, who really helped me a lot with a bunch of issues & concerns. I exercised 5 days a week. I lost weight. But I was still anxious. A low dose antidepressant/anti anxiety drug has made such a difference. I’ve become increasingly happy & relaxed. All because I could admit that I have a problem. Sorry this is so long. Please seek help. Don’t let old beliefs stand in your way.🤞🇨🇦

The old panic attacks!!! They just come out of nowhere. You feel like you are having a heart attack and could die any minute. I acknowledge it, ask myself what have I got my nickers in a twist about. Usually I don’t know what or why they are twisted. Breathe gently, be kind to myself and know it will pass and I’m not going to die. 🌸🌸🌸

I preferred Brian in the the "Men in Black" or "Spooks" shades - the Aviators are a bit dated these days.

Coffee is such a word of comfort... Irish coffee it is a even more :)
    Pascale it is too.
Your vlogs, ... it's allways, as if lying on my belly on the enginecover of Pascal & join you on these marvelous triptours.
At first i thought Pascale was the name of an old love of you maybe ... It was nice to hear in the q&a, it wasn't ;)
Everyone who may share life with you is one damn lucky one!
What a huge cuddly content, you're the biggest teddy of all, & your jokes, they're the best.

Thank you Brian. Love the vlog, the dogs & also your openness. It's nice to hear that I'm not the only person who gets bored of anxiety attacks! I thought it was just me being weird...but I'm glad to know I'm not alone in that reaction. I'm off work with it at the moment & you are 100% correct - talking really helps but so does getting out of your own head & sharing your thoughts! It's certainly helping me get better 😊 xx

Doggie ❤😂. Glad your friend Dan was there to lend a helping hand. I thought Dan's vlog with you 4 was brilliant & a good 😂. People should talk more about mental health. Talking gets the stress, poison, problem out of your head. Sometimes a simple hug can help. 😊

Thank you for being so open about your mental health experiences. I have chronic anxiety, so I'm all too familiar with panic attacks and how crippling they can be. Fortunately, there's always cats and dogs, and long deep breaths to bring us back into focus. ❤

Thanks for being so candid and open, it's rare these days, and yet so healthy.
I understand, and about the car accident, and being strapped onto a spinal board isn't pleasant. It takes enormous mental and emotional effort and perseverance to overcome a traumatic experience(s). I salute you Brian for being on this vibrant mental health journey.
I've been a passenger in 3 different car accidents so I know what it's like to successfully persevere through those experiences. I still don't enjoy it if someone drives fast and then I instinctively start pushing the floor pan as a "brake" to try and slow down.
Well done on your mountaineering Movember outing and your excellent vlogs 💫💫🎶

Thank you Brian for being so open and honest regarding your panic attacks, and your processes. You are an inspiration. ( although I must admit, after watching your mountain climbing adventure, I do think you're a little crazy- chateau roofs-yes- crazy icy mountain tops....) We love who you are.❤

The plastic on the doors is a good idea. I would do two panels on the top of each door and keep a metal panel on the bottom of each door. But they’re your doors, your barn. Love the puppies and how they are so excited to see you. Especially Lottie.
