* * PRO TIP: Contrary to my installation, installing the EZ Mender on the side of the post, rather than the front, offers more support to the fence flexing in and out. Personally, I did not want to remove boards and hardware. Laziness! --So, if you can, do place the bracket on the side in between the panel and the post. Installing it on the side will help so the fence won't rock after the repair. Please try to support your local mom & pop hardware or home improvement store. 🙏

Nice quick fix, but I think you're supposed to put those on the side, detach that bottom 2×4 and put it in that way. it will be a lot stronger when you push on it.
Thanks! Yes, you are absolutely right. I wish I had noted that in the video itself. I did write a note and pin it in the comment section and I also added that Pro Tip to the description. So I hope people read that before doing it the lazy way as I did. Haha! 🙏 Thanks for commenting!
I'm not sure. 🤦♂️ I had some extras in the garage. Maybe #10 or #12, 1.5 - 2 inch... I hope that helps! You use just about any wood screw, but I recommend something 1.5 inch or longer to grab into the wood and give more strength.
