August 25, 2000 - Reading, UK Breakout Learn to Fly This is a Call Everlong Twitter: / foofightershd Google +: plus.google.com/u/1/114303164... Facebook: pages/Foo-Fi...
I was there. Fucking loved it! I remember him talking about looking out for each other and there was this tiny girl squashed next to me, to the right and she kept going down like a sack of shit when the crowd jumped. We picked her up everytime and I ended up puting my arm through the left strap of her back packand holding her up. Some guy the other side of her did the same and we kept her up lol. Fucking loved that festival.
My dream is to own an explorer...I'm a lefty tho so I can add another £100 to the price!!!..and I was here the year too and when they headlined in '02 anyone know where I could find Reading 2002??
I was there too.. when you look at the line up of this festival it was just insane! Best band was rage against the machine during the week end. Last European show before a loooong stop for them
Yeah I want Reading 2002 the year they headlined 10years to the day Nirvana headlined I was here this year too but that year was just well ...special...
I miss the jumping in tandem in such a huge crowd. I get for safety it can never happen again (I've been in crowd collapses) but it was so magical, as was this set. I'm so glad I still attend festivals and gigs at nearly 41!
R S I noticed that in Learn to Fly, he changed the correct drum parts. Which tbh.. isn’t excuse-able since it’s their job to be always on point with their instruments
I was second row at this gig and I remember Dave was standing right of stage for quite a while before they came on. He was bouncing up and down with excitement. The crowd were chanting Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl. It was amazing. Sure they had to stop quite a lot due to the crowd surging.
Something I really appreciate about this is that you can totally hear the crowd in the mix. Love to hear the ambiance and the singing to the songs along w Dave
Just found this, I was there!!!! It was the most memorable start to a song I’ve ever heard. There were some greats bands on that weekend, placebo, pulp, blink 182. Back when music was better.
I was there too. It was my first festival so automatically becomes one of my most memorable. The line up was fucking nuts. I remember Eminem was meant to headline but had to cancel because it was court case in the US. He headlined the following year. Went to that one too.
This was a good reading, I’d like to say it seemed like yesterday but in reality it seems like 4 lifetimes ago I’m so grateful to have experienced it and still be experiencing new things now
I was front row right of centre for this. Remember a girl passed out and needed treatment. They had to tone the show down the crowd was so excited and needed calming down.
19 years later and theyre on tv right now. but shame the new crowd barriers have killed the atmosphere these days. and the rock bands have been replaced with macho gangsters we'd bottle off back then. that crowd at 6.20!
I was at this gig but was so off my tits I didn't even acknowledge or actually know who Foo Fighters were, I was there for Oasis. Soon cottoned on though and now seen them plenty since...
This the best era for the Foo Fighters. Best 4 songs too.

lovely stuff, Taylor looks like hes having a lovely time
RIP to him
i touched the case of the guitar dave plays once when they played ulu in 2002. such a great day at reading. not a camera phone in sight.
I got an Epiphone Exploher just like Dave's and Chris s . Mine aren't Gibson but dam they sound great when I play along with all there songs
Philip Reed Wallace Jalous!
Epiphone rocks, man! They make amazing guitars for the money!

I was there. The place went nuts. I remember Dave stopped a song just to help someone in the crowd who was getting crushed.
i was at Leeds the year of this set and Reading 2002...they are the best live band around in my humble opinion
And to this day Dave still does that. Legend!
Indeed
It was during My Hero...they played a great set
did you see slipknot the same day?
ahhh before Reading turned into the Radio 1 Big weekend
I was at the front for this ☺️ Can’t believe it’s 20yrs ago 🤘🏻
I was there too.. when you look at the line up of this festival it was just insane! Best band was rage against the machine during the week end. Last European show before a loooong stop for them
I wish I could find old Reading shows, they just don't seem to exist, I'm amazed you've managed to find this.

I concur!!!
Taylor improved his drumming SO MUCH in 20 years. Not that he wasn't good but he's gotten so much better over the years
R S I noticed that in Learn to Fly, he changed the correct drum parts. Which tbh.. isn’t excuse-able since it’s their job to be always on point with their instruments
@@manhuntruler2 why shouldn’t they change it? It’s a live show not the studio recording at the end of the day
@@manhuntruler2 what's changed?
RIP to Taylor
RIP Taylor, one of the greatest drummers of all time- and there's been some damn fucking good drummers over the years.
RIP to Taylor 1972-2022😢🥺

I was 16 and in this crowd, my first festival x
I was 18 and somewhere in the crowd. Christ the time goes fast
I was 16 and it was my first festival too, looking back did not appreciate what an amazing line up this was
crazy how much loved this band when i was younger, still love them, just forget them sometimes
To see a crowd like this these days... it doesnt exist at these size gigs anymore...
Go to smaller, better gigs. Or go to Raves, rock music just doesn't have the appeal it used to. Especially corporate rock, so go see some local bands!
These days Reading crowds still go nuts.
@@KingBlonde or come to Argentina
It's not that fucking long ago FFS
@@KingBlonde sad but that's the truth. I wish rock shows could still be like this. Festivals are just phone magnets
Something I really appreciate about this is that you can totally hear the crowd in the mix. Love to hear the ambiance and the singing to the songs along w Dave
No flags, no phones, no hipsters, no zoomers, no problem.

At The Drive In - Carling Stage. Legendary stuff. It was my first full year as I'd only gone for the Sunday in 99 to see RHCP. Good memories!!
My neighbors get so tired of hearing me play them
My mum attended that and 7 years later had me and now i have the foos bug amazing xx
Fantastic Memories for me. The concert where I converted two unbelievers who still in 2017 want to come see the band.
One of the best days of my life.
I was there...... crazy times....amazing performance
did you see slipknot th same day?
This was a good reading, I’d like to say it seemed like yesterday but in reality it seems like 4 lifetimes ago I’m so grateful to have experienced it and still be experiencing new things now
I can see myself in the crowd. Such a long time ago!
I love the Foos
Miss It.
I was there! I'm the guy stood centre of stage, singing and playing guitar. Oh how time flies.
Wow Dave sing Mr. butterworth during Breakout.

I was front row right of centre for this. Remember a girl passed out and needed treatment. They had to tone the show down the crowd was so excited and needed calming down.
I was right there, remember it well. Bruise on my chest from the barrier.
I was there, I had never been that close to the stage before I absolutely shit my pants when this song kicked off lol.
I was there. Memories.

I WAS THERE
5:24 Learn to fly
Taylor is beating the shit out of his drums
He looks really cool without the beard and just with the sideburns
Dave must have had a sore back after this set jeez
Shiflett looks like he won a lottery ticket :)
+Foo Fighters HD i don't suppose you have footage of 2002 Reading ...
Helllurrrrr???!!
Wow memories, I was right at front. Who remembers the dodgy corner shop who were giving away the free cases of scrumpy Jack.
Notice how there’s no phones and everyone is just jumping
Only because they weren’t invented yet!
