So tired of everything being called racist, it's lost all meaning.
In America ? It's all about race and money and especially power. But so what. Deal with it and keep living. I hope both places flourish
Mind your business as your Bible says
Same could be said about the phrase "unAmerican"
It’s only racist if they’re jealous. If you live in their misery too, then it’s ok. Forget all that. Everyone deserves the pursuit of happiness.
It's just means someone who goes to the track now
St. George isn't concerning it'sself with being called racist, it's got bigger and better things to look forward to.
Now that they can focus on positive things

Most people want to live in a safe area. Face the facts. In a lot of black area's Walmart, Wall Greens, other stores are leaving like In and Out burger in Oakland. Black Shoplifting and crime caused the stores to close & leave. Young black men kill more people than most anybody else. Even successful blacks move out of these black crime areas. I would never put my kids in black crime ridden schools and neither do successful black people. Who wants to talk all day about the crime and murders all the time. It is unproductive! Move where your kids don't have to listen to that unproductive nonsense, but can learn get a good education and live in productive safe areas! My kids deserve that and as their father I will make sure they get it! Remember this we don't have to live in St George we can go lots of other safe places. It's not that big of a deal!
Most the people in Baker and Scotlandville are black. Conveniently unreported.
That word has no meaning anymore
Finally, someone telling the truth that St. George was never part of Baton Rouge .
Being racist is treating someone unfairly because of their race. Just wanting to live alone with your own tribe is not racist. Literally no no one believes that. Forced association is just as evil as segregation. Let people form the communities they choose. Forcing unwanted people on others is evil.
Great point.
Segregating yourself is not evil.
Yeah, I don't see any problem. The city is not closed people can come and go, different local law...but hey it is a local law.
but if you don't want to live with others because of their race that is by definition racist.
@@RazgrizDavion81 actually they don't label it correctly. Always talking around the actual fact, but not mentioning the reality.
They'd still allow these people in to their community who will eventually mess everything up later on, and years later will reach back to same result like now.
Congrats to St. George.
Be great!
Let's see how they prosper now, so awesome

The Baton Rouge Mayor's "Summer of Hope" event on Monday at a public pool had to be shut down early because of fights that broke out. Fortunately, bathing suits can't hold guns so nobody was shot. That type of behavior is one of the reasons crime is rampant and people are tired of it and have been working to form the city of St. George. It's simply controlling your own destiny.

Another classic example of FAFO.
we were never part of BR. we were UNINCORPORATED, meaning we were not governed by any city.. yet our tax revenue was funding BR's operating costs.
we have been and still are part of the east baton rouge parish. the less than intelligent ppl cannot grasp that the parish are not the same.. though both are run by the same leader..
all the remaining unincorporated can still incorporate into our city, or even into BR. but it's likely they won't. they voted no to incorporate, just as they did when they petitioned to join BR.
at the end of the day, BR isnt obligated to our money, especially while neglecting us. there was taxation w/o representation
I support California becoming its own country
Good decision by the community, I pray for all the best of their future endeavor. God Bless Them
You would hope a newly formed city would steer clear of the obvious downfalls and corruption it is fleeing
That’s the real meaning of woke!
The mayor for BR is only distressed because she may have to take a pay cut. I love when things work out. Now blacks can govern their own city, and show everyone how it’s supposed to be. Great job St. George.
The border between the 2 cities is going to be like Hempstead and Garden City here on Long island. Crossing the street from Hempstead (ghetto) into GC is a total 180-beautiful homes, safe neighborhoods, and prosperous businesses. I wish St. George the best!
So much for inclusion and anti-segregation .
Im from Spain, I was in Baton Rouge a year ago as a crewman for a Spanish Galleon that was docked in the city. They never told me about the crime there before going and had various life-threatening episodes during the 10 days I spent there.
Unfortunately in cities in the U.S. there’s hella crime in downtown areas. We need mass incarceration but that would be “racist”
The biggest challenge for St George will be to stop the marauding criminals from Baton Rouge coming into St George. They plan to invest heavily in policing and schools.
I went visit the ship when yall where docked.
Sorry you had that experience.
On behalf of the entire country of the United States I’d like to apologize to you. The educational system in the United States of North America is lacking in both public and private institutions.

I live in Los Angeles County. Over 100 years ago the city of Pasadena split off from LA for the exact same reason (back then everyone was white so the only colors were white and green, as in money). Since then 30 other cities within LA County have split off. Today there are 274 cities in LA County and the 31 best to live in are all the same 31 that broke away and became financially independent from LA county. They all have their own schools, police departments, fire departments etc. it’s proof that small government works better.

Maybe the rest of baton rouge and all of Louisiana can learn from texas the most diverse state in the south and diverse economy.
The per capita tax revenue was completely skewed by race- take the total paid in by race and divide it by race per capita- now look at expenses per capita by race. Why do you want St George to be a part of Baton Rouge? $$$
This could be a new model across the country.
Sounds like Baton Rogue has been the welfare recepient of St. George's generosity. Imagine that. 🤣
If only the people of the past could see the mess slavery created for their posterity.
Congrats to you All but more important our blessed Constitution was applied to free citizens who want what they pay for...
I am an outsider but it seems to me that this happened. A large city had a nice area (Baton Rouge) and they taxed them like crazy to feel the poorer area (New St. George). People got tired of it and tried to negotiate it. The current administration (Democrat) knew that their position was so strong in the area that they didn't need to talk. There was nothing in their mind that Baton Rouge could do. So they laughed at them, and then just made fun of them. But Baton Rouge decided to break away. St George thought this would be impossible and fought it tooth and nail in court. The court didn't go their way so now they want to smear Baton Rouge as a bunch of racist. The media of course focuses on this and pushes the narrative in all their discussions. To me this is a lesson as a leader to always listen to your constituents.
St George Island in Ireland. Saint George Parish in Barbados. Louisiana has the state flag with the mother in the near with her babies!!! It is the 1/2 St George Penny. Baton Rouge is for Joan of Arc.

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, and what is now St George. Specifically, I mostly lived in Shenandoah before court forced desegregation. Only a fool would believe the motivation for the split is not both class and race based. The city was always highly segregated. So we’re the schools until the early 80s. When bussing was forced by the courts, I remember protests. I remember the buckeye three. I remember the white flight to all the very new private schools. My whole life I’ve seen and heard complaints about doing what is fair- providing all equal access to public funds and public resources. As certain as I am this is all race based, I’m equally certain it would have never happened if state law required all funding for schools to go into one pool that is then equally divided. But delude yourself with whatever delusion you need to so that you can sleep at night and pretend you are a pious Christian.
All they had wanted was a school district
They were refused
That area pays the mist tax but has the least resources and no descent school

Which US cities do really well with a majority blk tax base? EBRP needs to model those cities on a small scale, one step at a time.
Let me get this straight; Baton Rouge has been decreasing in population for decades & the school district performs poorly. I’ll assume during this same period of time white people have been the majority leaders of the Baton Rouge City Hall & School District. So, who are the people of East Parish upset with? Sounds like this new city will end up the same way if it’s ran by the same people who helped contribute to Baton Rouge demise! Let’s go deeper. If Baton Rouge has a larger population & budget than the newly formed city, how can the new city expect to have better services & a school district? And how will they pay for these services?
Baton Rouge is majority black with a black Democrat mayor. No doubt there are white pols, but St. George's move, I believe, began not b/c of skin color, but so they could have their own schools.
@@JB-ti7bl I understand the last two mayors were black. But that’s only within the last decade right? So, what about the previous 100+ years?
