I got this about two weeks ago. I love it. I also tried Rigid and Ryobi and this is hands down way better. Not having to loosen knobs to adjust and having the switch in the front makes all the difference. I also feel like this can take a lot more abuse than others. Having the battery on top instead of in the back increases the suction from the back. The Rigid is rated at 400 more cfm and this pulls more air from the back. Price is $250, but it is worth just for the impact rated and durability over its competitors.
I could see this as a great thing for camping or tailgating. If a campground doesn't have hookups you need to run a generator at specific times and the rest of the time you are left with no AC. Running that on low with the big battery you would easily stay cool on a warm night.
I bought one of these last week for my work - i work in an auto shop. Its definitely expensive - $250 normally but since I got it off a tool truck, it was $350. Its expensive but its 100% better than my old pedestal fan or my 2 blower fans that i cant change th3 angle. Plus, the air spred? From the milwaukee fan great too - its really wide so you dont necessarily have to have it directly aimed at you. I do wish they had a cheaper option with just a plug in, not a battery, and maybe a mister addon would be nice. Use a m12 or something for it 😂
Dude STAY out of the tool trucks, they are going to make you poor. Perfect example you paid an extra $100 just to have the fan a little sooner, instead of saving a little each week until you got it. Those guys are just like a rolling credit card company, stay away, I promise you'll be better off.
Great idea! I was looking at those for testing leaf blowers, but they don't go that high. They would work on fans like this though. I'll add that to my list of things to do.
Is this fan like a bigger version of the small one because the small one is a beast. I'm very curious because you can only take ones opinion on air. My definition of a good amount of air might be different than yours. I can't feel the air through the video
The original M18 fan definitely moves air so you feel it. This one is a nice upgrade from that. Hopefully the streamers blowing in the timelapse and the sawdust test help to show you the power of the wind. I'm not sure what else I could do, but I'm open to suggestions.
@@MarkThomasBuilder thanks. I've had bad experiences though. I had the small Milwaukee before and someone had a vs video between the both and he told me the Dewalt blew more amd I ordered it and was displeased. The specs had more cfm but the force of the air is more out of the Milwaukee. I was just wondering if this new one was a larger of the small one cause the small one is a beast
The design on the new 18" fan is slightly different fan design than the other Milwaukee ones, but it does move the air very nice. I can't seen any issues that you would have with this. The hybrid design is better too, because you don't need to rely on storing an AC adapter. It just uses an extension cord.
@MarkThomasBuilder what I should've asked from the start is does the air move more directly at you or broadens out from the sides. That's where the cfm deception kicks in because if a fan has a higher cfm than another I'll be like ill get that one but I'm not concerned about cfm
About time they caught up to Ridgid and Ryobi ffs. Milwaukee is so far behind on so many tools compared to Ryobi and Ridgid that it's patnetic. Knowing Milwaukee this is likely way overpriced too.
I've got the Ryobi Whisper Series 14" and 7" fans. They're both great for their uses, but this one seems to be much stronger than the Ryobi (and at 18" it should be). Great review!
Same company owns all 3 bro, they're not behind that's how they do business they think someone is going to buy them all if they want certain tools "first"
Where would you use this fan the most in your shop or garage? On the floor, a table, or somehow mount it to the wall?
Looks like it would be a beast at the camp site this summer.

Thanks for sharing that info. I haven't had a chance to see the Ridgid fan yet.
I'm bringing this fan to work with me to keep cool. I'm gonna need a bigger van though because I'm running our of room with all my Milwaukee tools.
Sounds like a good plan, Ron! I'm excited to see Milwaukee expand into this large size fan.
Got mine last month. Love it! Great review MT! 👍🏽
Thanks man, just in time for the warm weather moving in!🙌💯
Mark Thomas, a real ‘stirring’ review my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was blown away! Ha ha I know, Booo! 😆👍
Nice to hear it, George!! 🙌

Yes, I agree. I recall a few times camping in a tent and it was so hot and humid. This fan would've been perfect.
You can buy 3 m18 on sale for $89 be smart buy 3 for same money
Excellent review, thanks.
You bet!🙌💯

That's a great idea, a M12 mister accessory!

Hey that's an awesome work bench!
Thanks, I love it!🙌
I was definitely going to ask if it charged the battery.. and very disappointed it doesn’t!
Thanks for letting me know. Yes, it would be nice if it could charge the battery.
I'm a mobile forklift Mechanic and I want this fan....my problem is it's so big. Still gonna buy it..😂😂😂
You'll be glad to have it on those hot summer days. It does a nice job keeping you cool.
I’m also a mobile forklift mechanic, and I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a new tool so badly haha.
Hey mark I just thought of what to do see if you can get a wind guage to have a proof of what it blows and put the guage to the small m18 fan to

I'm a fan
Haha, nice!! 😂🙌
非常棒的介紹!
The $250 price tag is the only thing keeping me away.
It might be worth it to keep a cool this summer.
Buy once cry once.

have you tried the new m18 blower compared to previous model? New one is 3017-20
I've compared the other 2 M18 blowers, but not the new one you're mentioning. It looks like a nice option at only 54 decibels.
Hey Mark Tomas is a wood chipper loud or chainsaw loud
I think a wood chipper is louder than a chainsaw.
@@MarkThomasBuilder do you listen to music when using a wood chipper Mark Thomas
These fans are hard to find. They are usually out of stock online.
They must be very popular I'm guessing. I'm really impressed with these. It makes my garage bearable to work in this summer.
Its sold out i was about to buy
It's a great fan to have! Today is one of the hottest days of summer in MIchigan.
Very nice…..
It's well designed!
Is there livestream next Tuesday Mark Thomas
If there's some new tool announcements on Monday, then yes.
Hey Mark Thomas
Hey Jeremy, I just got home and working on the livestream. I'm planning on a shorter one tonight. The thumbnail will be up in about an hour.
How many cfm
3400 CFM
Whens livestream Mark Thomas
I'm looking at Tuesday, 4/30.
The smaller fans came out a lot longer ago than 2-3 years

I'd be curious to see how this compares to the Ryobi Whisper series fan. I also wonder if all of them are impact resistant...

should of added a mister for thoes southern boys
they needed to put the plug right on top. why would I have to bend over everytime
250 for a fan
brushless does not mean better...
It means longer runtime and motor life.
