Hawaii Airlines canceled my flight the day before departure from Tokyo to US, I contacted their customer service (very hard to get a live agent) trying to get them put on another flight back to US, but they claim their system can’t find a flight, they claimed the only thing they could do is refund. I had to pay very high price to purchase a ticket from another airline to get to US. Hawaii Airlines representative told me they have the right to cancel flights and did not provide any compensate on my extra cost of newly booked flight, hotel etc. I had similar situations with United Airlines, Air Canada and representatives were very helpful and arranged us on other flights. I will definitely avoid Hawaii Airlines in future, they have the worst customer service I have had.
I had a flight from Toronto-Australia.
Flight path was Toronto-Dallas-New zealand-Australia
My flight left Toronto 2:45mins late, which made me miss all my flights after.
When I got into Dallas, I was dealing with customer service. There were no other flights going to Australia that day, so they booked me on the NEXT DAY EVENING FLIGHT.
I got a voucher for only 1 night hotel which means I have to leave the room by 10am but my flight was in the evening.
I went there for that flight, again when I got there, the booking didn’t go through and so the only flight after that was again, next day evening flight.
Again I got a hotel.
They screwed up my booking and messed it up but I did end up at my destination. But my entire booking was changed.
My bag was stuck in Dallas after I landed 2 days late. I got my bag 3 days after I landed.
It’s been a month since the incident and I have been dealing with them for the past month. What are some tips to get a faster response.
Last month, I took a vacation in the Netherlands. On my return, I showed up at Schipol, looked up at the flight board, and it said my 10:40 Delta to MSP was cancelled. My immediate thought was 'what the hell am I supposed to do now?' But once I got my head together, I made my way to the KLM help center and they boarded me on one of their planes. No harm.

I'm in the US, but couldn't get through to American after my flight two days away was cancelled, so I called the UK customer service and everything was resolved within 15 minutes.
I actually had to use this trick again earlier this month when my layover out of Dallas got cancelled. The sole customer service desk had an insane line, so I had to call when the hubby and I were first reassigned on SEPARATE flights (his direct, mine with a 5 hour layover). Flights kept getting booked and disappearing so quickly that they couldn't help at that point, though. Then again, at 5 a.m., when better flights were available and the customer service desk wasn't open yet. My 6am flight was due to board at any moment, and AA US had over an hour and a half wait time. I called UK again and got us both moved to the better, direct flight within minutes, and hubby sat in the seat right in front of me. I get a free international country to call with my cell plan, so I keep it set to the UK.
How about if you booked via third party and the airline will not compensate you any of it since it's from a third party vendor and showing non refundable
Hi, thanks for the video. Really helpful!! My flight is delayed by 17 hours from Singapore to London Heathrow. They have offered a different flight where I will arrive only 1 hour later at London than originally planned. Please can you let me know if I can still make a claim against the airline?
So nothing came from this new rule. The whole purpose was to help with delays which is about 75% of the time, and cancellations. Some of these delays are back to back…next thing you know it’s 3 hrs later. This is what we are having issues with.
If a flight changes your scheduled arrival time about 3 months before the flight does that count as a flight cancellation?
Ok and what happens if you can’t fly because you get ill or being too late ?
Do you have to pay extra? I think no but money is screwed if you don’t have an assurance?

That’s what I would do, I’d imagine the required documents and process may vary from airline to airline. If you do manage to do it by yourself, let us know if it was worth the hassle! (Vs paying a company a cut to do it for you)
Does the dept of transportation "bump" rules also include bumped from flights going to/flying out of one airport to changing the itinerary to flying in/out of a different airport? (I bought a flight in March. The airlines decided to not fly to that airport anymore. They bumped me to another flight going into another airport that is far away from my original destination. They have no flights now going to or leaving from my destination). I have to now buy a ticket with a whole different airlines and since the flight was scheduled for 3 weeks from now and is triple the price.)
Ugh I’m sorry to hear about that. It sounds like a peculiar situation, so I’d check out those websites I mentioned to see if they have any info on that. All of my knowledge about the “bump” rules have to do with airlines overbooking flights, so I’m not 100% sure what the policies are for changing airports. Let us know what you find! 😇

Was delayed 24 hours, purchased AIG insurance when I purchased tickets. Denied refund, stated delays are not covered, well I want my insurance money back. Why offer insurance that does not cover delays. We lost 500 due to this delay, plus 100 insurance cost. Is there anything we can do?
Did the insurance say it included delays when you bought it? If it said it covered something and then didn’t, it might be worth fighting! I’d read the policy carefully to make sure you were covered.
@@ProjectUntethered no it didn't cover delays. I brought is assuming it would cover all aspects of travel. So my loss, but when I called the insurance company they told me it was covered, to send in my receipts. I lose....

My parents flight cancelled just before 7 hours from the timing and they booked for next day flight but we had to book hotel and took offs from workplace so will they compensate even though rebooked but rebooked next day not the same day it was air canada

What is it is weather related 24h delay?
I had an international flight from South America to Atlanta delayed 14 hours due to mechanical issues, Delta. They were handing out $100 vouchers as we were boarding. Am I disqualified from receiving further compensation because I excepted those vouchers?
It’s possible :-/ but it wouldn’t hurt to ask!
I did ask and that’s what they told me 😢 I’m trying to find out if that’s really all I’m going to get. I’m starting to believe that, by them passing out the vouchers the way they were doing it, is like a sneaky way of tricking us into waiving any further vouchers. Next time I’m not taking anything from any airline, not until after the flight is complete. I’m so mad!

What if I was in Iceland and my flight was cancelled and rescheduled for over 24 hours but my original airfare was purchased through miles? Can I still get compensated?
That's actually a great question and I'm not sure of the answer (or if there is any rules about it). If anyone else know, help us out!
In the meantime, if something like this happens, it doesn't hurt to ask the airline if they will compensate you with miles. If you would normally be owed compensation had you paid with cash, I'd assume you should receive something if you paid with miles as well.

We bought first class tickets on American Airlines for our elderly parents and they had a connecting flight but it was delayed a day anen they where put in the main cabin. What can we do because I filed a claim and just received a response for a 125 credit.😡😡

I'm literally in the middle of getting screwed by frontier they had us weigh 3 hours because they said the flight was delayed and after City for 3 hours they canceled the flight I'm here at the airport now they're giving out these little damn ticket refunds. There are no flights at this time and we paid for a hotel in another state. This is ridiculous!!!

Hi my dads flight was canceled today to dubai he went to the airport and they told them there's no more seats and they asked for $450 more just to get on the next flight what should he do
I’m not sure what the laws are in Dubai but if they oversold the flight, it makes sense that they should be liable. That happened to me on a flight from colombia to Brazil once and the airline paid for my food, hotel, new flight, and gave me several hundred dollars in credit.

@habibijaan5119 ohh sorry I read your first comment wrong. Yeah I’d definitely reach out to the airline customer support if they overbooked the flight and he got bumped. But if it was cancelled for other reasons, he may be out of luck.
@@ProjectUntethered unfortunately i did call customer service they have a really strong accent they can't understand me and i can't understand them when i ask them to repeat themselves they get defensive and tell me they have to deal with other people. pretty upsetting having people with an accent for a job that requires well spoken english lol

while other get frustrated why the flight is delayed/cancelled I thank god that it is cancelled :D although some airlines will trick the hell out of you to make you believe indirectly that you are not entitled to any compensation.

My flight from Amsterdam to London was canceled, therefore I missed my following flights from London to Montreal.
I had to purchase another flight from London to Montreal an hour before boarding, flight cost me 3k. All while losing money for the flight I paid but missed.
Can I claim that last minute 3k flight ?
Do you have to pay extra if you can’t fly ?
