I am not sure if I will grow tulips in the future but this I such great info! I did get a couple bags of locally grown ones just to grow for myself and to use for some practice test runs. I am going to leave them with the leaves on though so they hopefully will reproduce, and they will pop up next year. we are moving to a totally different growing zone and environment so I am very much starting all over again. I do know it is VERY windy here in the fall so we shall see how they do here.

Starting all over can be so hard, especially in a totally different climate but I’m sure you’ll do great!! ❤

Do you count your losses as cost of bulbs bought or opportunity cost of bulbs not sold?

    • @jordonsflowerfarm

Cost of bulbs bought plus the additional expenses associated like labor etc

@ thanks! I kind of had it in my mind that if I deducted all of the bouquets that I made that didn’t sell it would be a great way to offset gains but also thought that might be too good to be true!!!

I am really enjoying your videos. So much great information. I grow in the Phoenix area so can very much relate to getting hot fast in the spring. Although also dealing with it not getting cool at this time of year, 80 degrees yesterday. My bulbs are still in the cooler. Do you but pre-chilled bulbs or do you chill them yourself.

We do pre-chill in our own cooler! Though I’ve done both options of getting them 9C and 5C last year!

@@jordonsflowerfarm How long do you pre-chill them?

@ It depends on the variety but generally 8-12 weeks!

Good idea on deer fencing, I don't have a fence yet so I can't grow tulips here because of deer.

Hey! Did you sell tulip stems to your florists last year? And if so, how much were you seeing per stem?
