- After years of singing and playing in other bands, Rachel Goswell has finally released her debut solo album. In this episode of The Eye, Rachel shares some insight into her solo music as well as times with Slowdive and Mojave 3. Offcamera she said she always wanted to play while people were eating, and she finally got her wish. All apologies for the clanging sounds of forks and knives against plates!
She's so wonderful! Hearing her talk about Slowdive and Mojave 3 was very interesting.

Uuugh such interesting to hear she talking about Slowdive back that time and saying "maybe when we are like 40 or something we think eeeeh now it is time to do it" . I´ve just saw them last week and still can´t believe they´ve released a new album 25 years then. Mindblowing.
Funny how she says maybe when they are in their 40's they would come back to slowdive... :-D

What a great video! The interview gives some interesting insight into her career up until that point and the clips of her performing her solo songs sound really lovely. No matter if it's almost drowned in reverb and guitar noise or if it's standing on its own just with an acoustic guitar, her voice is always mesmerizing to me.
And she's just a terribly sweet human being in general of course :)

Rachel is perfect for Slowdive and painfully dull as a solo act. She's not a great singer as this video shows. Hope we see another post reunion album.
Her imperfect singing is charming, imo. I don't remember if it was before this album or after, but she had some problem with her ears (or one ear) that made it difficult for her to sing/perform...i think. If i'm remembering correctly. Not that that's necessarily related to any imperfect singing here. just showing sympathy!
