  • MUST SEE - Metallic Kaleidoscope Colander Pour - How I Mix Paints and Layer my Cup / Acrylic Pouring / Fluid Art
Every now and again I have to come back to the colander pour! I love trying out new colors and seeing what design i get. This time the metallics gave such a cool effect! My paints were just the slightest bit too thin, i added a tiny bit too much water at the end. Creative art ideas are always fun to try! But still, I Love how this one came out!
    Canvas is 16 in
Pouring medium: floetrol/gloss medium and varnish: 50/50
colors: gold, bronze, copper, gray, white, aztec gold
    Time Stamps:
    0:00 intro
0:45 the colander that i use for a colander pour
1:30 pouring the ring pour through the colander
3:30 tilting the acrylic pour painting
4:26 troubleshooting the colander pour design
9:49 wet acrylic paint close up
11:03 dried result of fluid art painting
12:07 how i mix my paints
16:44 how i layer my cup for the colander pours
    20:05 happy painting
Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching. Happy painting!
I am so happy that I found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. This visual arts creative outlet has made me so happy. I am loving this abstract art! I hope to keep doing this for years to come! I have always been fascinated by modern and contemporary art. There is something about it that is so freeing and expressive. I love acrylic pouring because I get to experiment and really join the creative side of my brain with the scientific part! There are so many different fluid acrylic pouring techniques out there, so much more to try and have fun with. Make sure you are subscribed to my channel so that you may learn and be creative with me. I love hearing all of your comments. Molly, this is turned out so gorgeous, I have had a colander for a long time & sitting on it for fear of really not knowing where to go with it. Thank you so much for showing the process & what is needed. I love you showing so many different types of pour painting techniques to learn. You are a great teacher.

You, as opposed to some artists, are a teacher. You don’t hawk your paintings and attempt to get viewers to buy the piece like a QVC host. That is endearing. You are more interested is us learning than you selling. It is very generous of you and very sweet. You and Rinske are my fav artists. Happy Painting Molly!

Had sooo many questions about how I mix my paints and layer the cup for this type of pour. Wanted to show how again. Still mixed my paints a bit thin, so note to self, metallics need to be a bit thicker! Overall I really like it though! Happy painting!
