I did the same install on my 2022 RG except I went with the black aluminum ODI bars. I also used the Thrashin perch clamps, the stock ones weigh like 5 pounds! I had to buy longer bolts and the Ness polyurethane bushings for the risers. I absolutely love the set up, control and comfort! Nice job with your bike!

You could get the ignition switch cover from arlen as well. Have the same setup, but haven’t got the time to install yet. Glad you didn’t have to extend anything, maybe I have the same luck on my -21 rgs! 👌🏻🤘🏻
You definitely will not have to extend anything. There is more than enough cable. I’m planning on removing the ignition switch all together sometime in the next month or so, I’m going to get the CVO program done on the bike so I don’t need the ignition switch. The video was great and will help a lot. I was thinking about the cvo switch, but that’s about 600$ where I live. And I still want the option to lock it. Just the cvo programming I think of getting anyway. How does the pullback feel when riding?
I believe and I’ll update you when I get it done, that once I have the CVO program completed I can just remove the switch. The feeling with the risers is night and day. It feels like a very comfortable sport touring bike instead of a cruiser that pretends to be… :-)
You nailed it. The flex tube wiring I picked up from Amazon for $15 you really only need about 1 foot but I ordered the 25 foot pack just because I might need it for something else at sometime and it was only a few dollars more. Good luck, you’ll love the change and thanks for watching!
Suggestion: take off your left heat shield. It allows the air to flow through instead of get trapped. Dk customs explained this in a UA-cam video. It works!
Does the guage cable extension come with the kit? I plan on doing this setup and might buy some cable extensions for the hand controls and tuck it all in the fairing if possible.
I would assume it’s just as water resistant as stock. I don’t get a lot of rain out here in San Diego. I have washed the bike a couple of times with no water intrusion that I’ve seen. Thanks for watching!

Regarding the wire extensions, they are necessary to reach the gauges. There was really no instructions except to mirror the existing connection. That was one of the most negative parts of the product. Perch clamps fit fine now, just had to readjust them. When I get home tonight I will check the overall height from the ground? Or are you talking about where it was compared to stock?

Meaning is over height equaled up to 12,13 or 14 inches. Oh did you end up keeping the stock ignition switch or did you have to swap out with the Arlen Ness switch?
OK, from the bottom of the riser to the throttle is about 14 inches. The risers them selves are 10 inches, maybe a little bit more. That’s the great thing about doing risers… I went with ArlenNess’s recommendation on the bar and for me it’s pretty darn good. I kind of wish it was an inch higher/actually an inch further back but that can be rectified easily with different bars which should take no longer than an hour or so to swap out if necessary. Maybe I missed it, but did you use your stock handlebar wires for this? Also I bought a namz Speedo extension wire and I’m curious if I could use it instead of what comes in the kit. Also instead of removing the bottom riser bolts you could of removed the whole top tree clamp. Three pinch bolts hold it and everything comes out together. I just saw it on a kraus install vid 😅 and it looks like it will make life so much easier when I do my install.
I did use all the stock wiring, use the extension for the gauges themselves that was provided by Arlen Ness. That’s a good call on removing the top triple clamp, I hadn’t thought of that being easier at the time. I just followed the step-by-step directions :-)
Do the urethane bushings come with the kit? If not, is it just 2 that are needed or 4? Only the Speedo needed extending which it came with an extension in the kit? And the riser bolts youbhad to provide yourself because OEM ones were too short? Or does Ness send some that are too short?
The urethane bushings were extra, but they were pretty cheap if I remember. They do not supply you with bolts, just pick up a couple of grade 5 bolts in the length shown in the video and they will work perfectly. Yes, the speedo is the only thing that needed an extension. You have plenty of wiring length built-in, in fact I just put on a T-Rex plate from Kraus that moved it back 2 inches and I still had enough room
I know its too late but you could have used stock softail perch/brake clamps they are $10.00 each at Harley but I get it I love Thrashin Stuff!!!!! good job on video
I noticed street glides don’t have the long perch clamps. Curious how much the street glide perches are. I bought these risers just on your video. Did the risers come with the speedo wiring extension.

I’m lucky I guess cause I have a techno research scanner for Harley and can do that. I just recently programmed a new key fob after losing my keys. Btw don’t buy a spare from Harley, a locksmith can cut a spare for $6
Do you have the exact order of how the wires get pinned on for the gauge extension harness? I’m pretty sure I’ve got the top portion right but the bottom I’ve had to de pinned a couple of times now.
Sorry I don’t, I just mirrored the factory connector. I ended up breaking one of the pins but soldered it back together and it worked. You are not the first person to ask that question I wish I had taken better pictures of it. Unfortunately it is now buried in cable wrap and mostly stuffed into my frame

Just done the same job on my St the arlen ness wiring has 8 wires dropping through the risers to the factory plug which accepts 6 is that right had loads of problems connecting then fault codes any help appreciated

Well, it took some maneuvering, but I got most of the wiring inside the frame support for the front fairing. I wire wrapped the rest of it and it looks pretty good

What were the longer bolts used for? i just bought the riser. I'm piecing it together.
If you use the urethane bushings they don’t compress as much as the factory rubber ones so the factory bolts are about two or 3 mm too short

I bought the Harley perch clamps for 2020 street glide , same year as my Roadglide. Only $34 for the pair or $17 each. The fit either side.

Yes, you can definitely tailor it to your riding style. I don’t touch it all in normal riding, but if I lean back an inch it’s a great relief

I removed the fork lock and will be removing the ignition switch next week when I get a CVO programming done

I believe so. I never use a fork lock so I just removed it
