How Good Is The Extinct Marine Species Pack? Ranking The New Jurassic World Evolution 2 Animals
ABOUT JURASSIC WORLD EVOLUTION 2
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is the much-anticipated sequel to Frontier’s highly successful Jurassic World Evolution, building upon the groundbreaking and immersive 2018 management simulation. It introduces a compelling, new narrative campaign, incredible new features, and awe-inspiring new dinosaurs brought to life with captivating authenticity. Together with expanded construction and more customisation options, the result is an even bigger, better and authentic Jurassic World game.
For Adventure! - Ігри
The Nothosaurus was kind of good. I like how it lays on a rock just like a sea lion. And speaking of sea lions, i hope we see more land dwelling aquatic creatures. Like, i want the Pontolis and Hesperornis.
That probably wouldn’t happen, unless there a sequel to evo 2. It would defeat the point of buying the Marine Park.
I hope plesiosaurus get's ability to go on land like the cryptoclidus in WWD.
Well, that was the theory that plesiosaurs and pliosaurs might have walked on land and lay eggs as scientists stated.
@@CloneTrooper-yz2ovHow so? They could just make a sequel, or a Cretaceous Aquatics pack, etc. etc.
@@kittensareawesome2789 has the rock is only in the dlc and is one of the reason to get the pack, it is exclusive to the pack and adding another animals like deinosuchus, would defeat the whole point of getting the marine species pack.
Personally I think the shoniesaurus is my favourite of the pack because it just radiates pure whale energy, which I am all for
Shoutout to BIS for having the patience to remake the list every time new creatures get added to it!
It's always so interesting to see the rankings~
One things I will say, I wish the Notho was faster or more aggressive with its animations like in CC, particularly the enter and exiting the rock platform.
Well, seeing as we’ve just gotten a marine DLC, we just *_HAVE_* to get an update and DLC to upgrade the flying animals next, so… here’s my pitch if anyone’s interested:
*_Prehistoric Flying Species Pack_*
*New Species:* Archaeopteryx, Meganeura, Rhamphorhynchus and Thalassodromeus
*Update 8:* social interaction animations for Mosasaurs and Tylosaurus, walking and social interaction animations for pterosaurs, benches, trash bins, an option to change the height of aviaries to better accommodate giants like Quetzalcoatlus, tall rock formations for aviaries _(like those in the first game),_ kelp brushes of varying types for lagoons and extra behaviours for marine animals like scratching on the lagoon floor or surfacing to breathe _(last one doesn’t apply to Dunkleosteus or future fish because of their gills)_
It’s probably too complex, but i would add medium-sized/fish-eating pterosaurs being able to dive into the lagoons and swim to catch fish. Here they would be vulnerable to marine predators. We could have a reference to zaras death with the animation between mosasaurus and a pterosaur.
@@user-rj8cp6ep5eok
I imagine they might try another azhdarchid on the rig, maybe Hatzegopteryx
Swap the dragonfly and rhamphorincus (however you spell it) for Hatzegopteryx and Nyctosaurus. Can’t imagine a pack like this without a really big pterosaur.
@@ryanbest9445 that would be most awesome
“In the future frontier should make the nothosaurs climb the lagoon fences to attack thé guests with a walking and running animation.”
I also want frontier to make this idea so that we could have the nothosaurus and other future semi-aquatic species (Deinosuchus) be land-based while also having them being aquatic.
This is the placeable lake/water pool idea.
They work similar as placing aviaries and lagoons, but they are more shallower and smalller than the lagoons, filled with freshwater, and have no fences. These placeable lakes are a environment need for certain species. Nothosaurus, Spinosaurus, Suchomimus, Baryonyx, and maybe Deinocherius. These species that can enter the lake and exit whenever they like with swimming animations and underwater interactions such as hunting fish.
I don’t think we should have swimming dinosaurs in the game besides the spinosaurids since it’s not something everyone is asking. Which is why only semi-aquatic animals should swim.
Lagoon interaction with the rest of the park is so high on my list
@@BestInSlotGaming to me is deniochus and sarco and the micro from jurrasic park the book and the pro compy.
Things I like about the update:
All the new animals, especially Shonisaurus
Dinosaur hostility
New Spino animations
Custom challenge mode
Social animations for the aquatics! They finally feel more alive
Things I don't like:
No kelp, coral, or other decorations
No submarine tours or tunnels
No way to edit lagoon depth, terrain, size, or water visibility! The lagoons are too big, and even in the viewing dome it's still so hard to see anything!
Considering that this is the aquatic dlc, more should've been done with the lagoons. New animals are always fun, but they don't do much to make the lagoons less boring. The inability to change them in any way keeps them down as the least interesting part of this game.
This update is mostly good, but there are a couple major things missing that the game really needed.
💯
Creatures in Marine Pack ranked:
4. Archelon (None of the species in this pack I dislike, I just find this one the least exciting out of the 4)
3. Dunkleosteus (Love the animations, but the skins weigh it down by a lot)
2. Shonisaurus (Best skins in the entire game, so beautiful)
1. Nothosaurus (don’t care what anyone else says about this one, I could watch them swim around and rest on the beach all day long)
Packs ranked:
7. Early Cretaceous Pack
6. Camp Cretaceous Pack
5. Dominion Malta Expansion
4. Late Cretaceous Pack
3. Feathered Species Pack
2. Prehistoric Marine Species Pack
1. Dominion Biosyn Expansion
Dramatic drumroll please
Awesome video!!! Also my favorite Lagoon Creatures in the game so far are Ichthyosaurus, Elasmosaurus, Liopleurodon, Attenborosaurus, Styxosaurus, Tylosaurus, Mosasaurus, and Archelon :) Also for Archelon my favorite skin for it would be Yukon River with Rana, it gives us a Leatherback Sea Turtle look :), my remaining wish list species for the Lagoon for this game is Halisaurus, Megalodon, and Pliosaurus :) also I didn't want the Dunk to show up in the game because we knew we were never going to get the Atomic Shark from Hungry Shark World because it's from a different series, and I felt like if we had the Dunk, there is no way we can't have an Atomic Shark since Dunkleosteus ate them in the game
I love the rankings. Mine was 1. Archelon 2. Dunkleosteus 3. Shonisaurus 4. Nothosaurus. I also think their is 110 species now not 111.
Do you think we will get a patch soon to fix the lagoon viewing dome and rock platform bug, and have you noticed that dimorphodon’s tail is broken.
Yeah im sure the lagoon will be fixed next week. It's never happened to me!
I think they need to add an attachment to lagoons that allow notho or other future semi aquatics to climb on land and be a part of the rest of our parks. Like a small beach attachment that lets them slide in and out of the lagoons or even just a rock ramp. I think that would be the perfect alternative to having say a deeper water brush.
Shoni #1, in my heart❤
I recently updated my own rankings, and I was honestly surprised how much my opinions on many species have softened the longer I've played the game. Which only made it harder to decide where to put the new entries! I ended up ranking the variants (actual variants so not the BaBR Allo or JP3 Pteranodon) separate - so 115 spots in total - and got this for the four newest wet and wonderful additions to the roster:
5. Dunkleosteus, the only lagoon creature in my top 10... the only lagoon creature in my top 30! Despite lagoon creatures still feeling more disconnected than the rest of the roster, Dunkleosteus is so unique and such a wildcard addition that I've been a little obsessed. I love that it can eat from the shark feeder, I love its weird soft-looking body (behind the armored head obviously), I love its goofy grin. Love the Dunk.
31. Archelon, the second place in the pack and second for all lagoon animals. Its chill with most other creatures and is really pretty. Helps I like turtles.
59. Shonisaurus, I really want to love this one, but its just lacking something. Its pretty, but it doesn't do much. Tylosaurus has the same issue, but at least Shonisaurus is pretty.
86. Nothosaurus, I don't like Frontier's skin design for Nothosaurus and I also don't like the scale texture on it. It does get points for climbing on the rock and for being the Triassic "seal" that I love from the fossil record. But in the end its like Dimetrodon where I really really want to love it, but its just missing something that made me love the fossil organism. Some "je ne sais quoi".
Bestinslot you remember when you made a video about Minecraft dinosaur’s 6 months ago? Are you going to do a Minecraft dinosaur series?
2:48 Yeah. Personally I think the 2022 Camp Cretaceous skin is the only skin that looks great.
i really hope this aquatic update ups the likely hood of getting stuff like the sarcosuchus kaprosuchus deinosuchus and diplocaulus in the game at some point
Because of this update it was the first time I’ve ever heard of Nothosaurus. Now it might be one of my favorite marine reptiles. I just love its weird teeth and the limbs make it way less creepy than most plesiosaurs. Probably a lot different because it was an offshoot of that group.
It’s not an elasmosaur.
@@thatcarnivoreteacher5840 You are right it was an offshoot of Plesiosaurs.
Really enjoyed this pack! I hope we will eventually get some kind of extinct Crocodillian pack, Kaprosuchus would be a great addition imo.
I think dunkleosteus have a glitch. Sometimes, it freezes when it uses shark feeder, and I must traq it and relocate.
Also, lagoon Dome just levitate above water when I entered the save file.
Would have the Dunk and Archelon swap places.
It was close!
I’ve loved nothosaurus since I was a kid haha. One of my favorite segments in the WWD Sea Monsters special is Nigel wrestling a notho. Plus, Triassic representation is always a win.
I really like nothosaurus and dunkleosteus because I grew up watching Walking with Sea Monsters with Nigel Marvin. Another reason I also love liopleurodon, but to get a Walking with Dinosaurs skin you have to use kronosaurus. But regardless, I love those marine reptiles. I love the way they move, the way they act, and the fond memories that come with them.
I would love to see more behaviours from the marine species like surfacing to breathe, breaching, spyhopping, tail or fluke slapping.
My biggest thing I wish we got for the nothosaurs was the ability to have it either be hatched in a lagoon or land.
Like having the option to have this creature either be in a full lagoon or in a paddock where it lives on land and ya can build a swamp like habitat with lots of water and such for it to run around with other dinosaurs and such.
Next pack could drop late October, maybe we see something like:
Nightmares Species Pack
Tarbosaurus
Xipactinus (or Meg but I want devil fish more)
Gigantoraptor
Hatzegopteryx
Free update could include flickering lights, Dino’s can attack you in explore mode and large predator pack hunting.
I can't believe Brachiosaurus has drop down to #15 in JWE2 but this just show how good frontier are making there creatures in the future.
Btw are you gonna post any of Baldur’s Gate 3, to this channel or to Vagrant? You made a community post about losing footage for a series, so was that BG3?
This pack really fills in a lot of niches, nothing feels excessive and I love that!
I honestly like the paths that this pack opens/explores.
Nothosaurus shows that the developers are willing to add Camp Cretaceous creatures that aren't just skins (or a popular hybrid, like Scorpius) and will even add a new mechanic (island pillar) to accomodate them.
Archelon is almost like a giant extinct version of an animal that still lives today, which makes me hope for giant extinct crocodylomorphs in the future (which would also benefit from the island pillar!)
(I don't really have anything special to mention about Shonisaurus, but I do think it's the most beautiful one and my favourite from this pack.)
Dunkleosteus, a literal fish, opens the path for other prehistoric fish. And while Megalodon might be too recent for the developers to add, I'm hoping for a fish pack with a few ancient lobe-finned fish or shark relatives like Stethacanthus and Helicoprion.
I hope this pack is the beginning of something new.
Free Update Idea
New Species
Dromaeosaurus
Microceratus
Pterodactylus
Smilodon
New Features
Walking Pterosaurs
Kelp Brush
Mosasaurus and Tylosaurus social animations
"Shonisaurus would have been a ferocious hunter in a lot of ways"
Just want to point out, so would Orcas, and they are wildly popular as a "Friendly Giant" kind of animal.
When bestnslot said its time to cook I almost cried. 😭😭
Nothosaurus was probably my favorite for being an aquatic with legs, basically.
Is there any land interaction between Nothosaurus and Archelon? I’m assuming not, but it would be really cool
For me its Nothosaurus its the cutest with the otter animations, Dunk even thou it was basically a shark tease, Shoniesaurus its got good skins, and Archoldon its good but is just a giant trutle
I think this was second best dlc still wish they had added some sort of brush for the lagoon lately it seems like frontier is being short on the dlcs
Mods gonna go crazy with the dunk
And probably make a short dunk/
goldfish dunk
In my opinion, if Frontier would just add kelp, the lagoons will be great. Kelp with 3 different heights and a forest brush for kelp.
finally someone who isnt just hating on the shrunk dunk
also shoni is my favorite its so beautiful
It convinced me to start using lagoons so I'd say its a damn good pack.
I wonder what the next park build is gonna be!!!
We need some creatures like nothosaurus that can escape lagoon. And we need some creatures like mammoth, smilodon and Paracatherium.
for me it’d have to go 1) Shoni 2) Archelon 3) Notho 4) THE DUNK, thougj think all 4 are great
Hey bestinslot do you think Frontier will still continue adding more dlc?
13:10
I just realised that it says «auastralovenator»…
I thought the islands could of been better a few different designs maybe and option to snap them together
I loved the Notho alot in previews but seeing in in-game on an Xbox one, for some reason the teeth are bugged so when it opens its mouth it's teeth stay in place so I can't enjoy them in game :(
Shoni is gorgeous and adding it to multispecies lagoons really makes it look huge
Archelon is kinda boring in terms of being just a big turtle, bit it gives me such Chased by Sea Monsters vibes with the skins and it's so well made that I ended up loving it
Dunkleosteus would be top tier if it had a more orangy skin so I could recreate chased by sea Monsters. As is, it's still pretty incredible.
Dunkleosteus > Shonisaurus > Archelon > Nothosaurus
I really do love the Shonisaurus, it's just so gorgeous. Animations definitely aren't as interesting. But I'd love to just watch them swim around. Those patterns are just too beautiful.
Im really hoping for a permian animal pack since the game does have alot of paleozoic animals.
Edaphosaurus
Gorgonopsid
Scutosaurus
Labryinthodon
Hi best
Just me personally, but in order to rank jwe2 species I have to have three lists... I just can't have marine, aviary and land creatures together since I struggle to figure out where they place against eachother 😅
You should re make the botanical gardens in JWE 2 that would be cool
I never feel like the animals have much dimension. They all have the same behaviors with different animations. I never felt like i could look at them and see something new after the first few animations.
For me I didn’t even care about camp Cretaceous I just like the Nothosaurus for me it’s in the top 25 I think it adds a great species to the game I started a challenge mode only using flying and marine species and notho was the first species and I love to watch it
The dunk is also really cool
Archelon is in my top 20
And Shonisaurus is freaking beautiful I always give it the skin that looks like an orca 6:00
Also Nothosaurus and Liopleurodon have different attacks against each other.
Ngl I feel the rankings are slightly too harsh on Nothosaurus and too generous for Shonisaurus. Archelon and Dunkleosteus are top quality tho 👌
Next Marine pack:
- Leedsichthys
- Helicoprion
- Megalodon
- Xyphactinus
Still wish Megalodon was in the pack tbh.
BG3 is so good! Who are you romancing?
Guys please help, i bought this update for my wife as we both love dinosaurs and love playing this game but i cant seem to unlock these dinosaurs. Been playing chaos theory and the fossils arent coming back or even showing up on the available animals as unlocked. Playing on xbox series x. Any help appreciated
4. Dunkleosteus
3. Nothosaurus
2. Shonisaurus
1. Archelon
If I where frontier. I would just make the spinocertops, free dlc in a update. because no one really wants a hybrid pack, and they just make something more creative, then a pack that has no real animals.
And yet that waste of a hybrid was meant to be the Woolly Mammoth
I think about it, it’s such low effort dlc, by Just giving us three animals with pre-existing models and animation. With just one new model, is something they can do without wasting time or resources on it. On dlc with low demand, feels like no brainer.
@@CloneTrooper-yz2ov fair, but a Woolly Mammoth instead of a Spinoceratops is better, in Camp Cretaceous
@@liopleurodonthedinoman3637 it would probably be in the cenzoics pack, along with megaldon and sabertooth. If there was to be something free, I would guess the dodo bird in a free update, if it’s not in the pack.
Hello
Hi
Mistake on the ranking count at the 12:58 mark. It goes 39, 42, 41, 43, 44.......
uhh akhcually the dunkleosteus isnt a bony fish its a placoderm
which is a clade of bony fish
The new spinosaurus exit animation is just indoraptors
I really liked this pack, it was really good. But I will never understand why does the Archelon go on land. It obviously could, as it had to lay its eggs there, but that's only it. No sea turtle goes often on land, they are almost fully marine. So it's cool, but very senseless to me.
I was in Hawaii a while back and saw sea turtles on land in at least four different locations I visited. They were resting on rocks or on the beach. I even returned to a few spots later in my trip and they were there again. So it's not out of place to have this in game.
i want more dlc
I can totally understand why someone wouldn’t like season 4 and 5 of camp Cretaceous. It doesn’t feel like most Jurassic media. I know that. But I personally love it, as I love more sci-fi stuff. Don’t get me wrong, it is NOT, by any stretch of the term, “Jurassic world”. Excluding the name anyway. But if ya like sci-fi, and can suspend your disbelief, you could grow to enjoy it like I do.
Ngl feel like ypu were way off this ranking, would have moved them all a fair bit higher and personally had dunkleosteus much lower
It is a good thing you did not watch season 5, wish I didn't watch it.
Dunks don't have teeth they have boney plates
I want more non dinosaurs
Pog
Ah, you too have fallen victim to BG3, my deepest sympathies
Let’s say the marine species pack is great even though it doesn’t have the Meg the dunk was the improvisation for the Meg so let’s say it’s good so I hope we get more aquatic creatures that can go on land and in water and more prehistoric marine species
I’d suggest next time you do the list you separate the 5 different variants as well because there is significant enough difference to separate them in the rankings
Let’s say the marine species pack is great even though it doesn’t have the Meg the dunk was the improvisation for the Meg
Dunk was by far my least favorite among this pack. Boring social animation, ugly pattern. It can't compare to any of the other 3. Arche I didn't like so much, but the social animation on the rock is amazing!
This is the first dlc in both jwe games i didnt buy because i just dont care about the aquatics
My personal ranking: Shonisaurus > Dunkleosteus > Archelon > Nothosaurus.
When the dlc got announced notho was my least anticipated and now its my favorite
