Great times for Bluegrass fans and enjoying great music and atmosphere .
My mamas brother, played banjo for the country gentleman.
Left home when he was fourteen with a brown lunch bag and a banjo .
New he wanted to do something other than farm work .
Got a job in a radio station playing banjo live on radio Friday nights .
In a Farmville Virginia Radio station with Henry Fulcher .
What a story and inspiration to many from a small town of Scottsville Virginia.

Absolutely one of the top 2 or 3 bluegrass bands of all time. I consider myself so lucky to have seen them in person at Berryville in the late 60s. R.I.P. Charlie Waller.

Charlie Waller (guitar), John Duffy (mandolin), Eddie Adcock (banjo), and Tom Gray (bass).

Brings back wonderful memories of Thursday nights at the Shamrock about 1961 in DC. Usually about 20 or thirty people in the bar…

My son ask me to make him a mixed tape.
He is 21 and he loves every song I give him. His sister's at 23 and 17 are the very same way.
Oh, I am a very proud 67 year old father.
That is what got me to look this up.
They will love this music 🎶.

In their prime these guys could not be beat (before or since) This is of course the "classic Band" (not the original) Best lead vocal, best tenor, best baritone, best harmony, best instrumentals ..great stuff. This reunion was about 20 yrs past their last time together

Danny Gatton used to say that Eddie Adcock was the greatest Banjo player in the world.

God! So many times I heard this at the Shamrock in Georgetown. What a band. Charlies voice so steady and strong. The best group is as you see here. (not that Bill Emerson was not good, but Eddie added the singing missing in the earlier band. My opinion , of course! Bob Jackson, now in Co.

This was recorded only a few short years before John Duffey passed away. I believe he left us in ‘95.
