When we wrestle with the Son of Man, He strips away everything we are, our schemes, our projections, He takes our inventory, until we see it all , all our worldly efforts come to nothing, all our scars, all our brokenness, our starts and stops, all the dead ends ----God empties us of everything - when we wrestle this way God builds a bridge from our head to our heart. To me, it relates to the 4th and 5th step on the road to recovery. Jacob can not make amends to Essau until he comes to the end of himself. And we get to drink from the well that never runs dry.
