I had the pleasure of seeing her open for Rufus Wainwright in Auckland in 2012 at the Civic Theatre. If I had known because of that night I would have a life long affair with her music playing as soundtrack to so many memories, I would have found a way to meet her when I had the chance. Her songwriting almost seems modest compared to her talents, and never shy of soul. I have never heard of another songwriter I could compare to Krystle, even as a songwriter myself, my ambition could never come close to her natural ability to write with such colour and romance. When asked what music I listen to, Krystle Warren is absolutely the name I say first.
