It's also inspired by early concept art of jw1 villain, which is a human-trex hybrid. The fact that scorpius shows some human traits like standing on 2 feet like an ape and using arms like humans when standing makes me think wu addded human dna to his first hybrid
The Scorpios rex is something else man. Crazy that a failed hybrid in a kids' show wound up being scarier than the "successful" hybrids in the movies. Not a high bar, but still.
Scorpius wasn’t scary. I think it’s best scene was the initial scene in the forest at night time. Then after that it’s got the same fear factor as a apatosaurus
Should have killed her considering it can demolish a 60 ton behemoth with little to no effort but the show said "plot armor". What a great opportunity to scare the audience that was absolutely ruined :(
Scorpius Rex was one of the coolest, and creepiest antagonists in Camp Cretaceous. It ran like a typical raptor, but due to it's weird anatomy, it can stand upright like a man. It's cry was like a scream, or even someone in immense pain an suffering. It's like if Dino Crisis actually went down the Resident Evil route of enemy design. This thing was like something straight out of a survival horror setting.
This is my favorite hybrid. I loved how psychotic and unpredictable it was. Dang thing took down a Brachiosaurus (although we didn’t see how). It goes to show how dangerous and powerful it is. Also, if I remember correctly, they had to change the rating of Camp Cretaceous because of the Scorpios Rex and how much more brutal it was
It truly looks like a horrifying experiment that shouldn't exist. Like just existence is pain and that it's body doesn't fit and blend together. An amalgamation forced to be alive and because of that wants to destroy everything. Also it looks reminiscent to the old concept art of a scrapped idea for Jurassic World in which they created human-dinosaur hybrids.
The only thing bad about the Scorpios Rex is that it was shown in a kid’s show. Imagine how scary it would have been if it was PG13, hell even R rated…💀
@@TheDinoFax Totally agree! I mean, that show was meant to be for kids, but me, in my mid 20´s was scared. Especially the Eye of the storm episode. Like goosebumps all over my body. That shrieking he was making, that scene where he was like apex predator.. it was top-notch scariest thing i ever saw on any animated series.
A detail left out that would give not just the whole family trauma, but the entire generation trauma is that this thing was an invasive species to Isla Nublar and was capable of reproducing by itself. Yep. It could clone itself. Just another thing that made this thing a walking nightmare.
Imagine Scorpius Rex being in a full fledged Jurassic movie. I can only wonder how it could’ve been so much more horrific and creepier, especially with its design being in the budget of the movies.
I ain't gonna lie the Scorpios Rex terrified me when I watched Camp Cretaceous season 3 for the first time because of that roar (still gives me chills to this day)
when I saw the trailer for s3, I thought one of the sound effects was a noise it made, even though I figured that out it was still scary, it's snarls sound like scraping iron, did u ever talk about the malusaurus, if not, could u do that next?
I'll be honest, I liked this thing straight from the jump. It really did strike me as a failed experiment, and while I do wish its tail longer, I love everything else. The sound design as well as the way it moves gives the impression of someone brutally transformed into a dinosaur, especially with the way it stanced up in it's reveal, and that scream like roar it had. It kinda gave me Shin Godzilla vibes, with how it looked so labored and tormented by just existing... I feel bad for it, and of all the "villainous" dinosaurs, I wanted it to be put down the most, if only to spare it the pain of a life it had never asked to live.
I really loved how terrifying this creature was JWCC was such a hidden gem for me wasn't expecting it to be any good Scorpius Rex was one the best hybrids even for a failure
If he was to review some of the Jurassic World Alive Hybrids. I know it's not cannon but I think it's be cool to see a review on how lethal they really are.
What makes this thing even scarier is that fact that it can make copies of itself in a short amount of time. So one day your being hunted by one and then suddenly there’s 2 after you now
They also said that it wasn't meant to look the way it came out of the lab. It was meant to look like yutyrannis with dionychus feathers and longer arms.
Don’t feel afraid though, it has ADHD. You could probably get it off somehow in someway. It doesn’t make it less dangerous but you at least have a way to cause a distraction
Coolest looking hybrid. The rest look like armoured regular JP dinosaurs, with a thumb for some reason, whilst this looks like a proper Frankenstine monster. It's super creepy and weird looking, a real genetically engineered monster. I would have loved if this was the indoraptor. Almost like a were-dinosaur, not too human, but enough to be a bit uncanny
I have been binge watching camp cretaceous and I gotta be honest, Scorpius Rex is the scariest dino I have ever seen in anything related to JW. Especially when its in the middle of a thunderstorm
Can we also acknowledge that we have known this monster in a Jurassic World spin off show called JW: Camp Cretaceous whose target audiences are children and young adults. Also the fact that a group of teenagers are the ones who confronts it the most in the most parts of the episodes it made its appearance in.
I like the premise of an analog horror with a real Dino that just stays outside your house, trying to lure you outside to maim you, feed you to your kid and then move to the next house
Man, it’s so fascinating to learn about the scorpios Rex, through any source really. There isn’t really much known about this creature apart from a few things. But with JWE 2, database (which I have literally never taken the time to read) we could probably find out way more then we do now.
I didn't see ANY other JP movies other than the very first, very iconic one. I may watch the revamped ones starring the amazing Chris Pratt "Jurassic World" (2015 - ???) I love that this particular monstrosity basically has FLIR vision as some snakes do! I wonder if the writers took that ability from their distant cousins and used it here? VERY cool power! I'd love to watch the entire series now! (Although I have ALWAYS had just ONE complaint about these movies: these dinos didn't all exist in the Jurassic era. T-Rex was around during the late Cretaceous era and others were from other eras and would never have survived at the same time. Just a thought.) 🙄🤔
I still adore that one of the scariest JP monsters came from a children's show of all things.
Don’t call it that, it’s insulting

Another interesting fact is that it most likely has human DNA, it has thumbs and it adopted an upright, humanoid pose in the roar scene
