I don’t really have anything to add other than good luck with finding some more without going thru! These multi stage work ups are always fascinating to me.
Creeping into better shape. I think adding those cc's by raising the roof will be needed if it's truly ment for the track. Simple because of velocity at a higher rpm.
Probably about 390hp @ 7,800rpm with 10.5:1 compression, and a decently spec'ed cam. If you up compression to 12:1, ~420hp. Getting 500hp from a 289 is not easy, even revving to the moon, especially if you want any kind of decent midrange.

@@bcbloc02 I can not ruin these!!!! My sonic is earning it's keep for sure.

@@approachingtarget.4503 I agree!
I knew these required offset rocker arms but I always assumed the valve spacing was WIDER! 😳
@@Alaska_Engineer I found out why the giant exhaust valve. Stay tuned!
Nice speeds Charlie
@@rickyfulks6656 Thanks, stay tuned.
Additional tulip will spread that fuel pattern.
@@approachingtarget.4503 We will see what the new valves will do. Thanks!
I feel those small engines don't need the big 1.6 exhaust valve. But I don't know squat also LOL

I FOUND OUT WHY FROM D.V.. His answer is from Carrol Shelby.
Which texture increase air speed and cfm?
Thanks
@@amirdoshmanfekan5145 I need a more specific question. Which area?
@servediocylinderheads roof and short side
@servediocylinderheads i dont have flow bench i just want ovral method to do a right job
@@amirdoshmanfekan5145 Roof rough, ssr smooth.
Looks like low 400hp at 201 cfm up to 408 dual planes just are not great at high rpms
