The guys sit down to prepare for the live riffing of BIRDEMIC - in theaters across the country on October 25th!
Check out the original BIRDEMIC riff here: www.rifftrax.co...
and The RIffTrax LIVE of Birdemic here: www.rifftrax.co...
My favorite thing about Birdemic is that, while Our Heroes are struggling and running and fighting the mutant birds, there are people in the background juts drivin' to the mall. Everyone else is fine.
Yeah it is hilarious. I don't even think James Nguyen thought about that at all.
*"I hear a mountain lion, I gotta go. It was nice meeting you."* - How I will end all my relationships with people from now on.
Psh this is how i say goodbye to everyone now.
Truth be known, he was in a hurry because that wig was due back on the set of Samurai Cop in ten minutes.
I've made my wife sit thru this movie several times as I've shown it to my relatives. She has not left me over it, so it must be love.
Man, it feels weird to hear the voices of Crow and Servo coming out of those human bodies.
I had this exact thought, five years in the future.
Seriously. I thought the same thing
Right!?
God i love these fucking guys. they're the three musketeers of riffing.
Three brilliant guys right here.
This past year hasn't been a very good one for me. But regardless of how bad things got, all I had to do was put a Rifftrax video on and I would be laughing and smiling in no time. That is truly a gift, and I can honestly say I appreciate these guys and what they do. Love you, Rifftrax!
I can't believe there will be a Birdemic 3.
Wow. Just wow.
"I hear a mountain lion!" has gotten me out of SO much overtime, you have no idea. Well, I have to get back to my house. You better get back to your car. *calm friendly wave*
This was the movie that made my friends stop letting me pick movies.
You guys are hilarious. Bill you've always been my favorite as Crow and I'm so happy to see that you used your 100% normal speaking voice to do the character! It's chuckle inducing to see the voice of a golden spider duck come out of a real person!
Also, love that you guys are doing "Host Segments" again. This literally made my day.
"you look... fine" truly, a line for the ages.
I thought he said "divine" 🤦🏼♀️
Tree Guy is Woody Harrelson in a Patsy Cline wig.
This is Best of the Worst starring MST3K. They have to do this more.
We need more of these coffee table conversations! I think this is a great replacement / representation of the short skits in MST3K, and should be a part of every Rifftrax!
Keep up the great work guys, we love you (more than as friends, Kevin
I saw Manos Live in El Paso, Tx. I've already got my tickets for Birdemic live. CAN'T WAIT!!!!
The sad thing is: James Nguyen GENUINELY believes that he made a GOOD film.
It is an excellent film. Its the next manos for f sake
Ed Wood, part 2😁
9:50 For your _classical_ plays, Shakespeare recommends a bear, rather than a mountain lion for abruptly ending scenes.
Funny coincidence, I watched BIRDEMIC with some friends. The next day as we were driving, the windshield got hit by a very large amount of bird poop much like the scene with the bus (without the dissolving flesh). We were both amused and freaked out.
Jason King When you are an adult, you can fend off unwanted attention...and so that makes it ok to associate with all kinds of aged adults. Go forth and be friendly!
Mike, Kevin, and Bill are real inspirations to me. Their intelligence and humor are great and I really like their chemistry with each other.
These human puppets Crow and Tom Servo are operating are amazingly life-like!
I just wanted to say that I have been going to Rifftrax Live for years now, and every time I've asked my dad if he'd go see it with me. He'd laugh at me, call me a dork and say no. Well for Birdemic I finally coerced him into going with me, and he loved it. I felt so vindicated that I punched him in the face and set fire to his car. Thank you for bringing us closer together Rifftrax.
The environmental movie that Al Gore doesn’t want you to see.
Saw my first Riff Trax of Birdemic at the Cinemark in Monaca, PA just last night. My nephew asked me to go and it was the funniest thing Ive seen in a while. I am a long time MST3K fan and a young fan of the old school radio show genre. This was an awesome experience. It was the same magic only you guys can bring. I loved it. Please do more...
For now 'THick McRun Fast' signing off!
I grew up with you guys, and I still watch the old stuff. I love what you do and hope you continue for years to come
With the riffed 'Birdemic' you once said of Natalie's mom: "Mom?! You sure that's not both her parents in some kind of suit?" Now days, particularly the live event for 'Birdemic,' you refrain from insensitive fat shaming because all your kickstarter contributors in the front rows are nearly the size of Natalie's mom. "I know. I used to model those termite tents..."
My dad's taking me to see Birdemic for my birthday. This'll be the best 18th birthday ever!
I can't get over the clipart in this movie.
I saw the guys do this in the theater and without a doubt, the funniest night at the movies I've ever had.
HAHAHA Bill on the mountain lion: "It doesn't have to be on screen. It can be imagined."
Oh, Wow! YOu guys have faces! I didn't know you had faces! I always thought you were just disembodied voices. Way to go guys!
@7:51..."Tree Guy" bears an uncanny resemblence to Woody Harrelson...ha
loved your riff of Manos! Can't wait for Birdemic!! keep em coming boys!
This is beautiful, I could watch you guys chatting for far far much longer than I should admit. :P
My understanding of the 'acid bucket' scene is that Nguyen was trying (badly) to convey vultures vomiting on people. Vultures are known to vomit on animals that threaten their nests. I've never seen it, but I figure an animal that eats rotting flesh should have no trouble prompting itself to regurgitate.
Saw your show in Irvine for this. I love that you guys have these sessions now. Thanks so much
Holy crap a Double Dare reference from Kevin! I love Rifftrax!
Just saw this live in Portland, OR tonight with my friend who's a big MST3K and Rifftrax fan and we lost it so many times. It was a great night!
Thanks for talkin', Rifftrax. For me, the spontaneity of these segments make them funnier than many of the riffs themselves!
All that --- AND lots of parking scenes too! Great show guys. Just heard a wildebeest in my kitchen, gotta run.
"I hear a mountain lion" only rivaled by "I need to return some videotapes" as a great exit line
Everyone knows that's videotapes aren't a thing anymore. Today you need to use a line like, "I need to install my sowa panos" to get out of a tricky situation.
Thanks for upping the volume!
Birdemic reminds me of Atlas Shrugged in that it has an apocalyptic storyline interrupted with characters stopping the "action" by going on a tirade about the author's pet issues.
Really like these 'Talkin' videos - as others have said, they're kind of like the old host segments or special features on DVDs that give a bit of interesting extra material about the movie that couldn't really be fitted into the actual riff it self.
Keep 'em coming!
If you can see the live version of this Rifftrax then do so. It is far superior to the Rifftrax studio version.
Birdemic 2 is just aching for the rifftrax treatment
BEST RIFFTRAX LIVE EVER ! Theater was packed in Knoxville - entire crowd roared with laughter from start to finish. Thanks guyses !
'Just then, Macbeth heard a low growl in the distance. He turned towards the three witches and said " I heard a mountain lion. I'd better go!" ' The mountain lion method works on many levels.
This was great! Thanks for taking the time to share this!
Great show last night guys! Saw it in Fort Collins, CO. Saw Manos live too. Please keep doing these live events. They're great.
I'm really loving this new feature. I hope you guys keep doing it. :)
Just got back from birdemic it was awesome
Smooth ending there guys...
yay the sound is perfect! this will definitely get more views. i'm going to the live show with a bunch of my coworkers, wicked excited.
That moment when you first see the voice actors from your favorite shows... holy crap.
Manos was my first "Rifftrax Live!" experience, but I'm definitely following it up with this! Got my tickets ordered and my gf and I will be there tomorrow night!
I'm waiting for the trilogy box set and then the prequels.
Man, Mike's looking good these days.
1) Wow, this just put Birdemic on my radar. Where the hell have I been!?; 2) Yelling "Woohoo!" automatically makes you the most unappealing human being ever; 3) The term "chum bucket" makes me feel weird; 4) "I gotta go, I hear a mountain lion, nice meeting/talking to you!" will now be my go-to phrase for getting out of conversations with overly-chatty people, especially people who are also prone to yelling "Woohoo!"; 5) 5
You know, acting aside, I would say that Nathalie would be a more convincing girl to fight over in The Room than Chubs McBlondie.
these guys are my "The View"
Left to right Tom Servo in Real life, Crow T Robot & Michael J Nelson....
Great Talkin' episode, i really love these. I wonder if you guys could offer a DVD release of these: combining 2-VOD movies with Talkin' intros for each for the holidays (please!!) ??? I already have many in e-format, but would pay $18ish for such a dvd and having combo releases would make the shipping cost less painful.Yes, you guys are that funny!
Between the JonTronShow and this, Birdemic is indeed the next Manos.... the Hands of Fate....
Push the button, Frank.
I went to that too it was so awesome seeing them live they need to do more live shows
Best Riff yet!! God I love these guys!
LOVE these Talkin RifftraX segments keep them coming!!
Saw it in Tampa you guys are awesome. Keep it up and I will keep buying.
Man, it looks like they have so much fun.
I;ve been trying to watch Birdemic for years but I can't get through it because I'm laughing so freakin hard. maybe if i get an O2 tank hooked up in my place I won't die of laughter at how bad the movie is. I really hope you rifftrax fellas never die. Hilarious stuff that i hope never ends
Just came back from birdemic in PA and it was reasonably funny!
I agree, I bought the live VOD yesterday, and IMHO, it's the funniest thing you guys have done yet.
Except maybe for the Ice Cream Bunny laughing.."hurr, hurr, hurr" Bill's the man.
I'd just like to say thank you to all three of you in this legendary hysterical trio; you have made some of the most boring times of my life bearable. Also, I'd like to say screw you to all three of you, for making me do a hiccupy laugh, sneeze and fart at the same time during silent study hall during the 300 riff.
i have all of the shorts and most of the VODs and every single one i watch i still picture crow and tom doing the commentary instead of bill and kevin. i think i watched MST3K so much that the robots images are drilled too deeply into my brain to be able to imagine real humans talking, lol.
For those of you who haven't heard of "The Amazing Bulk" look at the trailer on UA-cam, and you will know why Rifftrax needs to make a VOD of this masterpiece.
no problem! happy to help! i just hope some one will distribute the film i must see it.
No, do you want to know what the shock and terror of Birdemic is? It's the fact that someone greenlit a sequel. I've seen the clips of the sequel. I really have to believe that some kind of military grade heavily laced weed was involved in both of these movies, but that the weed must have cost one billion dollars.
I'm sure that mountain lion thing would work for awkward situations. If you walk into the wrong class, for example, you could just go, "I hear a mountain lion...it was very nice meeting you!"
I can't wait for the gang to tackle Birdemic 2: Resurrection....thus ushering in world peace.
you haven't hoped in vain good sir. birdemic 2 sometime this year . . . just watched the trailer on imdb. dear god it looks terrible and i'm going to love every minute of it!
This was so much fun!
I would LOVE to see the sequel in a theater..
I'm going to start using the mountain lion line now. While talking to someone in an awkward conversation that I want to end quickly, at a restaurant or the dentist when it comes time to pay, job interviews that aren't going anywhere, family get-togethers... the possibilities are endless.
Weird, Kevin; I have that exact set of skills too!
Something many of the comedy troupes (Monty Python, Kids In The Hall, The State) have said, is that they never could figure out how to end a sketch. Monty Python would usually cut to an animation. If only they had a mountain lion.
Remember "Hobgoblins" took 40+ minutes just to see them in the film finally!
"A big hand for incredibly round numbers"
"Global warming, which, naturally, turns birds into exploding demon-monsters."
LMAO...
Love you guys! Please don't ever stop and say that you'll be doing Birdemic 2 when that one comes out? =)
Thanks again for all the awesome stuff you do!
I missed Manos. I WILL NOT MISS THIS!
got tickets, awww I'm so happy!!!!
I just saw it in Indianapolis, did not disapoint:)
I live in the Bay Area and can't by slrpnls anywhere!
These three men are BEAUTIFUL...And wonderful and just FAN FUCKING TASTIC...LOVE RIFFTRAX TO DEATH......The backbone of MST3K Kevin Murphy and the great one MICHAEL NELSON......And Bill wrote "Meet Dave" the Eddie Murphy classic....(He likes working with Murphys apparently) so.......
Great, they used the British Pub from Half Moon Bay. Visit it to see, if is on the left side of the highway when you come into town from the south on highway 1.
I liked how the birdemic just stopped
Exploding birds? I'm in!
5:45 Looks more like projectile vomit or lethal poop. Probably not what the filmmaker had in mind. Hope to catch the Rifftrax Live!
Well I see Kevin is back from his vacation, in the CORONA SPHERE OF A STAR.....
