Fun fact, the song is actually a callback to Mixxy asking if she knew any Dolly Parton because “I Will Always Love You” was written by Dolly Parton.

    I love your recaps!
I found it fascinating that Mixxy claims that it's her family's farm - but then she didn't know how to get there (with or without the bus -- it's common to have navigation/survival/nature skills if you come from that environment), she didn't warn anyone that there wouldn't be reception, and that she wasn't more natural or assured when scaring off a bear.
I agree the mom knows more than she's letting on. Just from her hiding that picture and grieving in a delayed way - but she could be hopeful? She seems to deflect a lot of Suzie's simple questions.
I do think Mixxy is involved with the potential kidnapping of Sunny (given her deep knowledge of how to modify the bots, and she was new to her bartending job etc). I also think that her lack of concern when that guy appeared - even though they were allegedly LOST (so there's no other reason he would be there) was telling, since he looks like a comic-book bad guy. They've made Suzie into a strong-willed sceptic, but they rely on her naivety a LOT to move the plot forward.
I also like that they're giving Sunny more of a human-like agency to make her own decisions, experience jealousy, become mistrusting based on social cues.. I think the robot massacre happened the day of the concert. I think Massa could have created her as a prototype during his hikikomori days. I wonder what significance the Dad has in all of this (maybe helped him monetize it by getting it into the wrong hands?). I also think Sunny could have killed Massa, perhaps from jealousy, by finding out he's a bad person, or reprogramming/being hacked. I do think the foreshadow is indicating that she's murderous in some way. And they've never addressed the guy watching Suzie through Sunny's lens, or that she's constantly updating. She's definitely proprietary surveillance though.
I am interested in how Suzie has no other outside connections (siblings, friends, etc) just a long lost lover who enjoys granny panties. I wonder if Massa originally targeted her at the Ramen place. I can't wait to hear her back story though.

Sonny is definitely a higher generation of robot. The more expressive facial gestures was our first clue. Like Zen ... it's a sponge and wants learn. Also, Sonny is very protective of Suzie in the same way Zen would be at that age. The algorithm that allows Sonny to learn and grow and have a sense of personhood is what the Yakuza seem to be after.
I guess Hime has Sonny now. And I think Steve is right. Masa is still alive and Noriko has known he's been abducted all along. Seems like Hime and Masa are siblings. And the father uses both his kids to further his nefarious needs.
Masa definitely sought Suzie out as a mate because she doesn't seem to have any roots and thought he could hide his Yakuza family dynasty from her more easily than marrying a native-born Japanese.

This show started out with a pretty interesting idea but I'm sorry this episode was just dreadful. Not sure I can continue with this one.

Agreed. For 36 minutes and a tenth of the season we got about 5 minutes of actual plot progression.
I don’t think much of it was earned unless this episode somehow is revealed later to have had a completely different meaning.

I don't know if I'm going to enjoy the next episode as much because Sonny and Suzie's relationship is so fascinating to me. And they did answer some of my incredulity when it comes to Sonny's mobility with the extra tire treads for off-roading. But still don't see how Sonny maneuvers stairs or even small steps we see. Nevertheless, I love Sunny and want more and more.
