Thank you for doing this video. I didn't realize that this was his own brand. Sometimes it's a matter of trust regarding what you use for paint and brushes. The companies/brands that have been out for decades are what most tend to gravitate towards despite the high cost simply out of trust for something that had stood the test of time. Knowing that there's an alternative that is just as trustworthy and not as costly is awesome!

American Journey is one of my favorite brands of watercolor paint. I keep coming back to them after trying the other professional brands and appreciate the large tubes and variety of pigments.

I love American Journey watercolor paint. Re-wets so easily! Economical to buy the tubes and fill my pans. ❤️

These paints are nothing short of amazing. I started buying professional paints from Daniel Smith and Winsor and Newton because they were available in my local stores, but American Journey beats them all in my opinion. So creamy and highly pigmented. I love that so many colors are single pigment and how they look amazing when dry. I love how they move and mix.

Thanks for telling me about these paints. I'd love to see you work with them. Probably have in a different video. Right? I just need to look....

Actually, I really DID wonder about this very subject. Fairly new to this channel and my only other reference to American Journey was from watching Rick Surowicz watercolor tutorials here on You Tube .. He used this brand I had never heard of American Journey.. ; ) I also noticed his palette and I have been wanting it for the LONGEST time .. Finally had some extra cash a few months ago but to my great disappointment it was out of stock .. *gasp* lol .. Eagerly awaiting its return to stock. In the meantime.. this was a very interesting and informative story .. thanks ! : D

Rick Surowicz is great, isn't he? Love his studio setup! So is Cheap Joe's. Used to work there, wish I still did, but I'm a million miles away. 😥The most cost effective place to buy art supplies. The greatest people! ❤️

Rick IS great and also seems very nice! He was one of the first people I watched on UA-cam.
      Fantastic artist but extremely humble.

Can I layer Acrylic paint over watercolor paint? New to watercolor... new to anything related to art at 68... never too late!😄 Maybe I just don't understand enough about watercoloring yet. I saw Quinacridone Fushia Acrylic in your lesson. Love all shades of Fushia - magenta, etc. Thank you for your videos... always good! A grateful California gramma 😄🌴🌺

You can put acrylic over watercolor but not the other way around :)

A gouache that easily re-wets would be industry mind blowing but I'm guessing oils.
