WTF Happened to WILL FERRELL?

- As comedian Will Ferrell walked across the magnificent stage of The Kennedy Center to accept the greatest honour an American funny person can receive: The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, something happened that made us all remember why he is getting this prestigious honour. The award instantly slipped from Will’s hilarious fingers, shattering this legendary humorist’s bust all over the floor. An obvious gag, that was so damn fitting to what Will represents in the history of the art of doing silly stuff. Without breaking character for a second, Will hilariously tries to pick up the pieces as the world just sits back and laughs… but not laughing at him; we are laughing with him. The appeal of Will Ferrel comes from his innocent attitude that elevates simple stupid jokes to performance art. As Mr. Ferrell once said, “What I recognized when I started doing comedy was that I'm probably not the wittiest, not the fastest on my feet, but the one thing I can guarantee is that I won't hold anything back.” And that funny philosophy of not holding back put this man on top of the comedy world, delivering hit after hit before he hit an inevitable wall.

"Stranger than Fiction" is Ferrell's most underrated performance, and shows that he's great at playing low-key, understated characters.
That’s one of my favorites
He is ..I agree
One of the most original dramas I have witnessed. I have seen less than 10 original decent movies across all genres. Over the last 15 years, this is one of them!
He was nominated for a Golden Globe, Saturn, and Satellite Award for his performance.
Definitely not underrated.
One of my favorite movies ever. Will Ferrell’s best, for sure. But made me love Maggie Gyllenhall!
If I had a penny for the amount of times that Will Ferrell has played a corrupt businessman in a movie based on a popular toy line, then I'd have two pennies. Which isn't a lot, but it's odd that it's happened twice.
The timeline of this video is all over the place.
It kind of gave me whiplash, who wrote this script?
clickbait title too
He was a supporting character in the biggest movie of 2023, I don’t think he’s going anywhere
Well if you watched the whole video the creator agreed 💯 😂
Alan Ladd was in the big land 1957 with Edmond o brien
"Gator don't take no shit!"
I loved Land of The Lost! The mosquito scene and the "Do you believe in love" scene are Timeless!
His role in "Wedding Crashers" is still one of the funniest things I have ever see in a comedy movie, the whole part at his house and the funeral scene😂😂😂. Man he was amazing
MOM!! THE MEATLOAF!!! FUCK!!!!
That and was caught off guard when i saw him in his reoccurring role in Eastbound and down. His character is just awesome / hilarious 😄
makes me want meatloaf... the food not the singer
Alan Ladd was in boy on the dolphin 1957 with Monica bellucci
Step brothers and The Other Guys are two of the most absolutely hilarious movies ever and Will Ferrell was part of both.
Get hard was good to
Other guys sucks
@@Thiccness_Is_Delicious
BOOO
NAW dog, little river band is tits @@Thiccness_Is_Delicious
Alan Ladd was in this gun for hire 1942 the glass key 1942
I'm sorry, but "The Campaign" is freakin' hilarious.
Came to say the same. I love that movie.
Because UA-cam commenters are our nations backbone.
hahaha I like it your my boy BLUE @@jamespohl-md2eq
shoot me and my girlfriend now wife at the time have only seen in it theaters we need to watch it again
Alan Ladd was in 13 West street 1962 with rod Steiger
Eurovisión/Fire Saga is arguably his best film ever made!! Funny, heartfelt and a genuine love letter to an event he loves.
Idk how you can even begin to clam that Eurovision was part of a downfall
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed that film
My husband and I love this one and oddly enough my husband's name is Zachary.
I adore that movie. Such a guilty pleasure and one of my fond pandemic memories
good movie , good role , good acting -> but NOT CLOSE to stranger then fiction , that was his BEST film
The Campaign was hilarious
2004’s Starsky and Hutch you missed….
I never understood why Land of the lost got so much hate. It’s one of my favorite movies by him
I love that movie too. It’s probably the because the movie was very different from the older show. I enjoy Land of the Lost but it does seem to have a different feel from the show which came out in the 60’s, I think
Agreed, it's fucking awesome.
I can quote the entire movie. It’s one of my favorite films of all time.
For real, I love that movie. Same with Semi Pro. They're not his best but they are nowhere near his worst
Lol for real, he gave daddy's home points for being funny, but bashes land of the lost? The scene with the spider eggs, the giant crab, giant mosquito biting him, and the way he just explains that Danny Mcbride character decided to stay behind to the devils canyon worker at the end of the film. Hilarious
His humor is hilarious. Whether he's playing a cheerleader, an elf, Alex Trebek, shooting himself in the neck with a tranquilizer gun or just being interviewed while completely ignoring the bird on his shoulder.. Doesn't matter, he always kills it. And he does have acting chops which can be seen in Stranger than Fiction. Another comedic great from my favorite group The Groundlings.
He is immensely talented. I think he just (sometimes) needs to choose better roles.
Don’t forget playing George W Bush, what a star!
3 movies/3 scenes have made me laugh so hard I fell over, and one of them was the tranq dart to the neck in Old School.
@@constantobjects "Hey be careful with that.." 🎯
"Yes! Awesome! You just took one to the jugular man!" 😅
Needs more Eastbound and Down. Whooo.
As someone who quit watching SNL about a year before Will Ferrell joined, I'm glad to have so many ways to see classic bits from his time there. I still don't think I would have enjoyed the show overall by that point, but he was a real bright spot.
Will Farrell is a mega star. Not sure why anyone thinks anything happened. It is impossible to hit the mark every time.
"The Campaign" does NOT get talked about enough, just sayin'.
Zach Galifianakis
+Will Ferrell

He is such a huge part of my life from my childhood reviving SNL after “The Bad Boys” left to the original go to for “Netflix and Chill” nights in college(before Netflix streaming existed 😜) to stuff I still laugh at as an adult and now stuff I can share with my kids like Eurovision - The Story of Fire Saga.
Thank you for so many great memories!
Talladega Nights is my favorite. Will Farrell comedy
I cant decide between it and the other guys! He and Adam mckay falling out is a disaster for all of humanity
To me, “Spirited” will become that Christmas movie - I love musicals and tap dance, and I am a fan of Will Ferrell 😊❤🎉
I loved Daddy's Home. It's one of our favorite family films. But nothing beats Old School
Get hard
He was part of my generation of SNL performers, the ones that I watched the most of.
He was actually one of the best parts of "Barbie" recently. He was so fucking hilarious as always, his running scenes were so funny
Land of the Lost and The Campaign are some of my favorite Will Ferrell movies!
I remember seeing him on the set of "Talladega Nights." I was an extra. He was rather nice for the brief moments I saw him.
Glad to hear it, I have this theory that the more talented you are the nicer you behave, smart, talented people have no egos.
I would love to see Will Ferrell in a season of Severance - could be a perfect fit.
I loved "The Oblongs"..
anchorman 2 and achorman 2.5 (edited with alternate jokes) were both funny as hell.
Nothing. He is still rocking strong!
Jesus Old School is so good
frank the tank!
you're crazy man, you're crazy- i like you
You got a fuckin dart in your neck, that's awesome!
Alan Ladd was in appointment with danger 1950 with Paul Stewart Jack Webb jan sterling
the campaign was hilarious.
My sister and I got so much laughter out of Holmes and Watson. She had cancer and she was funny, so when the line "would you like a shot of heroin" was spoke...we laughed. I'm not sure if the movie still holds up, but the memory sure does.
I’m happy you have good memories with that movie. That’s special.
my dad and i reference the campaign to this day
"where'd you get that one, out of the big book of bad ideas?"
I personally effing love The Campaign and Land of the Lost. Def not some of his worst material!
My favorite Will Ferrell character he’s ever played is Ashley Schaefer in eastbound and down lol 😂 season 1&3 are the best
Probably the most quotable comedic actor of all time.
I Love Spirited!! It should be a classic, every year watch.
I think he's doing fine, and will be good for a long time
awesome spot on
I actually love him in Kicking and Screaming
Thank you! I cant believe we're the only ones to comment on that 6 days after the video was posted
I absolutely love Stranger Than Fiction. Little did he know.
Ferrell has some great moments and characters, there's no doubt ab that, but I gotta say, I could likely never rewatch another of his performances and wouldn't miss a thing ab him
I love this channel and will Ferrell!
What I like about Will Ferrell is he approaches comedy like a method actor. The humour is found in how completely straight he plays the strangest characters and how much he commits to the bit. Also, I liked Spirited. It's really good, just stuck on a small streamer
Land of the lost was fuckin hilarious. Fight about it😂
Stranger Than Fiction is one of my all-time favorite movies. The Land of the Lost is terribly underrated. It's definitely one of those stoner comedies, in my opinion. Mostly because I like to smoke a bunch of weed about it and watch Will Ferrell movies. 😂
Damn, Will Ferrell had crazy hits. He’s got like 10 bonafide classics
Will Ferrell's One-liners from get hard were gold.
The campaign underrated fr
The campaign might be one of the last good comedies.
Easily one of my favorites
One of the Goats 🐐
That small cameo is Starsky and Hutch was hilarious
Eurovision is a great fucking movie and a wonderful feel good movie and underappreciated film as well.
I agree! Eurovision is not for everyone, people who watch the Eurovision contest every year find it absolutely hilarious! I love this movie
I loved Land of the Lost. Dont know why but i found it hilarious.
Because it was and you have good taste in comedy. It's not even a "so-bad-it's-good" situation either. Its just a hit or miss, like Napoleon dynamite. And plus you have the added chemistry of the comedic stylings of danny mcbrown
I love that he keeps trying different things as an actor....... Like, he made his millions and can absolutely afford to take a risk with his roles. We should applaud that.
I'm frankly surprised he hasn't tried to do horror or thriller. I feel like he would be terrifying
LIVING LEGEND!! ✊😊👊😆👍👌🍁
Stopping in the middle of the video. We watched Spirited again this Christmas. 2 is on the way to being a tradition.
Will Ferrel in, er..is, AWESOME SAUCE!
Sometimes you just capture lightning in a bottle. Every king has their reign then its over. I'm just glad I saw it in real time.
He definitely goes down as one of the the greats! Semi-pro is top of the list for and Old School!!!
In high school, he was very different. He played football. I only know bc i known people who knew him and look at his year book. Lol.
He was hilarious in Eastbound and Down
He just needed to use a little more cowbell.
Its easy to forget since his characters are so similar sometimes, but watching this video reminded me how insane Will Ferrels career is. Most funny actors have one or two flops and kind of give up, but Will Ferrell comes back from every flop he's ever had
Stranger than Fiction proved Ferrell could act.
Didn't mention the Brilliant Shrink next door he did with Paul Rudd on apple tv. He was incredible in that, as was paul Rudd, well worth a watch for those who haven't seen it
He is on the island list. There dont need a video
He also produced The Menu, which is really good!
Didn't even mention eastbound and down
“Get Hard” is underrated
"Who's streaking!?"
Will and ben stiller make funny comedy duo together.
I just recently watched a bunch will ferrell movies. So many good quotes. I still love will ferrell. If you don’t like will farell. We probably don’t get along
Holmes& Watson deserved the shit can it was horrible
What about Dragon from Starsky and Hutch😂😂😂
To me he has nothing to prove. He's a rare talent. I even love him in Curious George
Never knew he was in the "Oblongs" mind blown.
I love will Farrell
Ferrel looks like JBL in that Campaign clip
I dont know what i should do with my hands.
His Austin Powers character is gold 😅
Don't forget he was also in Spirited.
Land of the Lost is by far my favorite film.
You sound like somebody who got sick of his form of comedy but i'm always here for it
I love Will Ferrell
Green Team! Green Team! Greeen Teeeam!
Did I miss it or did he forget about Eastbound and Down?
It definitely should've gotten a mention!
Will Ferrell is def top 3 all time snl cast members if talking about just work done on snl
“Hansel, he’s so hot right now, Hansel”
Will ans Ron Perlman never been seen in the same room at the same time
I can't believe Tep Brothers is 20 years old...I can't believe it
Shaun of the dead is turning 20 this year as well, time is flying by
Ashley Schaefer BMW!
Please give us Anchorman 3!
I mean, it says it was executive produced by Will Ferrell in the opening credits of Succession
nice ^-^
I loved when he was on the Office. It was only a couple episodes, but it was a good time
Your videos are great, just a suggestion for editor: dont use the radio eq filter on the quotes, it's infuriating :D
6 days and only one comment about kicking and screaming? That film is just as funny and well produced/directed as Old School, Talladega Nights, and Stepbrothers. With the great cameos by Mike Ditka, Phill Lewis, Kate Walsh, Martin Starr, and Robert Duvall, it's Old School for the aging frat-boy audience's young children.
Will Ferrell is just the newest "guy who always shouts", replacing Jerry Stiller.
One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen is him holding back tears after John C Reilly made fun of his taunts at dinner in Step Brothers. 😂🤣
