While pumping unlimited fortunes into youth setup which they now sell the players from to keep net spend down.
And those are the "legal" things they were doing that we know about.
Newcastle wont ever be City because when the new tv revenue money came in, other teams were able to spend alot more money but by then City had their head start. It was a case of perfect timing for them, good player purchases and having a generational coach with a sprinkle of 115 charges.

The benefit Arne Slot will have over Ten Hag is Liverpool have a proper structure in place. The sporting director and his team will be finding players that fit the system. The worst thing would be Slot thinking he can raid his old team. We saw with Ten Hag that players from the Eredivisie just aren't at that level.

Then the following season Arsenal finished a point behind United’s treble winners.
That happened another time each for both clubs, finishing 1 point off or within a few points.
No one said “ Arsenal would’ve won more titles if not for this United team.”

Mark has said on his own stream that because Utd had competition and rivalry in those dominating years then its not the same as City's dominance now. Which I don't agree with because Liverpool would've won most the PLs if City weren't there. Its a slight bias, but we all have them. Even with both Utd and City dominating in their respective eras the football hasn't been boring.
Arsenal had Timber out all season, Partey and Tomiyasu for the majority, Jesus and Martinelli have been in and out with injuries all season. We've had our fair share of injuries, maybe not as bad as some, but we haven't been lucky.
And Man City have been well under their own brilliance and still going to win the league
Timber out? Tomiyasu and Ben White can cover, Partey out? Rice, Jorginho can cover, Jesus out? Havertz can cover, Martinelli out? Trossard can cover. You have class players to replace your minimal injuries. United have had to play Casemiro at CB, start youngsters in midfield and attack. You have been very lucky with injuries. Doesn't take away from how impressive you have been though.

Having no injuries isn’t luck. It’s good fitness management. It’s world class from the coaching staff and training. Arsenal mostly have a squad of a reliable players. You don’t buy injury prone players. Don’t call Arsenal lucky. The other clubs need better recruitment and fitness trainers

Ben, Liverpool's record without Salah has been better than with him this season and it's very rare that he's "grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck" in the past two seasons, so I don't feel that he's as pivotal as you seem to believe at this point. He is definitely not the player that he was a few seasons back. That said, Salah is also about to enter into new contract talks and the club seem to believe that he wants to stay.
You just can't talk about Man City dominating without talking about the charges. Because the charges are the reasons they dominate. It's much much easier to dominate and win when you cheat.
And I agree that the point deductions have to be made before of the season, but what about the 115 charges? It's basically the same. Then what happens if they decide City has to get a huge sanction? (they won't but still). Some clubs missed CL spots. Some teams missed PL titles. This means money, exposure,...
The injury and mentality thing is so true and people just don't talk about it. At the end of Wenger's tenure apart from obvious problems to Rosicky and Wilshere and Ramsey who've had some really bad injuries that has hurt their careers there were some players who would be out and Wenger would say 2-3 weeks and they are out for longer and then they come back and again they fall injured. There clearly was a mentality issue at the club at that point of time.
I just wonder how much that is true. I remember in 17/18 home game against United Mustafi makes terrible mistakes and United are 2-0 in the first 10 mins and Mustafi just signals to the bench that he wants to come off, when it is not even clear what happened. He just seemed to make his usual brainfart mistakes. When asked post match Wenger said he had no clue what was wrong with Mustafi and to every fan it was clear that he just wanted come off because he didn't want to take ownership of his mistakes and pretend he had an injury. i think he was back or was on the bench next game as well. It was just pathetic.

City and Arsenal have proved that having a positional style of play with control is the best way to handle unnecessary injuries and maintain consistency in team selections.. Newcastle and Liverpool having a intense pressing system has led to them having terrible injuries.. United and Chelsea have no style and they have had injuries as well.. Can't say it's lucky, it's an aspect of this long term grind having players who understand that and recover well for it. Club understands that where squad planning is key, having backups in positions where they have injury prone players..

I think people look at the scoreline in the NLD in the first half and have created this arsenal dominated narrative they were just very clinical and spurs made their own mistakes

For me the title was lost when LFC lost against Palace. LFC new manager needs to offload Nunez & Jota and bring in so proper finishers upfront. Jota is made of glass & Nunez just isn't prolific. Salah and Diaz were at their best when they had reliable and quality players to work with upfront but watching them now you can see there is no chemistry upfront.

If Man City win the league, the season can be summed up with the fact that Aston Villa put out the reserves and against Man City and lost without a fight but a few weeks later, strongest XI against Arsenal and beat them.
Villa were missing their best player this season Douglas Luiz who played against City and missed the game against Arsenal, also Arsenal played weak Liverpool at emirates without Salah and Trent, Arsenal played weak Man City at emirates without Rodri KDB
