The Jeep is not computer controlled for driving, AND it has no auto-pilot. You cannot hack it. The Tesla is computer controlled for driving, has auto-pilot - - yes a driver has to be behind the wheel, as required by Tesla and most states (but there's UA-cam videos of Tesla drivers completely asleep at the wheel). It is also possible for no one to be in a Tesla, and you can "summon it" to pick you up at a door - but it's probably not legal in some states, & probably not recommended by Tesla. Sooo - it might be possible to hack & auto-pilot a Tesla.

I get a queasy feeling when I'm sitting in a car and the diagnostic device revs the engine, but at least the clutch cant be operated by this. But these self-driving cars really scare me. If the brake pedal is also electric, you really can't do anything if the vehicle wants to drive off with you.

Besides, again, those cars are not the Borg from Star Trek, they are autonomous, act independently of one another. Even if they were made with a virus attached from the assembly line, resources to make those cars will dry up quickly. So quickly, even 1/4th of these cars wouldn't be made. Not to mention this movie was a hitpiece against Musk
Funnily enough, these cars are as ecofriendly as diesel - the energy they are charged with must come from somewhere. What's even funnier, if they downed the power grid in USA in that movie, how do they know the assemly line makes fresh, 100% powered up cars? Plus, if those cars are made in one state, do you really think they will go any further than the state they're made in, without recharging them? That's why this movie is stoopid.

I get a queasy feeling when I'm sitting in a car and the diagnostic device revs the engine, but at least the clutch cant be operated by this. But these self-driving cars really scare me. If the brake pedal is also electric, you really can't do anything if the vehicle wants to drive off with you.

@@bigyolo9957 You'll be surprised at how much fire a battery can catch, I had two 12v batteries blow up from a failed charger and it was insane, I can't imagine a whole EV battery if a cell gets damaged
