Nomato Sauce (Tomato Sauce Substitute)

  • This recipe was based off of the Classic Nomato Sauce posted by Nicole of HealMeDelicious.com. It is a nightshade free, autoimmune protocol recipe that happens to also be paleo and vegan. We use it in all our tomato-based recipes... spaghetti, lasagna, and chili. You cannot tell the difference between this sauce and traditional tomato sauce.
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin)
    • 10 cloves garlic, minced (I use the prepared garlic in a jar)
    • 2 white onions, diced
    • 2 cups butternut squash, diced
    • 2 cups celery, diced
    • 2 cups carrot, diced
    • 3 medium-sized red beets, diced
    • 2 teaspoons rosemary, dried
    • 2 teaspoons oregano, dried
    • 2 teaspoons thyme, dried
    • 2 teaspoons basil, fresh or dried
    • 4 teaspoons sea salt
    • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
    • 4 cups water
    • 2 teaspoons honey
