- I used my GoPro Hero 10 to film my batting innings during my village cricket match against Bourne Cricket Club. The best match I have played since joining the club. Highlight was one of their quicks giving some proper chin music.

Just to clarify as I’ve played in this league and live 20 mins from this ground. It’s not that village. Woodhall themselves have had Fawad Alam play for them and Matt carter has played most of the season whilst still with the Trent rockets. It’s a decent standard

Most teams in this league have an overseas pro. Only the stronger sides in the league have the infrastructure to afford a high quality pro. The two best pro's in this league are PJ and Henry Cooper (Sleaford cc) by a distance. This is ECB Premier League cricket. The standard is excellent maybe except for the bottom 3 sides who are poor at this level.

I was disgusted by the behaviour of the Bourne player who said he would attempt to break your camera and then what looked like to me deliberately bowled short pitched deliveries which in my opinion falls under the law “41.6 Bowling of dangerous and unfair short pitched deliveries”. Great win for Woodhall, shame on you Bourne!!! Especially because they bowled all that crap short stuff!
Do we know if they were all in a row though? I got the impression they were across a few overs.
@@mippyaya Rule "41.6.2 The bowler’s end umpire may consider that the bowling of short pitched deliveries, although not dangerous under 41.6.1, is unfair if they repeatedly pass above head height of the striker standing upright at the crease." This may be why the umpire called no ball (Rule 21.10). Yes bowl bouncers but this was not done in the spirit of the game! Additional prove of this bowler's thuggishness is when he fielded the ball and tried to throw down the stumps while Gareth was still in the crease.

Loving the debate.. From my perspective I enjoyed the challenge of facing some chin music. The umpires were good at making sure any balls too high were called no balls and that the appropriate number of short balls were bowled each over 👌 but yes the bowler was feeling it at the end of the spell 😂
@@mippyaya Its not about bouncers, player's abilities or premier cricket, its about the spirit of the game - Yes try and get under the skin of the batsman but I believe this was a step too far.

What a performance! Thoroughly enjoyable to watch and appreciate mate, you guys definitely earned a performance like that, from as you say, the amount of work you put in and the way in which you are trying to play!To be able to play alongside and sometimes at the crease with an Ex Pro must be a joy...and it seems there is always someone willing to put their hand up with a good performance. Great knock by Pras and Cas again..and didn’t Will take 4-5 catches and a stumping with the gloves!? But also a very fine innings in reply by Bourne’s Carl Wilson too, those switch hits! Great stuff again Gareth, that’s why there is so many of us cricket nuts here mate. 👍

Surely the bowler at 14:55 is chucking? Might look different from 20 yards but I'd be a bit unhappy if I was facing that! Love the channel
It doesn't really matter to be honest, chucking looks rancid but at lower level cricket its harmless - barely anyone at thislevel bowls quicker than 60mph. Some people can't help it - I know a guy who can't bowl without chucking it a bit due to an issue with his rotator cuff. Are we supposed to ban him from bowling/playing a game he loves because of it?
@@MikeCornwall always tend to find that lads that have a bit of a chucky action tend to hoop it, which is quite annoying playing against..

Seems to be a big range in standard in this comp, that was some good hard cricket. Almost makes me want to pull on the whites (and play a lower standard of cricket)! That run of sharp chances in the slips tho, who’d be a bowler! 🤪

Great content. I feel like I'm there. However, I noted that the left armer in your team who picked up the 4th wicket jerks his arm.
I remember 6months ago i had to play for an u19 tournament and every u19 guy was like a giant to me, I went 3down and the good length deliveries were bouncing to my head, hated batting at that time but after a couple of minutes I got used to it and scored 43 off 20 under pressure taking the team to a total of 119 runs in t20 (also I'm u15 )
