This really helps with singling out exactly what needs work! When I saw your Reactionary/Proactive chart, I knew instantly how to describe my shortcomings when playing Marth (I rely too much on stray hits and fish for reversals WAY too much, which makes me predictable, bottlenecks Marth, and makes me feel like I can't make reads). Love to see this content! I feel like Marth vids about the mental aspect are hard to come by and they seem to be your specialty.
Nice breakdown! The pause between aggression in particular is something I find very effective with Marth. His true combos are limited, so it can be very beneficial to wait and get a good to great punish as opposed to pushing too much like trying to get another hit in a string that may or may not work out. The pause can also be useful to position yourself for a potential tipper and your Sephiroth clip is a perfect demonstration for it!
I appreciate the feedback, I agree completely, taking a chance on the hard punish is always super nice when it works out rather than just trying to get that last fair or up air. Thanks for watching!
I feel like I've subconsciously understood some of this while playing marth but it's very helpful to have someone break it down and explain It well. It's kind of opened my eyes and it just makes sense what you're saying. Thanks for the lesson dude and I'm hype for the upload!
@@stockstew420 Thanks for watching! I feel the same way a lot of the time before I make the videos. It may have been something I didn't think about myself until I actually sit down to write the script. Making them makes me understand Marth more myself. Here's the song, it's called Deep Blue - www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/deep-blue
@@10cheesburgers It helps that you know how yo explain things well man. And yo wth youtube didn't give me a notification about your reply so I didn't notice thanks much for the link!
I was going through your old video catalog last night cause I picked Marth up again. And I was just thinking "Oh, this guy hasn't posted in a while". This was a nice thing to see the first time I checked UA-cam today. As for something I'd like to see... A short nairplane guide. The move can apparently combo into F-smash at certain percents?, but I've never got the combo counter to read as true when I land it. And I can't find a guide that has the inputs specified.
Hmm, I think I know what you're talking about. The main thing is that you want to be moving forward at full speed and fast fall after the nair. If you do it at the right time and percents then it should register as a true combo. Thanks for watching!
The main thing I would suggest is knowing when to hold back. If you see Sephiroth kind of holding one side of the stage it's cause he wants you to approach and be walled out by his range. I'd say it's slightly comparable to fighting other ranged characters like Min Min or even Shulk. The game plan for Marth changes a lot from characters like Mario where you can just outright outrange them. You DO NOT have a range advantage, so you have to use the edge in speed you have to cut through his wall. I hope this helps!
Bro im gonna literally learn from these videos so HARD its gonna make you silly. (I still wont be good tho hehe lol)....................................................nerd.
I had to fight through allergies to bring you this video. :)
Follow up video: “How to be passive aggressive when you lose as Marth”
bruhhh lmao

I love having more marth content creators to look at for new ideas or ideas to build upon other ideas ! Thank you !

Might I ask what is the song you used at the beginning? The one that comes in right after the intro? I would like to download it if possible.

@@stockstew420 thanks, anytime.
Thank you very much Tray. I will be able to use this information well on the battles ahead.
Please post again. I don’t play Marth basically at all, but I find him so fun. Your videos are so informative.
I think a Marth vs this character series would be cool because sometimes I find it hard trying to find out what to do vs specific matchups
traystigo of the traystigo youtube channel hello
It is I, hello!
The moment I find a Smash channel dedicated to Marth, it’s been inactive for over a year.
Fuck…
Yeaaa.... I'm sorry man. Maybe one day.
@@10cheesburgers it’s okay man! You do what you want and need to do! I just appreciate you leaving the channel up.
Great break down bro always good to learn from your Marth videos

Awesome video!!!!!
Very good Traystigo. I enjoyed this. It's about time for people to be educated on Marth and stop making excuses.
Really helpful video, thank you!
Yessir ! A post!

Still interested in Projectiles 2 and 3 if you think those are going anywhere.
Thanks man. Really solid advice. Also, idk how you win against Sephiroth as Marth.
