Prismatic shards can be like that, it's a 4% chance of dropping from every iridium node. Sometimes you get a bunch other times you get none in runs. Also for the iridium clump when a clump is going to form on a floor there is only a ~1-2% chance for it to be an iridium clump and this is not effected by any luck you can gain in the game.
It would be really cool if there was a mod that made it so that Perfectuon is completable within a 2 year time period like the Community Center Year 1 Guaranteed option that's already in the game. It could tackle some of the more RNG-dependent stuff such as making sure all the special orders show up and that there's always at least 2 snake spines that show up on Ginger Island after you unlock it.
@@colby2403 I think what you're referring to is the fossilized spine of the large animal? Sadly, the snake vertebrae can only be found through artifact spots 😔
Looks like you've done the math and have things optimised that, in the end, RNG will decide if you pass or fail the run, that kinda sucks. Though if you did allow save scumming you could get different outcomes from the worms in the ground - as what they have changes every time you sleep with a 10% chance of disappearing overnight. Honestly the way the Museum's are designed is rather frustrating how almost all of it is 100% luck based. It'd be funny to see someone on a normal playthough be like "took me seven years to get this last artifact"
The artifact spot and what you get from there is mostly predetermined, everything inside geode is also predetermined, you could check that in stardew pridictor to know what you're gonna get from all 4 geodes.
My roommate literally did multiple years of in-game time to get all the artifacts. At one point she was playing every day after work and just walking around checking artifact spots. Mumbling to herself. Clay. Clay. Clay. Clay...
@@thump989 Hey mate: if you are having difficult finding ancient seed. Just go to sewer or mine lvl 10-20 to kill some bugs. They drop it too. Just go there on lucky days and kill them. I got mine like summer in my current file. WoS made me play the game once more so I try speerunning with him xD.
Hey! Even if RNG fails us, please end the run anyway! I wouldn't mind getting an extra episode or something like it updating us on how much extra time was needed, or updating what you did around the farm, or even other cool things to be done (like the cinema) that are not on the list of the run (this is also me asking for more stardew episodes 'cause I love them

I remember when i found out how you get snake spines and immediately said to myself "oh no...!" when i realize just how rare that is without even having to hunt for it yet, just simply cause i realize how rarely i seen a artifact spot there to begin with. If you lose cause of the rng, then at least you will proved all other things are possible outside of anything requiring rng which to me is still a accomplishment

In my experience there's always one artifact per run that gives me trouble, and it's always a "common" drop. Last time it was the fan, but I've also had issues getting one of the dwarf scrolls to drop, to the point of spending multiple in-game days going through the relevant mine levels over and over. I've noticed this is a thing for other players, too, so I'm grateful for the artifact troves. As always, the music and captioning is great; your videos are so relaxing!

This episode is just as entertaining as all the others!! Can I say I think you do a really great job balancing the amount of info you’re giving with the captions! Even though there is so much going on it’s never too much or too little, and it sounds really natural - makes it so relaxing to watch!! This run is incredible and I would actually love to try it myself!! I have been putting together a kind of routing document, but if you have any tips for how you put together your run or anything you’ve learned from trying it and would like to share I would love to hear it :) no pressure though
I would say the most important thing is making sure you're on a good pace to get the gold clock and the obelisks. In my first Perfection run, I had almost everything else done in winter Year 2 but I was nowhere close to the gold clock. Apart from that, try to hoard as much stuff as possible, because you never know when you might need it. Good luck, and have fun!

I got stardew valley mid summer and played a lot and jsut finished the community center and was starting to feel i was coming to the end of the game and after watching this playthrough has inspired me to play some more and try to complete it to perfection. I never knew there was so much more to this game

Fingers crossed that the RNG works out for the snake spines and the quests you need! In my own attempt I've just got my first snake spine in the middle of Spring year 2 (and have successfully completed the special order quests which are the most RNG reliant) but things will be tighter on the money side of things as I didn't get my first ancient fruit seed until late fall so am relying on less valuable crops for the main farm (currently 700 strawberry plants, with seeds obtained using the seedmaker and the greenhouse from 10 strawberries I kept from Spring year 1).
I hope the last few things show in good time I've been really looking forward to this episode and tbh I'm kinda sad that the next episode is the last one cuz I've really enjoyed it although it will be satisfying to see you actually pull it off assuming RNG plays nice.

Love seeing more vids! One quesion tho - why don't you use coffee and/or a horse in your run? In my experience, getting around faster helps me get more done in a day, & the coffee stacks with the horse speed.
Coffee, and food speed, and horse speed also all stack. Nothing like buying 100 crab cakes from GuS after that special order, as Crab cakes last the entire day its an entire day of speed boost. But by the looks of things, its not that he needs to do much more in a day, when a lot of it is reliant on RNG for the right things to show up in time to make it. No amount of extra steps in a day will make the artifact drop - though he could save scum to change RNG for artifact drops, if you don't get it, reload, sleep, the next day the things in the ground changes. 10% for it to disappear overnight, if it doesn't you can hoe the spot again for different outcomes.
I have a stack of triple shot espressos that I'll have going whenever I want to speed things up. I don't always need to have them going though, we're at the point now where we can mostly relax a bit.

You can get the spine from fishing in the river by the dig site. I got it in about half a day of fishing there

it took me until year 4 to get a rare disc - i wasn't trying super hard to get all the artifacts until year 3, but still...
