I begged my parents to take me to see this. We went to a drive in and my mom slept through most of it. One year my boyfriend and I held a New Year’s Eve party. We timed the mid night scene in the movie when the boat capsized to the exact time that new years. So many people said they had always wanted to see it but never had.
My favourite disaster movie. Ive a friend whos going on a cruise to celebrate new year. I warned him not to watch this movie before he goes. It wasnt long after he died that i found out that im related to Roddy McDowall.

It was sad when Mrs. Rosen died, after swimming to the other side, with the rope. And when Akers died, when the funnell exploded, and also Rogo's wife. I still think the preacher could have swung and grabbed onto something and made it.
For those who treasure Disney's Zorro TV series from 1957 to 1959, Jan Arvan, who played the doctor in The Poseidon Adventure, was Diego De La Vega's neighbor Don Nacho Torres, who was accused of treason and arrested by Comandante Monastario during the first 8 episodes of that unforgettable series.
