Rafael Nadal - is a very very very rare occurrence and I’m glad to be witnessing him while his achievements are on-going. To me he is the greatest role model one can have as a Tennis player, as a sportsperson, as a professional and as a human being.

Jeffrey. Agreed. I think he will find a way, and even if it means surgery, I think his physical quality of life will be ok. How a man with such a disabling condition could have achieved so much is hard to fathom. How many would have simply retired and admitted to their limitations so many years ago.

What separates Rafa from anyone else is what he says right here - "If I lose, the opponent should beat me". I remember him talking about that epic Wimbledon 2008 final the same way. If I remember right, there were several rain interruptions, including one before the final set where they were able to talk to their coaches. Rafa said to Toni something like this, "I will not lose this game. If it happens, it's because Federer took his chances. But I will not give him it." And this was when he was 21 years old. What an absolute champion.

RIGHT. That mentality is what has gotten him through everything seeing as he's been injured with the foot problem since 2005.

Of course any one can do it if you get injection. Definitely Nadass is the Lance Armstrong of tennis. He is always got injured but miraculously he is perfectly healthy for the clay season. Tennis is an eleven months sport. He faked injury so he can have advantage over other players. He is a sheep dressed up as a goat. A doper a cheater turns tennis into a wrestling match.☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️

I prefer how Roger plays/looks on court when playing well. I shout for Roger in their duels, but I believe - rightly or wrongly - that Roger has a greater external belief in how special he is, while Rafa controls that aspect more carefully. In simple terms, I feel Rafa comes across as more humble. I heard first hand from a former female number 1 that Rafa was the nicest of all

People don’t realize that the big 3 dominated the tennis sport for more than 15 years continuously. I believe we need many many more decades to finally recognise, and really recognise what an insane achievement this domination was. And it still holds on to today. I cannot believe it truly either. Nadal completely destroyed another next gen player in the final. Djoker will most likely win Wimbledon and it looks like djoker and nadal will be the favourites for US Open win. Insane

@@shanerg77 I beg to differ, I think Roger was more of an "asshole", esp during the period where he was chasing to break Samprass' GS record. Even worst than Djokovic, somehow. He would snap at tennis reporter, belittle his opponents, and often speak arrogantly. I noticed that he started to soften up once Rafa started to challenge his dominance in 2008. On the other hand, Rafa is Rafa. The only thing that has changed since he came on tour 2 decades ago is that he is no longer shy as he used to.

The synonym for transcendence is Rafa. Just to be clear that transcendence is not in the category of superlatives. Transcendence is the dissolution of thought that attempts to describe. It is prior to and beyond every description.
Rafa is not superhuman. On the contrary, he is fully human - he fully embraces suffering, he fully breathes self-doubt, he fully respects each and every player, each and every human being across the planet, he fully respects every tennis 🎾 racquet if he's not smashed a single one, he fully loves Real Madrid, he fully respects Roger and Novak, he fully loves humanity.
Transcendence when lived is humility, humility, humility. Rafa!

What a wonderful interview. Rafa is a guy with whom you can talk about everything and still get fascinated by the way he sees things. And one thing I can sense is that he is honest in the things he says. That's really what impacts you and leaves you with nothing but Thanks, thanks Rafa for your humbleness and kindness.

There are thousands of records in Tennis but there is only one record in Tennis history which everyone says would most likely never be broken and that is 14 Roland Garros titles.
From the one and only Rafael Nadal. He is the kind of guy who is born once in many centuries.

Same with Real Madrids 14 Uefa Champions league titles and Nadal being a big fan. Kinda ironic

      More unbreakable Records:
      1) Chris Evert's 125 Consecutive Clay match wins (1973-1979) will never be broken. From 1973-1982 she lost only 3 Clay Matches and won 199! 98.5%.
      2) Navratilova's 167 Single Titles.
      3) Federer's 36 consecutive QF or better at the Slams.
      4) Guillermo Vilas: 681 Clay Match Wins. Nadal 474.

It's wild that Nadal has the same amount of French Open titles than Pete Sampras has majors. Before the big 3 came along, Sampras was seen as the GOAT with sooo many majors (14) lol.

Truly fortunate to have witnessed such an amazing tennis player in my life, a genuine person with great life values and has without doubt inspired so many tennis players, sportsman and regular folk. It's rare to find people who can achieve so much in their life yet keep true to themselves. Even if Novak does exceed Rafas GS's he will never have the inner happiness and respect that people have for Rafa and Roger. If Rafa can keep going we are extremely lucky, if he doesn't.. then we are still lucky to have many years of UA-cam to look back on. 🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾...tbc

Roger & Rafa made each other. It was the best era, in the History of the sport. Novak is a very kind, happy person. I live in Europe and have seen them many times at Opens, practice courts etc. They all get along and grew up together. They spend more time together than they do with their owm families. Vamos Rafa!

Aside from all his trophies, accolades and achievements what's so astonishing about this man is that even to this day, when he comes out on the court he plays like he's broke....chasing for that 1st GS major title. Truly inspiring.😮
