He's made history. No one can beat the new record of 22 major trophies. If any, it must be Djoko. Humanity should wait half a century to see a greater clay emperor to show up.
Of course he wants to win more titles and secure his position as goat, he is obviusly lying in that regard. He wouldn't be risking his health and foot just for the love of the game, simple as that.
Mental approach to the game is important. Nadal is not lying in what he said because that's what he has in mind. Other players may have their own mental approach or the mindset. It's a choice to make for convenience purposes. In any case, Nadal must have thinking that no matter how much the health risk is, it hasn't reach the level where he has to forget tennis.
I am a 82 years old great mother who has been following Rafa from day 1! I am so proud of him in everyway. I pray that young boys and girls will see his love for the game, his honesty, and obvious love for even the ball boys and girls. He is truly an example to all of the sports world!!! My prayers are with him in the future decisions he has to make.

How can anyone ever talk smack on Rafa? Such a honest, thoughtful & awesome human being, I hope Rafa can win more slams & the 2024 Olympic Gold, the Olympic tennis will be held at Roland Garros
It's pretty amazing how he remembers every moment of the match point by point and every winner and mistake he made. He is like scanning the entire game all the time. What a mind!
He has had several confidence issues over the years- largely centered around his injuries. What will always be 100% is his effort level. A lot of athletes are hard workers, of course, but nobody gives more than Nadal.
If only everyone in the world were as humble, honest, straightforward, hard-working and grounded as this guy, this planet wouldn't be such a messed up place. Is there a better role model for anything, anywhere on Earth than Rafa?
What a wonderful human being. Rafael Nadal is the best tennis champion ever and a great example to all humanity. The "most important thing is the daily work". We all live by his wisdom. Always very intelligent and courteous.
What a gracious and human being. I love Rafa for the human being he is first ; before the tennis! He is always praising other players. Have never heard him talk about his prowess!
Rafa's mood was like mine watching ESPN's broadcast, i was like "can we just enjoy this victory instead of speculating about his retirement or whether he'll play Wimbledon? always the same pointless comparisons and worst case scenarios, which is ok i guess, but he just won a major title through particularly difficult health issues, it should be celebrated instead of pushing nostalgia and killing the vibe. Rafa reminds me once again to stay positive through every difficulty and just in general, i'm in awe today by what he's accomplished, and i hope he can keep going for at least another year, and even if he doesn't he'll remain one of my biggest inspirations, if not the biggest. Rafa’s prowess on the red dirt is unmatched. It’s amazing that he played without being able to feel his foot. That makes his accomplishment even more unbelievable. I pray that God will heal his foot so that he won’t have to be injected with anesthetics just to play tennis.🙏🏾

36 years young, he couldn't have hoped for a better birthday gift than to get his 14th French Open crown and 22nd slam overall. He's no longer the king of clay, he is the clay master. I just hope he can stay healthy enough to tie Margaret Court with 24 slams, and then set the record with number 25, within the next two years or so

Congratulations Rafa for everything you achieved in tennis. Keep giving us happiness in tennis court. You deserve more titles. Good luck. Iam following you since when you were young. Congratulations again
To ALL Nadal haters and naysayers, #14 🏆 is dedicated to you guys. Against all ODDS, Rafa overcame all obstacles thrown at him. One-sided draw, having to play at night session that he didn't want, having to play 4 top ten players on his way to the final. Message is quite clear: NEVER count Nadal out. RG is his castle and he is STILL the UNDISPUTED KING 🤴 of Clay! At 36yrs old, winning another RG title after the pundits, tennis experts/commentators, Djoko and Fed fan boys etc all wrote him off. What an unbelievable achievement for the ages. I would suggest to those Djoko riders who keep claiming NOVAX is the GOAT, you all need to bite it and STFU. Dear Rafa we love you so much and want you to go out on a high at the top of your game!! Please retire while you’re on top. Don’t let lesser players get a “scalp” against you in future slams. This is a beautiful victory. Respect how much your body has given you! Please retire, for our nerves - we live every point with you and always have! It’s exhausting! Haha! Enhorabuena!
I've been a tennis and cycling fan ever since I was a kid and to me Rafa Nadal is the best sportsman ever in history. His "never give up" attitude and his mental strenght should be studied. It is always a joy to see him overcome games which anybody else would have considered lost. Congrats on his 14th RG and againg. Only but the biggest admiration one can have for a sportsman. Chapeau! Rafa.
i am an ex tennis player , do you have any idea how hard it is to play with injections ?! you need to have a mental strength of a god to play comfortably knowing you can twist your ankle any moment (its always in the back of your head) that restrict you from performing ! this dude didn't only play like this ! he won the title like that ! AND NOT ANY TITLE ! GRAND SLAM BEST OF 5 ! i mean , love him or no , Tennis will never have anyone like him again ..
Congrats on RG14 and GS#22!You are one of the greatest ambassadors for our sport always! I remember watching you on Transworld sports in 2004. You then appeared in 2005 and the rest is 22 GS! Vamos forever our legend!
@Rafa undisputed Goat I don't think he'll play at Wimbledon. It's never been his favorite surface and I'd rather have him prioritize US open where he has had much more success than risk an injury playing on grass. He already suffered so much just to play the French Open!
Imagine this... he took injections to numb his foot nerves during these two to three weeks... just to play his favorite french open tournament... Hats off to his level of dedication... absolutely astounding... a lesson for all... focus on your goal, huddles will keep on coming... they should not deter you...

To put it in perspective, Novak, Roger and Rafa have won 15.5 years of majors between the three of them. My only wish would be none of the three would have ever been hurt to see how many more they would have won. Not many majors have been won from others during this era but there are a few. A true tennis dynasty from the era of the big three.
AMAZING PERFORMENCE BY RAFA.THE ACTUAL FINAL WAS WHEN HE BEAT DJOKOVIC.AS A PHYSICIAN I AM AMAZED AT TOLERANCE OF PAIN HE HANDLES AND GETTING LOCAL ANESTHETIC INJECTIONS ADMINSTERED BY HIS DOCTOR LOOSES FEELING IN HIS FOOT.SO HIS FOOT WORK WAS AMAZING.WITH NEWER TECHNOLOGIES HE CAN ABLATE THE NERVES WITH ULTRSONIC ABLATION THERAPY CAN PROLONG HIS PLAYING YEARS.MY HATS OFF TO HIM HE IS ALREADY 1/2 WAY THROUGH CALENDER SLAM.HE IS ULTIMATE GOAT NO 2QUESTIONS ABOUT IT.,MY BEST WISHES TO HIM FOR CALENDER SLAM.
The synonym for transcendence is Rafa. Just to be clear that transcendence is not in the category of superlatives. Transcendence is the dissolution of thought that attempts to describe. It is prior to and beyond every description. Rafa is not superhuman. On the contrary, he is fully human - he fully embraces suffering, he fully breathes self-doubt, he fully respects each and every player, each and every human being across the planet, he fully respects every tennis 🎾 racquet if he's not smashed a single one, he fully loves Real Madrid, he fully respects Roger and Novak, he fully loves humanity. Transcendence when lived is humility, humility, humility. Rafa!

@@bloghmm even with the new treatment works he'll still need to take Anti-inflammatories.
Hopefully the treatment this week works so rafa can make wimbledon 🙏
Well done Rafa king of tennis
A great sportman in the world also a great human being too. Vamos Rafa ❤️
Congratulations Rafa! Well done 👍😀
He’s ascended from King of Clay to God of Clay.
Muchas gracias !!! 🤗🎾
Yaaa se terminó.👏👏
Enhorabuena !!! 🏆
Toca descansar los huesitos.
Rafa's perspective on life is beyond amazing.
Love him 😁, very level headed and such a very humble person , huge congrats
God bless you and all and everything around you Rafael Nadal!!!
Dios te bendiga a ti y a todos y todo lo que te rodea Rafael Nadal!!!
i am an ex tennis player , do you have any idea how hard it is to play with injections ?! you need to have a mental strength of a god to play comfortably knowing you can twist your ankle any moment (its always in the back of your head) that restrict you from performing !
this dude didn't only play like this ! he won the title like that ! AND NOT ANY TITLE ! GRAND SLAM BEST OF 5 !
i mean , love him or no , Tennis will never have anyone like him again ..
I love you Rafa...🥰🥰 I hope your health condition improve greatly..
Congrats on RG14 and GS#22!You are one of the greatest ambassadors for our sport always! I remember watching you on Transworld sports in 2004. You then appeared in 2005 and the rest is 22 GS! Vamos forever our legend!
So happy for Rafa! Have been his biggest fan since 2005 as he was the only one that could beat Federer in those days. What an amazing champion!
@Rafa undisputed Goat I don't think he'll play at Wimbledon. It's never been his favorite surface and I'd rather have him prioritize US open where he has had much more success than risk an injury playing on grass. He already suffered so much just to play the French Open!
Rafa is a guru. 🌻
Long live Nadal... great tennis player, great human!
Yes he is the biggest inspiration in the history of tennis
Eres estupendo deportista y mejor persona. Haz lo que desees para seguir siendo feliz. 🇪🇦
Imagine this... he took injections to numb his foot nerves during these two to three weeks... just to play his favorite french open tournament...
Hats off to his level of dedication... absolutely astounding... a lesson for all... focus on your goal, huddles will keep on coming... they should not deter you...
"Legend has it that Rafa pinged Uncle Toni & enquired if a provision could be created in his living room for a 15th next year"

Methinks the most grounded person I've ever seen!
Excellence. Champion. Invincible. Glory.🌞✨👑✨2⃣2⃣🏆✨🗼☑️🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊
I LOVE him so much that I have no words!
GOAT OF THE GOATS !!!!!!!
Absolute tennis GOAT.. Salute super RAFA👍👍👍
Asombroso, gran torneo, LARGA VIDA AL CAMPEON RAFAEL NADAL 👏💪
Verlo competir con tus molestias físicas es doblemente ADMIRABLE
And the result will followed ...good goal my idol
Vamos Rafa!👍🇪🇦💪 14RG 👏 👏 👏.
The legend of Rafael Nadal grows even larger.............
RESPETO por este monstruo sagrado e impecable persona.
Seeing Nadal sitting next to the coupe des mousquetaires is like seeing the sun rise in the east
Rafa!
