    Why can't the people from Asana let us see the hours of the day in the weekly calendar? I mean, see the hours from 6 am to 10 pm and allocating tasks withing each hour each day. This is something so useful and I have seen people asking for it since 2017 in many forums. Any simple calendar (Google, Outlook, etc.) shows the hours of the day. This simple detail limits Asana so badly and makes it look incomplete.

    Great job! Your walkthrough really helped me. Your comparisons, tips, and excess advice was also an awesome bonus. Thanks 🙃

    Thank you for the video. I've noticed that for 1-day or milestone tasks, the date is listed as the day of the week instead of the date. Additinally, instead of having nice clean lines as you do to show dependencies, my view has a back and forth loop that appears. Could it be the version of Asana my comipany has? I can't figure out how to change the date format or the dependency line. Thanks!

    My struggle with this versus something like MS project in updating durations is I truly want auto scheduling to occur. In your demo you chose dates and the durations automatically updated. But most projects you don't know the dates. When I attempted to update just durations it alters predecessors and not successors as I did a simple test with 4 tasks in a waterfall format. Any suggestions if you want to build your schedule based on durations only and have Asana figure out the dates?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  Рік тому +1

      I'm afraid this isn't possible with Asana. Most people set the dates based on their best estimate (even if this is just an estimate which you change later).

      Thanks for the reply! They shouldn't allow duration changes as it causes confusion until they enable the capability to design a schedule based on estimation durations.

    Is it possible to sort working days etc? For example id like to toggle off sat and sunday so when i drag tasks around and they end up across the weekend the duration extends the next week to account for the days not worked?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  6 місяців тому

      In the top right of the timeline, there is an option to change dependency settings and you can choose to ignore weekends.

    Hello. What is the work around for start to start, end to end dependencies?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  Рік тому

      There isn't one I'm afraid. Asana is quite rigid in that you can only create end to start dependencies.

    Love your videos. In Gantt view How can I add text within the gantt bar, like in timeline

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  5 місяців тому

      In the gantt view, the task name can only show on the left hand side. Whereas the timeline shows the task in the actual timeline (this is one of the main differences between the two views).

    Hi Paul, how do you scroll the Gantt view to the left and right? I seem to be lacking a scroll bar or similar to enable this.

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  10 місяців тому

      I'm on a Mac and I the mouse has a horizontal scroll option. If you have a trackpad, you could also try this.

    Hello, how can I ensure that all the task due dates are recalculated in relation to the project end date?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  10 місяців тому

      When you use a template you can set the task due dates to align with the end date of the project. That way, when you create a new project, all tasks will correspond to that end date.

    Hello Paul.
    Another great and concise video. Thanks.
    I have a question (hopefully you see it), can one create a Gantt chart that encompasses entire portfolios and/or the entire workspace? That would be really helpful for planning out workload across all active projects. I don't just concentrate on one project. I have multiple projects on the go at any one time so seeing all of them would be really helpful for planning out activities. Unless I am missing it, I can't see how it's done.
    Thanks again.

    • @minor-co

      One option is to multi-home all tasks from all your various projects into one master project and then use the Gantt view to see when all tasks are coming up.

    Am I able to see all projects in a timeline or gantt view?

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  9 місяців тому

      You can use a portfolio to see a timeline of all projects and milestones but this wouldn't show tasks.
