Cool video bro! I just purchased a white 22 Kia Forte Gt and it’s a great car for the money! The Forte is sweeet in White. Thinking about putting in a race chip down the road for fun!
I got a 21 GT Manual in Aurora Black Pearl in November. I LOVE it. I don't have any complaints AT ALL. I just hit 10,000 miles last week and every time I drive the car it feels like the first time.
I had a 2020 GT that I got in October 2019 & this past Saturday, I just got the new & refreshed, 2022 GT with GT2 package, a lifetime powertrain warranty & I absolutely love it! I actually only had my 2020 for a year before it was totaled & I had other cars in-between since then, but it had 164 miles new & I put 18,000 miles on it before the accident.
That refresh does look sick! Kinda wish I waited, congratulations on the new whip. Have you noticed any major changes besides the new look, or just mostly a carryover?
@@SiGuy_YT thank you & congrats on yours as well! 6 months wasn't that long ago. There are several new things inside, bigger cluster screen, larger infotainment screen, electronic parking brake, which frees up the center area considerably, lane follow assist, not just lane keeping assist, there's a difference & also, smart cruise control with highway driving assist.
Oh damn, I didn’t even see the accident part in the first comment. Getting your car totaled sucks, same thing happened to me too. My old Nissan got totaled last year early 2020. I been through a couple of cars since then like the 2019 Forte LXS, but after having that car for 8 months, I wasn’t feeling it. Tried out the GT & I definitely liked it better.
@@SiGuy_YT I know exactly what you mean, I test drove a 2019 S & then when I realized there was a GT for the 2020 model year, it was over. As for accidents, I've had 7 totals, all but one weren't my fault & the one that was, was actually deemed both our faults & that was in a Nissan believe it or not. I'm 37 & I've had over 40 cars lol, but my two favorite brands are Hyundai/Kia (I consider them one brand along with Genesis) & Mopar, literally 2 months ago, I managed to get a '09 300C SRT, at auction. If you consider that the same as a Charger, as I do, I've had 4, as for Hyundai/Kia's, the 2022 GT2 is my 7th. I've had 5 Toyotas, one of which was a Lexus, 4 Hondas, 3 of which were Acuras, countless other, consumer brands, if you will, nothing exotic or anything lol. Only brands I've never owned are Subaru, Mazda, Volvo & Mercedes-Benz. The other added feature btw, has to do with the smart cruise control I mentioned already, it not only features highway drive assist, but also features stop & go, and is navigation-based. I'm not sure if the 2021's & below, had built-in navigation with the GT2 package, like the Stingers, but the refreshed 2022 does.
I’ve had the “Automatic Braking” happen to me twice. The first time scared the ever loving shit out of me. I thought I had somehow messed up the transmission even though I wasn’t even messing with the gears when it happened. I traded in my 2012 Ford Focus SE IN for my 2021 Kia Forte GT in Deep Sea Blue w/ GT2 package. I can’t knock on the old Focus too much, but I was on my 3rd clutch when I traded it in,so I thought I blew the transmission or shot the clutch when it braked and I went flying forward. Seat belts are the best thing since sliced bread!
@@1fast10r I try to make sure I turn it off every time I drive… I know it’s a good safety feature to have, and it’s helped me a couple times with people slamming on the brakes; but the random times it likes to do it when it “thinks” there is something there that isn’t is really an inconvenience and a safety hazard especially when people are behind you and you go from 50 down to like 20-30 outta now where..
@@1fast10r On the 21’s you can turn it off by pressing and holding the button you use to turn off Traction Control to the right of the Lane Keep Assist button. Just press and hold it till it beeps twice; it’ll beep once and say traction control is off, then beep again and say stability control is off as well which will turn it off. Another way to turn it off and keep traction control on is to go to your settings page on the speedometer screen, driver assistance page, and scroll down to it and uncheck the “Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist”. You’ll have to do it every time you get in the car if you wanna keep it off though, I haven’t found a way to keep it off permanently yet lol. But, it does come in handy when people don’t pay attention and have to slam on their brakes, I just don’t like the safety hazard it causes when it “thinks” someone is there cause they’re turning left in another lane; but it’s only open air lol.
You should reconsider getting an oil catch can. They aren't difficult to install yourself so long as you have a couple basic tools and it will help prolong your engine life and it won't void your warranty. I haven't gotten mine yet but it's top of my list after I finish buying Christmas presents for the kiddos. I have a '21 GT Manual in Red and I love my car too, I put 20k miles a year on my cars(commute + picking up/dropping off kids) so I feel you on the mileage. So nice to drive and is quick enough to be fun.
Yeah, I’ll think about getting a Catch Can. It seems simple enough. I’m was planning on getting my car Carbon Clean every once in a while to prevent build up.
Yep. But I didn’t see a roof, so I assume you didn’t get the GT2 package. But it’s still a great car…. Holds its value well - trade in value is worth more than I paid for the car.
I work as an itinerant teacher. I put about 20-70 miles daily on it, while traveling from school to school. Pensacola, FL is a pretty small town (minus the summer), so traffic is not usually horrible. I agree that creeping in traffic sucks. Modded it as far as I can while still keeping the factory warranty. Racechip GTS, a nice intake and exhaust, and an Evilla Motorsports chassis kit (sway bar, strut bar, tie bar) makes for a super fun daily driver. I have owned it for 11 months, put 12,500 miles on it, and still love it. Can't wait to put the Eibachs on it and get the Sxth downpipe and intercooler kit.
Update. Almost 1.5 years in and I added the Eibachs and went with the Tork Motorsports Downpipe and intercooler delete pipe.... the car still runs great and is a little quicker than a Charger RT.
I used to switch my auto brake system on and off but now I just leave it on early so it just lets me know in advance - that way i can intervene on the brakes before the system does and that actually helps. It starts to take over when it thinks there's no driver input when it senses to get closer the approaching car. I try not to creep but I have accidentally creeped at the lights when i thought the light was going to turn green but then it doesn't
I kept mines on Late. The car only beeped at me once since then, but never applied the brakes for me. Honestly, I kinda would prefer if the car just beep at you instead of applying the brakes as well. I understand it’s a safety feature, but it also has its flaws.
@@SiGuy_YT i wish they offered the option of still keeping the beeping and switching off the brake intervention but if I switch the system off i lose the beep lol
I drive about 100 miles a day throughout the week using mostly the highway going from MD to DE. As far the the mods go, most bolt on mods won't void the warranty. Plus you could always keep the stock parts and put them back on if there is ever an issue.
Oh damn, I do about 100 miles too sometimes. If I actually do mods, I might just do something to the exhaust, or if I purchase a second vehicle, I might mod it out.
@@SiGuy_YT Yup, the miles be racking up, but similar to you its better that its racking up on the highway than a bunch of city driving. Okay, so then if you do end up doing a mod to the exhaust I stuck with the cheapest bolt on option of getting a sports mid pipe from Evilla Motorsports. Some people go with cutting off the resonator, but I don't think that can be reversed.

Nice car, my man. I’ve got a 2021 WRX, but I must say that there are a lot of features on your GT I like better. I’m just wondering how your tires will do in these Philly winters. I had to put a set of Continental DWS06 all-seasons on the WRX since it came with ultra high performance summer tires.
I might be slipping & sliding if it snows 😂 I should be okay through, 9/10 I won’t drive in terrible weather conditions. I’m kinda wondering what you like about the Forte over the WRX, just curious. I think the WRXs are nice, haven’t driven one yet tho

@@SiGuy_YT, your headlights, fogs, and rear lights are better, as mine are only the halogens. You have to get the WRX Limited trim to get LEDs. I have the Premium trim, which is between the base trim and the Limited. I think your seats are better, too.
Love that Gravity Gray color. I just ordered a GT Line yesterday in "Sporty Blue" (new color for this year), but now I'm wondering if I should call them and have them change it to Gravity Gray! lol

@@SiGuy_YT Yes I also like the red accents in the grill and rear bumper. The pin strip works on the forte because of that body line that runs from the front fender to the rear quarter panel. My Mazda 3 it would look out of place. I would of got the Forte GT but I don't like dct's.
My Forte is 9 month’s old now & my review video will be available February 10th, at 5pm.
