    Thanks for another good Pest Species Control video. Please keep up the Good Work. Squirrel No.2 seemed to be looking straight at you, in the Hide.
    It was interesting seeing the Buzzard hunting the Rabbit and I was suprised it didn't help itself to a dead Squirrel instead. The two Woodpeckers were really nice to see, thank you.

      I don't sell them but there are a couple of people who make full metal feeders on a couple of Facebook grey squirrel groups. I can't remember their names though so you may need to have a little search.

    Hello My friend,
    Thank you for another great video. May ask, please? You seem to be using your Zulu scope all the time, now.
    I've only been airgunning a few years now, so my kit is still quite new, very new to me. I have conventional scopes and a clip on 007 Pard for night vision.
    Is my kit seen as old hat now?
    I've never been at the forefront of technology and quite like what I have and love using it. I know you are more involved in pest control than I am, but am I being left behind?
    Thank you, Ian.

    • @lancsvermincontrol
      @lancsvermincontrol  3 місяці тому +1

      The PARD 007 is certainly a more dated item nowadays, however it is still a good little tool to have. If you hunt a lot then a dedicated digital scope would probably be the way to go, but a traditional scope is better for plinking or if you're not interested in recording. If you're happy with your 007 then stay with it. If you want tomtey something more up to date then definitely consider the Zulus.

    As a fairly new shooter with the end goal of doing pretty much what you do, what is the benefit at this range of using rim fire over fac air? Or even sub 12? I have lots of questions about calibre/power choice, but the main one is how to decide what's best in what situation. Thanks, Tony (Leeds)

    • @lancsvermincontrol
      @lancsvermincontrol  3 місяці тому +1

      Not much benefit between rimfire and FAC air at those distances. In sub 12 you just need to be more patient and make sure your shot placement is more precise. Rimfire and FAC air is more forgiving.

    Pest from hell? Understatement. Just bought an nice Ford F150 pickup truck. Squirrel had built a nest under the hood over night a few week ago. Put peppermint oil to deter that, but yesterday had found my wiring chewed up under the hood when I went to see why I had no radio or heater and all check brakes and such lights on the dash all lit up. Living in the city, it's illegal to fire ANY gun in the city limits. Truck gets fixed next week. Now I need to figure out how to kill squirrels without shooting them. Animal control won't let me trap due to other wildlife, so any ideas?

    Not a loaded question and not an activist but why are they the pest from hell?

    • @lancsvermincontrol
      @lancsvermincontrol  3 місяці тому +8

      They're an ecological disaster for the trees which they damage. A threat to the native red squirrel and also local songbird populations. They can also damage wiring in properties.

      @@Twigster1 They truly are the pest from hell. I live in Illinois in the US and earlier this year the grey squirrels bent the vent vanes to get in my metal garden shed and tried to make it their home. When I put wire cloth over the vents they tore up and bent the lower end of the roof trying to get inside. They have completely replaced the red squirrels native to Illinois. They steal food out of feeders set up for the song birds. Plus they strip my fruit trees of fruit and steal stuff out of my garden. Since they can climb pretty much anywhere, a simple fence is not going to keep them out. Whoever brought these pests to the UK was absolutely out of their mind!
