You KNOW you WANT TO!😂😂
WoW 9.2 is the right way for you if you wana do raids and that stuff you shold be in wow not in FFX14 i say that becose all what you want you have it in wow well prob you played wow KEKW
Damn Lynx is quitting tanking to play Raid: Shadow Legends
LMAO
Why play dps when you can just play gunbreaker.
It's the same thing.
Monk: "Nothing is faster than my rotation. I am speed."
Lynx outro: "Hit the notification bell tostayuptodate with my uploads."
Monk: "I concede."
See, this is why you should play BLM, you have huge utility in the form of addle, you can reduce incoming damage to your party with addle and if someone dies you can make things easier for healers with addle.
What I'm trying to say is that BLM is the best class.
Understanding the correct timing of addle, which is always, is the true ultimate.
You can do it with Smn and rdm too. And instead of becoming a turret blm that might have to leave your leylines, Smn and rdm can free cast almost half their spells. So if u are not hardcore raider blm is not top choice
And you also get to redo your hotbar every 10 levels, so much fun when you do roulettes!
@@Hi_howrudoin But you're missing the fact that BLM addle is the one true addle. BLM is pure DPS, therefore our addle is pure.
@@Hi_howrudoin BLM is top tier and easy to play in casual content due to crazy aoe dps and less mechanics. Its harder to prog with for savage but that's mostly due to lack of familiarity with ground targeter types and gets easier with practice.
BLM also has the most mobility out of the casters if you play it right, so it's not really a turret in current content.
Basically, play the job you enjoy. Try out other stuff if you doubt what you are doing is the best.
Each role (tank, dps, heals) has all the fine details to maximize the role and how the role can optimize the group.
In the end we're all DPS anyways. We can be DPS that gets DPS'ed on by enemies, DPS that keeps the party up and alive to DPS, or DPS that double downs on DPS
Nope, theres only us tanks that run shit, and then the rest of yall 🙃
@@flipnskater I’m a tank and that’s rude. Everyone’s job is important
As a tank main, I love you're still with us. ♥
I always encourage people to play what they want. A player at your caliber will always be fine. Hopefully you will still do tanking and dps and give us content from both perspectives.
I think your community would enjoy seeing as many perspectives as you can produce given your quality of information is so high.
Lynx totally forgetting about Dragoon's dual role. Yes, melee, but also floor TANK. Really seems to be the most natural choice for Lynx.
"I dont want to press Glare for the next 2 years"
Then come join us book slapping bros and our endless misery!
SLAP. THAT. GROUND
Unfortunately, none of the melee DPS can do any of the things you were looking for. RDM, SMN and DNC can, but I think you already explained why ranged DPS just aren't your thing.
Having the most fun you can have is ultimately the most important part of the game. If dps doesn't do that for you as well as tanking does, then be a tank. Who know, maybe you'll be reinvigorated to play WAR at 90 when we get the Savage raids in EW.
Holy shit congrats on the sponsorship breh!
If you want a DPS that can drag groups kicking and screaming to victory then the only choice is RDM.
Not going to lie, I'm a little surprised this is going live on the same day we're getting the live letter going over the job changes for EW. Glad to still have you with us though, the game needs all the great tanks it can get.
i like how that dark knight at 6:55 cast TBN on himself instead of you
that's third eye, the SAM skill, the animation just looks similar
@@SkyraM she is probably a mentor lol
@@SkyraM TBN was active on the DRK's buff bar
Too bad you didn't get the frustration of playing MNK.
Uptime on MNK is the challenging aspect of the job. Keeping track of their buff and dot and positionals while dodging mechanics and keeping uptime.... Fun!
Plus they do provide a bit of utility.
Glad you are sticking to WAR. My favourite next to BNB and PLD.
Yeah, the need for utility is especially big with me, which is why I main warrior and monk, monk isn't too much better, but the RoE and mantra are godsends, and occasionally saving a run with fists of earth is one of the few big dopamine builders.
I might just be stupid because one of the attractive things about monk to me is the positionals lmao, it actively gives me a sense of mastery as I prog a fight, making more and more positionals, and engages me in the same way prepping for mechs gives as tank.
MNK is fun. We have to maintain uptime, watch our buff and dot, dodge mechanics and hit positionals.
It's busy! And fast!!!
But, WAR is still WAR. It's a beast of a tank.
I feel the same exact way and am also maining warrior and monk lol
Sticking with BRD all the way, I love it because while you have your skill priority and your standard rotation of going from "This song, to this song, to that song". You have your procs to make each pull different, tracking a 3 second dot timer in your head, keeping oGCD windows open for anticipated procs, and playing this way makes you more creative every pull against every fight. I wish the song buffs were able to be balanced to be useful but not overwhelming which I think is impossible.
i miss you lynx
i miss you dude
I don't really like tanking that much, but that's the part of a fantasy MMO. Everyone has things they do or don't enjoy. Optimizing DPS in an encounter is good dopamine. Even with healing it feels good
Commenting to boost that algorithm and to stay up to date with any uploads :D
Clutched out a leveling roulette when a pillar fell on a healer as PLD. The feels you speak of. I know them.
come back please :(
I'm very glad you have decided on what you want to do! that's great news! it always sucks being unsure and feeling like being stuck in some sort of limbo
Selfish note however: thank fucking god now I have more tanking content pogchamp let's fucking goooo
Endwalker Savage Tier just ended, you're still not here
As a WAR main myself I totally fell u bro (pun intended), i like to play on monk sometimes but feels like I'm doing nothing to help the team clear faster
Glad you choose to stay with us the masochists
2:33 I could hear "Angry Bald Man" clapping and screaming WOOOOO in the back.
My bro lynx out here with the young Raid sponsor, let's goooo
Honestly, everyone is different. There's a guy I raid with that mains SAM cuz he has enough stuff to survive in some fights keeping aggro if the tanks die. It's also a class he really enjoys (and the big numbers aren't bad either).
I'm relatively easy to please so I've found unless I enjoy in all roles (and even though originally wanted to heal I've found myself main tanking and really enjoy it).
It's all about finding what you love and finding people who don't care about what's "best" if your favorite isn't what's "best".
I'm glad you had the opportunity to explore what you want to do most. If you feel like you can contribute to the party most as a tank, that's really what you should do as your main job. Every other job is available to you regardless and you can hop on whichever class you prefer at the moment whenever you're feeling it. I don't agree however that the only way you can contribute to your party is as tank or healer, especially SMN or RDM have good utility save difficult situations.
Of course you don't agree, because it's absolute biased insanity.. Even at higher level of play tanks are literally the most selfish role in the game..
Yeah, as a recent wow convert I am also considering what class I should play. Generally I am pretty competitive so in wow dps was great. Doing top dps over 14-15 other dps feels good, dps have great utility like vortex, interrupts, and stuns, and there is a massive need for them being 75% of the raid group. In ff they are only 50% of the raid group and over half of them only really bring feint or addle as real utility. In wow as a dps I was really able to contribute to the team with utility, soloing hard mechanics for the raid, and blasting dps to skip hard phases and overall contribute to the clear. Playing melee in FF it seems like there is not nearly as much I can contribute to help the group clear, besides doing good dmg and doing mechanics like everyone else. Tanking is pretty chill in wow and most guilds arent really recruiting them much, and so I think I need to give tanking at 80 a real shot in savage content. Its fun to be top of the meter but I have even more fun clearing hard content, so Im gonna give it a real thinkover.
The only thing that I love about DPS though is the satisfaction from focusing hard and playing a fight perfectly and doing your rotation without any mistakes. Since the tank rotation is easier I dont get that same satisfaction, so I need to weigh that feeling with the feeling of helping the group clear. Perhaps tank is a midway point between healer and DPS in that way like you said.
Bye Lynx!!! Thanks for all the great content!
This sorta reminded me of why I enjoy dancer and red mage so much. Even if they mostly focus on the role of dealing damage, the way you do that is very adaptable and requires thinking on your feet to maximise procs. They also have some utility if you need a burst of healing to help the group or keep someone alive, or res mage.
very glad to see you back Lynx! I remember how sad I was when i watched the video about you taking a break and the raid group splitting up! Keep it up!
That raid shadow legends ad hit different.
I totally feel it with the lack of utility daily. I harp on about it over and over but not having dismantle/the vuln up with old MCH, or even things like Palisade or stuff on RDM like Erase...it's just a shame to not have options that can really come in clutch but only if you know how to use them(considering not a lot of people used Diversion though, that's just how bad the general pug experience is).
Your identity as Warrior though is like me with Machinist...it's fun to try other things but safe to say we probably found our main mains for awhile. I just appreciate that if there's ever a time where we wanna experiment, FF14 lets you do so freely with the job change system.
This is why I main Ninja. It's not about the DPS. Sure, I sure hit checks etc but to be directly responsible to slamming Trick and my party getting to go ham as oppose to having the utility to avoid damage, I make sure my party DOES damage. I feel like just labeling all DPS is as number chasing isn't the full picture for everyone.
"I don't want to press Glare for the next two years so healing is out the window." Oof. I felt that.
I love that everyone is going WAR now that they announced more buffs in the live letter lol. UNGA BOONGA
Where is our favourite Tank main.
ua-cam.com/video/Q9Xtn9kyrWE/v-deo.html
As a casual meh tank/player in general, sometimes i watch your tank videos and wonder to myself..."what game is he playing? what job is that? oh..wait..i play the same job! why does it look and sound like we're playing different games? what the hell are all these talents/abilities he's using? do i have those, too? ".... anyone else feel the same?
amazing videos, thank you so much and best of luck in EndWalker!
This. Literally the reason I love healing in mmos. The skill ceiling with healing to me is the balance between maximizing dps and keeping your group up. Lucky for me ff14 has that play style supported to the fullest.
Whatever happened to Lynx? Is he alright?
Check his secondary channel 'Lynx Karamel', there's a video titled "I'm quitting FFXIV for good."
I'm fairly new to the channel, so I'll have to go back and watch the rest of the mini series, but the way you feel about Warrior is ironically the way I feel about playing Dragoon
I find a lot of utility when playing as my Goon, passing off a buff to another player I feel is contributing well or even perhaps another tank should a melee not be available (sorry, my main experience is with ranged, and not very often they're close enough to utilise my buff)
Having feint is one option, as is Second Wind, but there's also Blood Bath and Life Strike which when well timed or just use in proper practise can really reduce the need for heals
Evasive Jump can be amazing when used well or even holding a Spineshatter Dive off on the rotation just because you know a Knockback is coming can really make a good comeback into a rotation too, there's also Double Life combo among other factors
So honestly I completely understand your feelings towards playing warrior, I share the same love as mentioned for gooning
Sorry for the essay and random spurts, but yeah man, good luck with Warrior and glad you got it all figured out
As for now - time to watch the rest of the mini series!
Have a beautiful day!
right on there's always that one job that steals our hearts! I get so much pleasure with the black mage, as every fight is like a rotational puzzle, even more so than most classes, and being rewarded with just barely beating an enrage and knowing that wouldn't be possible without me excelling at the job and having found ways to maximize uptime.
I love debating with my healers, dps buddies and tanks strategies to create that uptime and find the minute things. My dps depends on my skill but its also a group effort, as i'm responsible to put to the best use the efforts of everyone else. Selfish dps is a bad name, in reality you have a heavy responsibility. It's an embarassement of riches in this game with satisfying gameplay loops. There's something for everyone
Are u not making any Videos anymore ? :/
eyyy I also agree with everything you said here. Though I keep a blm leveled for when I want to see big numbers and mch for when I want to play a tank rotation without having to think like a tank.
and i can understand that. im a heal main, and playing dps feels lackluster.
Same
I've played WAR since 2.2 and ShB made me quit it. None of the tanks clicked with me anymore, I did a year-long break and I'm suddenly loving GNB now and WAR feels decent tho... but ultimately i'll be playing Reaper and trying out DPS for a change. Although i'll tank and heal couse every role is fun in its way.
I can agree that playing a dps for a prog can be rather dull over a tank as mentioned. You really can't do much as a drg when there is a potential wipe scenario over a tank or a healer, more to do overall and as a good player it could be fun to check the possibilities or just save a run even though you already had 20 deaths.
This is super surprising to see but im happy to see you are willing to try new things.
It doesn't change the fact that your ff14 tanking videos both helped me greatly and gave me confidence to try about of high.end content as a tank.
Far from being high skill level player, I think closer to bottom; but from your reasons, I feel Ninja would've been the more likely to be satisfying for you. Though it still has its rigidity with some stuff, it is the dps that gives me more of a feel of having some flexibility. Whether or not that's true, however, is another matter, as my level of skill/knowledge hasn't led me yet to take advantage of it, so it may be an illusion. Also, I play DPS much more than tanks, so it's not like I have a real grasp of how far the tank's versatility gets.
Hi! Desperius brought me here! Have fun playing FFXIV Endwalker with your chosen job. 👍
When your video is 25% advert, OOF.
i think the big satisfaction for me is just knowing im doing my job right, which is pretty broad tbf so i like playing most jobs but the main for now is nin
even though pretty much all my utility is trick attack it feels nice adapting to the bosses pattern so that my team gets the most out of the trick attack, also being able to do some good damage at a range makes the class flow really well
though tanking seems super fun as well so im glad ill continue to have a resource on that :)
As someone who just picked up Monk and fell in love with the class (yes, I know there's a good bit of jank), I'd love to see a video going over melee dps uptime or just general advice. I've played Healer pretty much my whole MMO life, so I've got a bit to catch up on.
I spend all day managing middle schoolers... as much as I am tempted to tank, I prefer the DRG's simplicity and lack of responsibility
Dancer or Astrologian are the only ones I see potentially providing what you need. Dancer is usually nice to have in a group overall, but there are times where a well times curling waltz can stop a wipe. I have chosen it as my main for that reason, but I have to say you won't see the full potential unless you do level 80 content with it and RNG is on your side with feathers. Astrologian is definitely a must, I can't see that not working out well.
I’m excited to make the main job decision tonight after the LL
Loving machinist right now but I really wanna melee or tank next expansion tbh
2:31 is where the video starts. Raid shadow legends ad takes away 2 min
Dont worry: when I was little I always forgot to pronounce Rs XD
Good to see your happy with your choice - and since I want to focus on Warrior as tanking role in EW, this choice makes me very happy - I'll keep my notepad ready :D As for dos content, all the better :)
The best part is that melee uptime applies to tanks too \o/
every time i try to leave tanking i always come back. its like an addiction
lol as if a Warrior ever will change. Regardless of game, regardless of patch, we trucking on.
How hard is it to find a spot in a static as a new tank?
Started playing FFXIV 3 months ago and soon fell in love with Gunbreaker. As someone with plenty of tanking experience from WoW I found tanking in FFXIv to be fairly simple and I and absolutely love the dps rotation of the job. It’s also my favorite job thematically because it’s basically just a swordsman with a Magic sword, which is dope.
Unfortunately, there’s only 2 tank spots so I don’t like my chances of finding a spot to play my favorite job once I start moving into harder content. (Recently finished all the non-savage/extreme content)
What do you think? Should I give up and go DPS?
I love warrior. I just hope it'll get a bit busier in EW. Because imo, its damage gameplay basically stayed in stormblood, while some tanking aspect (like CDs, stance dance and aggro for example) have just been removed.
Honestly, I think WAR just needs a dot and have their gap closer off the beast guage.
Maybe alter their stat priority to get in line with the other tanks.
Edit: change Overpower also
I started as a Marauder/Warrior tank main ever since I started. Ive found that i have much more fun when I play a tank than I do when I play my Dragoon. And I’ve put HOURS into my Dragoon but for the life of me I just dont enjoy it like i do my Warrior or Gunbreaker
Ok captain Lynx when you dropping that yummy “Endwalker Tank thoughts” vid?? I’m so hyped for it

He quit the game
@@reallifeanimegirl Wait legit? I can't find anything where he mentions quitting.
@@junebug9966 he uploaded it on his 2nd channel Lynx Karamel
i really thought i was gonna do paladin this tier, but nope xD once you fell cleave, you cannot leave. this is my second tier playing warrior and gonna be my 3rd ultimate with it, loving it forever^^
Yea I can fully understand I’ve been playing a lot of classes I don’t normally play like war and I gotta say I didn’t think I’d like it but the self heal and fell cleves are fkn fun tho for ew I’m thinking about switching it up to healing for more “responsibilities” I guess you could say
The ultimate tank swap
Swapping to a new main
Dragoon has utility, albeit for dealing damage and not healing the party. Ironically, despite being the floor tank class, with bloodbath and life surge, you can stay surprisingly healthy fighting tons of mobs.
What I find fun in with FFXIV is how well a job flows in combat. I enjoy jobs that have nice and concise rotations that are easy to remember.
SIKE! I KNEW IT! You can never leave being a tank if you tank main >:)
It’s pikachu, as seen from above
I really expected SE to shit on warrior for the 100th time with EW, but I think so far with the adjustments I'm very pleasantly surprised
War and RDM are my favourites, for some reason I don't overly enjoy tanking in alliance raids or trials (despite really enjoying it in Bozjan critical engagements/raids)
I love warrior for the same reasons, and same goes for RDM - it just has a tonne of utility. While it might not have the most variety in rotation it's just overall a well-made job that feels smooth.
chicken mack nugget
Honestly DPS gets a free ride through almost all content in this game until savage anyway because tanks and heals carry dungeons and trials anyway. But if you wanna try out a main dps, Red Mage is pretty fun for prog.
it sounds like you want a ton of utility but also be interesting in gameplay. Realistically there's only one melee dps (unsure about reaper yet) that fits your bill. Ninja is almost everything you're talking about but won't have its name at the top of the leaderboard.
Im happy about ur decision
YOU TAP "C" TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE CHARACTER TAB DURING COMBAT TOO. Omg... this is a habit i've had for years that developed in WoW and I do it in FFXIV too... I thought i was the only one
May the Soviet Hammer watch over all of us
All praise the God that is Soviet Hammer
yo its been one year since this video n he hasnt uploaded anything since =0 not a good sign.
yeah..what games he playin now
He used to play lost ark on a different account cuz i recognized his voice but iirc last i checked he stopped posting there too@@piotr477
Be PLD, the final chosen one
Ultimately gonna play every role in case we get a gud reward for lv90 but i kibda doubt we'll get another cool mount
Feint, Bloodbath, Second wind, Battle Lithany. its still something imO.
4:37 lol what meter?
Warrior is BAEST in GAEM
But really it is one of the most enjoyable classes to play
You didn't like dark knight more than warrior?
You been playing endwalker? Id love to see more tank content from you esp considering the changes.
me: i haven't had very many bad tanks
also me: *has only leveled other tank roles at this time*
Relatable. These PUG tanks can't be trusted. Thats why I have 3 tanks at 70, one at 65. Healers and dps? 2 classes at 70.
video starts at 02:29
Don't matter if you're not playing
WAR is love
i like tanking too
I actually play healer main so I feel ya here. but sage is looking good as I mained scholar but lost touch with it once I tried astro. but I feel I will main sage come ew
I can never decide what to play :/
So, how did that work out?
