    Hi, the result is great, really nice.
    It's a pitty that the most important sofa support is relying on pocket holes though, the long pieces should be resting on the sides and then fixed or jointed by a mortise and tenon joint if you want it to really last. It will make a sturdier structure... Best regards

    Where did you get the cushions from? That’s one of the most expensive things.

    I'm building these and use your video as reference, however, I've got to criticize (and this is no fault to you, you were following their plans!), but why is is that the main supports are held by only two pocket screws on each side while the non-weight-baring backer pieces get 3? I seriously think this should be the other way around. By the way, how have your sofas held up? I'm doing two, their chair, and their coffee table.

      Hey there, ya I didn't give it too much thought I kinda just went with the flow. They turned out great and I still use them all the time, no issues!

    What did you use to finish it ? I am making an outdoor chair with a similar plan (but using Redwood 2 by 4s instead of the 4 by 4s here). Too many options on finishing and I can't figure out how to proceed

    • @akornusc21
      @akornusc21  3 роки тому

      We used Penofin Penetrating Oil, I can't remember the exact shade but some kind of "brown" in the name.

    Does screwing into the end grain not cause the wood to split?

    Do the cushions shift? Is there a way to keep them in place?

    • @akornusc21
      @akornusc21  11 місяців тому

      They don't shift at all, they are nice and snug against the side pieces and each other - as long as you buy the right sized cushions it is very snug

      Sorry about that, I was trying to make it clear that it was just a timelapse of me building it. A time-lapse would be a bit fast to really show how to build it, but I listed the instructions for anyone to follow. I didn't make the instructions. Hopefully though my video helps show some of the processes for people if they have any questions.
