Love watching your videos Charlie.you make it look so easy and I know it certainly isn’t but all worthwhile when you reach the top. You give us all itchy feet to get out among the lovely hills. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.👏🤗
Hi Janice, The tops north of the great glen are terrific and it's now the time of year they become more accessible with the long days. We've a walking week planned through this month so will be targeting the far north just for a change. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Wolfgang, These are an excellent pair of Munros as they have a bit of contrast in shape and form. The views are normally spectacular, particularly looking north to Glen Africa and beyond. Cheers, Charlie.
Once again another great video and great to see that walking isn’t just done in good weather. Wet days can be just as magical ….. one thing I notice though Charlie , your never out of breath 😂😂, I’m breathing out my arse most of the time when hiking lol …. 👍
Hi Gavin, I agree you can have some enjoyable days in the wet probably less so in gale force winds. I can assure you looks are deceiving when recovering from a climb 😂 and thank goodness the camera has image stabilisation until the heart gets back under control. ATB Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Mark, We had actually expected things to be worst but the south wind help keeping the rain at our backs during the ascent. Always a joy walking in Glen Shiel and never to far to walk to get started. 👍 Cheers, Charlie.
Hello, The peaks in Glen Shiel are stunning as the tops go straight to height from the car. Just a magic place for Munro bagging. Many thanks for viewing. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Allan, Glad you are enjoying getting through some of the previous outings. Hopefully, we’ll start getting clear tops again soon lol. Cheers, Charlie
Cracking vid again Charlie, still to do these two. Seem to be following you about at the moment, just did the brothers in Glen Shiel today, superb walk. What an outstanding area this is. Look forward to your next adventure. ATB Frank.
Hi Frank, We’ll bump into each other at some point I’m sure. Glen Shiel is a terrific Munro area but we were a bit unlucky on the weather front this time. Gives us a good excuse to get back up before the winter and short days take hold. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Charlie, I did this walk three days before you, and the conditions were perfect, I got great views, I didn't attempt the 2nd Munro, as I was having to catch the only bus back to Fort William, but it will still be there for me for another visit to a wonderful area. I have been enjoying your Hill Walking vlogs. Thanks very much. 😄
Hi David, Many thanks for watching... You'll enjoy your return visit as the second munro is probably the better of the two but they make a good pair. Cheers, Charlie.
Well done Charlie. I came up the way you went down after camping in the Glen having just done the south glen shiel 7. It was a tough pull up that morning but the view down glen Affric from mullach-f-c was worth it and even managed to capture some of the bird sounds on video. Atb gordon
Hi Gordon, I know what you mean as most of the tops in Glen Shiel all have leg testing starts. A great place with the dramatic shapes and carries making for terrific scenery. Take care, Charlie
Up at my back door this time, Charlie :-). Not a good day, should have come today as it has been great weather today, three days later on 22nd October. Snow yesterday is pretty much gone today. This was the last Munro I did two years ago before my hip finally gave up the ghost. That's a steep climb up to the ridge from the car park, particularly straight after breakfast. I always climbed this from further east where a stalkers' track leads up and into Coire a Chait after which a short tramp across mixed ground brings one to A'Chralaig's south ridge. The path isn't marked on the map but is visible from the footpath onto the South Glen Shiel Ridge which is where I first spotted it. A great pair of hills, but needs a good day. See you with the next one. Best wishes, Ian.
Hi Ian, These hills are a cracking pair. I much prefer the oot the car and straight up that Glen Shiel offers as the long walk to the hills aren’t great for my iffy knees. We’ve been fortunate with good weather previously and taken in Ciste Dhubh on a couple of occasions to complete an odd trio. Take care…. Cheers, Charlie
A bit of a wet one this time , your past visits looked stunning. I done these two a few years ago , some cracking ridge walks on the Glen Shiel hills eh. Good video again Charlie ..cheers Stevie
Hi Steve, I agree Glen Shiel is a terrific area and you never have to far to walk to get to the base of the tops, as you know after that it’s all up. Cheers, Charlie.
Magic Charlie. Love the old footage. Cant believe I have been up that hill 5 times. Great hill, straight out the car. Good on you mate for getting up there in poor weather. The last time I had a wee bum gravy moment when the dog fell back at the wee hands on bit on the Mullach ridge he tried to get up it(he usually waits). I was looking the other way when he fell into me. Great stuff again mate. Cheers
Hi Scott, Funny how there is always a few hills that ends up having multiple visits over the rest. The ridge would certainly be tricky in iffy conditions and you wouldn’t really want to be catching Jäger half way across 😩 Thanks for looking…. Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Paul, it was a pity about the weather but once it’s planned to just need to get on with it. Our second day was worst as you’ll see shortly. We’re due a blue sky day soon 🤞 Cheers, Charlie.
Hi Matthew, My mind always has the track longer than it actually is…. Wishful thinking. Certainly a terrific area for a walk with the shapely peaks rise sharply from the roadside. ATB, Charlie.
@@charliemccartney7055 I never get why they made such a good track short track and then all of a sudden the path just turns into a very boggy one, it's like they just gave up haha
