Aye! Was shittn me pants watching and desperately popping my eyes out trying to see where the next hospital bill is waiting for my forehead to stamp it...
Please look into the "cygolite metro plus 800", I got one and it's true how it pumps out 800 lumens with a horizontal diffuser like on cars, you'll never not see where you're going again!
Glad you're okay and no real damage done to your scooter. I live in NYC. After seeing and reading a lot of reviews, including yours, I'm looking at getting a Hiboy S2 for 6.3 mile commute. Enjoy your videos
I’m really glad you’re okay. This is actually the exact one I’m buying soon. I can’t wait. Like I said. I’m glad you and the scooter are okay. Great video! Aside from the crash, this is the best video I’ve seen of the mantis
@Motorcyclist yeah, older models got up to 42mph but now they are more focused on Torque and it tops out at 37mph...i think its a good thing since More torque = better effecienty
That's not that bad of a crash. Glad you're okay. You could have been going wwaaayy faster. I ride at night on my Mantis Pro and I memorize my route. I rarely go off course bc I know if I do I'll be hitting unknown bumps and cracks.
I only ride on the road at dark. Pedestrian and cycleways can be treacherous at night because you cannot see any obstacles ahead at a braking distance and they aren't built for high speeds in mind.
Waiting for my Kaabo Mantis Pro to come😎.You need better lighting if you’re going to ride at night bro. Stay safe and invest in the right equipment ,next time you might not be so lucky 🍀
Really like your videos. But please get a better light and some Moto X gloves. On eBay you can get a pretty good LED headlight with power pack and charger for $/£20. Gear up and ride safe brother👊
I'm glad I came across this video; I was so embarrassed for days when I fell off my Uberscoot 1600. I had accelerated onto the sidewalk which had a curb drop off. Off the side of the dropoff was fast traffic. I simply freaked out cause i had gone on the sidewalk too fast and the risk was very high if i went off that curb onto the street so I just panicked and flew off into the grass on the right side. Your video made me feel better to know falls do happen lol... Man was I shame lol. Luckily in spite of the speed it was the safest crash I've had off of a motor scooter (including my hoverboards those falls were nasty! Lol)... I had no scrapes no out of place joints or anything like that but my scooter basically busted like legos ( both my lights came off and the handlebar twisted out of place so i had to ride back real slow) I fixed it and after the shame wore off I'm back on fresh just a lot more careful lol.
I did almost the same thing - during the day - and coming off a sidewalk, down a curb, onto the street - on a Gotrax seated scooter that has no front suspension. So, I didn't wreck, just had a rough ride for a second. Hope you recovered nicely.
4:11 the car tires scrape the crub and put a black line on the crub makeing you miss judge the ramp and the little gripper bumps are way too far to the left. Lesson learned slow down at night because if you hand a brighter light you'd probably still be going just as fast, or faster.
Just watching your video makes me want to put my seatbelt on. I just started getting into E-scooting and bought me a Dualtron Raptor 2 and a ninebot max for my son. Your a good driver but be extra careful next time, glad your ok. Thanks for the video ride. 👍🏽
2x1000 lumens led headlights with high-end lens here. That's lighting gear used for mountain bike night rides. It is thumb remote controlled, and even by never going above 20 mph, I STILL find that's not quite enough for safely traveling unlit or dimly lit roads with an escooter. Might put two sets of front leds, one at handle bar height with long range narrow focus optics and one deck-height with extra-broad optics to highlight obstacles and nightly creatures. Can't imagine nightriding any sort of super escooter short of at least a 3000 lumen max brightiness front-light, I believe that's the staple brightness for bikes and mopeds.
I thought it was going to be the wet painted street lines that took you out. You crashed and the cop sitting at the light didn't even check on you. Geez. You need a much better light. You were riding way too fast for the current conditions, you might want to slow down those night rides on damp streets LOL. I'm glad you're ok, you could've been seriously hurt or worse if you hit something while airborne.
Nice video, wish there were more like this. It's so relaxing going out the night with an e-scooter or a bike if u don't have a car. I'm still waiting for my scooter to be delivered but this video made me want to go out.
Sorry about your crash, I'm glad you're ok. But you most definitely need better light for night riding. And you should invest in some gloves as well. I noticed you weren't wearing any. I just had a crash myself a few weeks ago, and I was only doing 15 MPH, but it was still enough to cause me a sprained wrist, and some serious road rash and the pain that goes along with it. I was lucky, I was wearing my motorcycle gloves. They save my hands from injury. I was also wearing my full-face helmet. But I neglected to put on my other safety gear. I won't make that same mistake again.
I bought a 2017 yz250 rear shock spring and added far harder wearing bushes. I cut the spring in half and it fitter perfectly my mantis now handle the roughest terrain and id of probably hopped up that kirb but the shocks would have save me if not.
Sorry to see that You fell , riding at night Seems like lots of fun , maybe just slow it down 6 to 8 miles per hour slower .....Also , is your headlight bright enough ? In the video it doesnt seem to bright , but maybe thats just what shows in the video ....Ive been told you need at least 600 to 700 Lumens as a minimum to see enough in front of you and to be safe , but Ive yet to ride at night but planning to soon ....I just need a good quality headlight ...
Nicer ride, I have a Mantis too and one light I added and works really well is the NiteRider Lumina 1100, it will give you way more night and you will be way more visible to other vehicles too, wearing some gloves would be a good idea :)
You need to add about 10,000 more lumens of light. I would just buy two 5,000 lumen lights. The problem is you could not see because the area was not well lit and you did not have enough light to see
Light i would recommend is the nitecore br35 man great little light got 2 for when my scooter arrives . Should be here in a couple weeks (Dualtron Storm Limited) Glad you are ok from that crash you flew man. Keep up the great content. Stay safe .
im thinking in buying one of these "powerful" escooters... and this video/channel about mantis gives a more realistic idea of what it really is... and from what i see... as bikes and motorcycles not everything are roses... however i do notice that as these scooters give some serious speed... they do lack light... even with a flashlight you can barelly see the floor... it needs even more, specially for night rides with no illumination... in fact thats the reason you crashed... with more light you would see it in time and avoid the crash easily...
You can invest on one of those powerful flashlights like the Sofirn SP36 (6000 watt neutral white). That's what I use on my scooter. It's thick and heavy but you can see everything on the road as it lits up the whole city block! LOL and sorry to hear about the crash and damage done to the scooter..
Try to find and install Arctic v3 headlights. At will not blind person/vehicle in front of you, and will see whole street ahead of you. It lights as good as cars headlights. Search on youtube reviews.

My instinct would have been to jump the curb ... here in Romania - Constanta you rarely have propper curb ramps and you often need to jump them, to avoid damage or crashing, after a while it gets in your blood, not owning any scooter at this moment and using the Bolt and the Uber lime scooters , but still.
He has a Bicycle light on the handlebar...wich had low battery so it was too dim...The Mantis only has tiny front lights (Bright enough so others can see you)
Dunno, I mean mistakes happen all the time, but when using the crosswalk area, you can clearly see the two lines go up to where the ramp is and you're way past those two lines....aside from that, I can see the curb clearly since it has rash on it from cars that have curbed it before. Kinda hard to miss....but like I said...everyone can make mistakes. That's all it was.

I hope your ok bro, best thing for late night rides is lights infront of your deck not only high up on the handle bar, but got a question for you bro your scooter is awesome, what amp fuse does your scooter take and what voltage is your scooter it seems beasty and very punchy
17.5 Ah battery with dual 1000W motors. I hope that answers your questions. If not, the scooter is called the Kaabo Mantis and you can probabaly find more info searching that.
Perfect I saw you was able to do more than 40 mph your scooter is advertising 40 so that’s pretty impressive you managed you reach higher speeds, keep doing vids like this please awesome!

Same thing happened to me on a bicycle. I could've sworn there was a ramp instead of a huge curb. Luckily all I got was a pinch flat.
