Please read: Those of you telling me that I am tightening the stem plate in the wrong place, thank you for informing me and I will use this information to fix the scooter. HOWEVER, just because the stem issue CAN be fixed does not make the Mantis a quality product. 500 miles is almost nothing for a high end scooter and for it to be loosening in such a significant way is a major issue for me. I DO NOT feel safe on this scooter. I shouldn't have to be popping the thing open to work on it after such a short amount of time. This is besides all the other issues that I listed in the video. Also, YOU not having the same issues with this scooter does not change my personal experience with the scooter. You can tell me a million times that you like the scooter and you won't change my opinion because I have my own personal experience with it. That is what MY channel is for: MY experience. I told my story about my issues with all the flat tires as a warning for my American viewers because Fluid Freeride is the main or only distributor here, and I want them to know that I did not get the correct innertube replacement from Fluid. If you have a place where you can quickly get quality innertubes for the Mantis, good for you. I have not had that experience though. Thanks for watching and supporting as always.
I also had clamp that way round, I don't see why having it this way would make a difference...its looks better...although the stem did split the other week just above the clamp lol
You should definitely replace the aluminum steering neck and the fork after that hard crash! Your scooter will not be safe to operate until you fix the crash damage. Something is obviously bent because of the lack of clearance at the front of the deck. It is way less than mine even when you flex it away.
I have a I Ninebot Max it's great very solid and dependable machine. I had my heart set on a Mantis but the hard truth and harsh reality of this video has changed my view. I appreciate this video for telling it like it is.
Newer mantis is built with a forged single piece of aviation grade aluminum that stretches from the part that connects the deck to stem, to the rear kick plate. This insures the problem at 8:14 will never occur.
Where do you find this information? I've just got the Kaboo Skywalker 10c and some said it also had a similar issue due to its construction. Information about kaboo models are really difficult to find
The thing I love about this rant is very true - nobody does any follow up, sturdiness or longevity testing on any scooters. A consumer hands the seller a couple thousand or more dollars, then the companies change the models every 12-18 months. Dualtron for example has about a dozen different ones, they also have the Speedway models and now they carry the BlueTran models. Why in the world does a scooter company need so many models and who is going to keep track of their quality? In reality I only see room for maybe 5 speed versions of a scooter with interchangeable street and off-road tires included in the price: 0-15mph, up to 30, up to 45, up to 60, and then highway speeds 60 > 80+mph I would also make the scooters modular to change deck width, stem height and be able to install a reinforced bracket to mount a seat that sits back closer to the rear tire or add a basket to the same seat post. Dualtron is not alone in this hype driven platform so what I would like to see is longer warranties that I don't have to pay an extra $400-$600 for 3 years. If the product is good then I shouldn't have to pay extra to insure it and possibly get the run-a-round when I make a claim. Don't care if someone gets offended because if I'm paying thousands of dollars for a big battery and a few hundred dollars in parts that get imported and manufactured from overseas, I want to make sure it will last. These scooters are rated for people 220 to 350Lbs. so it should tested rigorously with the heaviest listed weight for at least 1,000 miles before bringing it to market. The electronics, brakes and other components should all be tested as well and have certificates like they do with other products costing thousands of dollars.
I used it for about 700 miles and gave it to my nephews. Bought a car. It got wet once and the control card burned, mantis gave me one at no cost. The tires get worn out rather quickly and it's really hard to replace them. Other than that it helped me a lot and it's a lot of fun to ride.@@AJCoReTV
@@zipitnick5838 It's been great to me it was my means of transportation when I could not afford a car. Left it out one night and got wet the control card burned. They sent me a new one at no cost I replaced it. Gave it to my nephews still going strong. It's hard to replace the tires unless they changed something with the new ones. I am a grown 200 pounds man and this thing carried me around in comfort.
Flat tires on a scooter are really a nigtmare. This was the reason why I sold my Xiamo 365 after only a few weeks, even though I really enjoyed riding it. Besides the inner tubes required, also the process of replacing them with these tiny wheels is pure torture.
Silly for selling for that reason. I had four flats in the first 6 weeks. I now have mon-punture tyres and they are great. Three months in and no issues
Prince L ~ Yes the Max tires are air filled, but they are also pre-slimed by the company and are self healing tires up to a 6mm puncture. I have about 300 miles on my Ninebot so far without any issues. I love it! Just be sure to keep the tires properly inflated. Especially the front. So far it’s holding up to these New York City streets.
@@NoProGoPronto oh nice, then I'm 100% getting the max when I can. My current scooter can take me around campus and nearby places but it has a small range I only get 9 miles
thanks for being honest with your review. your experience is your experience and honesty goes a long way and could help someone in the future...keep up the good work
Sooo happy I’m not the only one with all the mantis problems. I didn’t have the greatest of experiences with the distributor. I have the pro model and it is not any better. Thanks for this video.
I knew something happened when we didn't hear from you and your Mantis vids for some time. My Mantis is doing fine for now but I do see low quality issues with mine. All scooters have issues though, even Dualtrons. Spend your money wisely folks!
@@jesusisoursavior2682 you're not wrong bro. I think your xiaomi is a similar build to my segway ninebot max G30 that was stolen. I replaced it with a Zero 9 and while it's faster, it doesn't inspire the same confidence the G30 did with it's rock solid build. Zero 9 has far too much stem wobble that messes with low speed stability when turning. Plus, I've seen a few pictures of the folding mechanism bending or snapping off entirely.. along with one picture of the whole rear suspension snapping off.
@@Director-M thats why i dont switch scooter im staying my xiaomi pro but u already upgraded with speed bat and range plus i put already front suspension. but still i have no problem on all parts.
True that. I have a Dualtron Mini. Which I love very much! Amazing scooter all together so fat but it came with an improperly alligned stem which meant that if I held me steering wheel straight, my wheel would be some degrees to the left. I had to drill the holes bigger and now it's perfectly alligned. Still... for a company that makes $8000 scooters, that is not ok.
Thank you for this follow up video. It's what we REALLY need. All the "wow, look at the new XXXXX model" are useless for determining the quality and longevity of a scooter. Only after being used for at least 3 to 4 hundred hours is a true review possible. Thank you for this. Great information.
Holy crap if inner tubes are impossible to get then that's honestly a show stopper. Tires (and tubes) are one of the most important parts on a vehicle expected to be used on the road
... There are bolts on the sides of the Deck, they become accesible once you remove the front "Bumper" ...if i ever encounter that stem "problem" ill tighten the bolts and also JB weld it together permanently
I have a mantis pro and these are valid concerns. Thank you for bringing them to my attention. I'll keep an eye out for these issues. Its ridiculous that they are not selling the right part for their scooter on their own website and overcharging you as well. These are definetly manufacturing issues and they should replace the whole scooter especially now that you've attempted to fix them yourself. Thank you. I hope your replacement doesnt have the same issues.
Get a dualtron eagle pro or zero10x. As a Mantis owner, really saddens me to see all these issues. Such a fun machine but not worth the risk. I’m only at 200 miles with no major problems but only a matter of time. Thank you sharing this video, will educate riders on what to look out for. Ride safe!
Get rid of flats forever by putting tuffy tire liners on it. I used to have a e-longboard with off road tires and was constantly getting flats. Put tuffys on and wrapped it so I had 3 layers thick. I never ever had a flat again. I couldnt even puncture through with a needle when I was testing.
To everyone trying to purchase a scooter that’s kinda similar to the Mantis. Please get the Dualtron Eagle Pro 🦅 it’s very similar to the Mantis. I have already put in like 400 miles, and haven’t had any problems. It’s all about maintain your scooter correctly.
I agree with you but just to clarify.....if someone wants to get the Mantis Pro, DEF go for the DT Eagle Pro! They are the same price and the better made and more available parts scooter is the DT! If you still want the Mantis, just get yourself the base model.
I just run a Xiaomi pro scooter with 1000 miles with little issue. I'm surprised from when they charge top dollar for a scooter with so many issues to a point you're not enjoying it. I was considering a fluidfreeride but maybe I should investigate further. Most who have upgraded continue to 👍👍👍👍to dualtron. Sorry to hear you're having so many issues.
1. Did you try to bend the tire valve w pliers to the correct angle 2. For any loose parts you can try to weld them together. This is regarding the loose footboard
Luckily I avoided the mantis myself, the stem bolt issues were enough to scare me away. Have 2100 miles on my t10-ddm(10x factory direct) I highly recommend it because it has none of those major issues. There’s a couple trivial things but nothing like you’re describing here. Kaabo always been a little shady with the recalls/replacement stem bolts...
Thanks a lot for this review. I was actually considering the Mantis. I can't believe the poor design, engineering, and manufacturing of a $1600 scooter. Very disappointing.
Vsett 10+ is what I chose over the mantis pro for the same price in the country I reside in (Sweden) I had to go test the weight see see if I can lift it up (36 kg is no joke) turned out its possible for me to lift it and hold it so it was a no brainer just go for something reliable i swear even vsett have their problems but it's the best we have so far and it's issues can be easily addresses (fender extension, waterproofing for example )
That's why I went with Zero 10X it had the most long term reviews and aftermarket support. I received it August 22nd and already have 834 miles and no mechanical issues. I'll be doing my 1000 mile review shortly on my channel.
Weight is a small favor but it ultimately comes down to build quality. The mantis is known to have problems with the stems breaking. It's pretty clear something eventually going to snap on this guy's scooter. Unless your riding the wolf warrior I'd stay away from Kaboo.
I was going to include a picture to help you out, sometimes thinking outside the box works best, especially different circumstances, in about 25 seconds on eBay, I found the same exact tire you and I have on the Mantis without air... Instead of a tube they have a softer compound foam that mimics a pneumatic tire, problem solved indefinitely for $30
Dude I got over 1200 miles on my mantis 10 and it's still going strong as ever.... battery hasn't lost any power and all I've had to do so far is replace my tires and brake pads... my brakes work beautifully.
Sorry you are having so many problems with your scooter. I can’t help but think that most of your damage was caused by that high speed collision with a curb early on. You nailed that curb hard. I would have expected damage to the wheels and especially the steering head and deck. The fact that it didn’t break in half is surprising. The factory tires are easily damaged by impact and this will cut cords inside. This will make the tire eat tubes. Constant flats until the offending tire is replaced. Any scooter with theses tires can have this same problem. I have a Mantis Pro that has almost 700 miles on it. Tightening bolts with thread locker is a must on these machines, just like off-road motorcycles. The 3 inch wide tires that are available for these fit perfect and are much thicker and can be purchased with tubes that fit fine. I have had no flats since I made this upgrade. The bolts that come on all of these Chinese scooters are low quality and will stretch if either over tightened or over stressed in a crash. Super high quality replacements should be considered. Cheap and fairly easy to change out. I think the Mantis is just fine if it is checked and maintained regularly. All of them will need this. Good luck.
Nv Yes. The 10x 3” road tires that I put on mine clear just fine and using them put an end to all my tire problems. No more pinch flats or punctures. It seemed like I was constantly getting flat tires with the stock setup. The tires I bought were from China and they are made by TUOVT 80/65-6

Finally a real review. These top youtube guys get their scooters for free and every single scooter they review is "oh so good, best one yet, insane, crazy" yadda yadda. Complete bs. Thank you! Unfortunately I wish I saw this a week ago. I just got the mantis king gt, brand new the front tire won't hold air.
Another great video and so sorry to hear the issues you're having. I'm up to 700 miles on my Mantis with no problems yet. Here's hoping that it stays that way. This is my third scooter and I had a similar issue with another brand and it just seemed like I got a lemon. I'm still loving the Mantis for the amazing way it rides. It's really early days for the scooter industry, so let's hope the general quality of products continues to improve as things get more mainstream. Love the channel as always...
Are instructions for bending the stem given by the manufacturer/Fluid? Why would they send a defective part that needs to be bent to be used? Guarantee they won't replace it when you mess up and tear the tube.
@@skeletronmw Possibly those tubes were not ment to be on that wheel at all. Compare the new tube with the original one! Yes you can bend the valve. Make shure the valve is not rubbing in a wrong angle in the wheel. It can weaken valve & the rubbery part. Also the bent axel will vibrate the valve & the wheel thus rips it. Flats can you easily occur.
The inner tubes are easy to find, they are 15$ shipped on Aliexpress for a pair of them. The mat is easy to tack down with some glue. Stem issues have been resolved and updated with the newest models, there have been no reports that I know of regarding stem issues. That motor wobble is deffinitly unacceptable though, I hope they improved the quality control and design of it by now. It also sounds like you have had many bolts/screws come lose. This can cause a lot of wiggle and play in the joints. This only makes things worse, so you need to make sure that you lock tite them, when they come lose so that they don't come lose again. Towards the end of the video I see where the stem meets the deck, the whole insert is sloppy. There should be bolts underneath the deck, those are likely very lose! Lock tite and re tighten to spec. Also lock tite and re tighten the screws on top of the deck. Without lock tite, it'll just come lose again
For the kickstand solution, after superglue failed, I may have tried a Die and Tap Kit, to attempt repair of the threads, and/or to make new threads, and maybe new bolts and lockwashers too.
3 thousand km on my Ride. LED strip died after 600 km, rear hydraulic brake started leaking and died after 800 km. Besided that all well. Of course, as a precaution, I waterproofed it and re-tighened all bolts with glue.
I like his bags of sand, that allow a rear wheel to spin, to see / test hub or tire issues. But I may have also put a piece of cardboard between the scooter and sand bags, to prevent them from potentially being punctured, as some scooters don't have a flat bottom or have bolt heads sticking out. Yeah, the bags of sand are cheap, but once punctured, they tend to leak each time you move them, making a mess, both in the repair location, and tracked into the house, where they get deep into carpet. Also, I recently replaced my front tube (on a different scooter), not because it was flat, but because I had a tube to review. And I found, if I had the axle bolt very tight, it would start to affect a free wheel spin. But loosening it some, and I had concerns it could work itself loose, especially over time or many miles. Yeah, mine has those tabbed washers to prevent this. But I opted to also use a medium threadlocker fluid.
WRONG! The front end of your 10X SUCKS BALLS. And the only reason why you think it’s ok is because you have never ridden a real scooter like a Kaabo Wolf Warrior or a RION. And it’s not like the 60 watt 10X is cheap$$ either cause it’s not! It’s way overpriced is what it is.
stop the hate. so what if we didnt have the wolf or 11x.my choice is 10x because it is more easy to transport and does not need me to leave my kid just to fit a scooter. still same fun ride. rion is way up there and id rather pay for a motorcycle if i wastemy money with that amount
@@jr8472 I agree the Rion has cool tech but their prices are just silly now that other companies are making them 62-75mph for 1/3 less compared to the Rion. The only place where the Rion excels is that it weighs a lot less than the competition but even if I had the money I wouldn't pay it for a scooter and rather put the $9-10,000 as a down payment on a investment property to rent out. I've had a few motorcycles and terrible how easy they are to steal if you do not have a garage wherever you park it. Scooters you can take with you so problem solved but prices are too much for the fast ones and most only have a 1 year warranty.
thank you so much for doing a review of the problems on this electric scooter I wanted to buy this electric scooter but changed my mind thank you so much you saved my money...
I had this scooter and it was great. Super fast. I only sold it because I felt I would be more comfortable on an ebike. Not going to get the same speed out of an ebike but will be way more super chill as 2000w scooters are like constantly being on a roller coaster. Fun for a bit but bound to be extremely dangerous over time.
Thanks a lot man. And glad i came across your channel. I was about to order one. And it is true, spare parts distributors are important, that's why i am going for the Segway Ninebot max G30. A friend of mine who owns one, recommended this to me. That's why i think it would be wise for me to order one from a shop nearby who has all the parts instead of ordering a Mantis from China.
I was considering the Ninebot Max, the Apollo Ghost & the Mantis. No wonder the Mantis is now on sale @ Fluid website. Apparently it’s poor build quality.
I had the same issue with my mantis, you can fix the shaking part by taking off the from covert where the light are and tightening the 4 screw on each side
i had my first flat and innertubes for mantis pro are not available at fluid, after a couple tries and returns from amazon ,i found that you can get them on ebay and the same innertube for zero 10x ( cant remember the company name that sells zero 10x) ,they worked just fine.i have 300 miles on my scooter and the only problem i have had was my front brake caliper was leaking fluid since day one i had been riding with only rear brake, , fluid sent me a new one free of charge, nice to have both front and rear ,big difference, and since i was changing the rear i went ahead and switched to the off road tires, i was concerned that the clearance would be an issue , but they run just fine ,no issues at all.
Wow!Do Not continue riding that scooter. I can't believe the front section is totally coming off. My god. Confirming everyones suspicions about the mantis. Just be glad your stem didn't snap mid ride like others... Curious, what was your psi In the tubes when they kept going flat?
@@-joo3033 so you confirm the stem snapping issue is a known defect. But you deny it happened to other people?... How can that be the case if it didn't happen to anyone else? ... Re-read my statement.
@@GingerOnWheels no i mean the stem snapping is a different thing from the Chassis screws getting loose, the stem snapping is due to the bolt in the bottom of the handlebar snapping (it has been fixed in the mantis V3)...sorry if this sounded offensive :)

There is no way those two little screws secure the front frame. You either need to take the thing apart and loctite all fasteners, or if you aren't comfortable doing that, get someone who is. And maybe some solid tyres or a run flat variant would help you. Best of luck.
Oh man I'm just reading all the reviews. Now I feel weird about this. I ordered the mantis because all the positive reviews that I saw. Mine is actually on its way and arriving today. I'm hoping that I don't have this experience. I was thinking that maybe you just got a lemon or a defective one. Its on a 6months warranty so I can't change things now.
I was looking to upgrade to a mantis after my Apollo explore got flooded and is no longer working. Thanks for review I will no longer consider the mantis as a replacement. Sorry that you had to go through this.
Have just limped back from a ride on my kaboo mantis pro after the back brake locked up on closer inspection have found the power cord supplying the back motor has been completely shredded by the disc brake! and half it wrapped around the back wheel.. I have only done 450km on this $3000NZ new kaboo scooter. Hopefully my distributor Storm Rides has some answers to why this occurred and can repair it.. it could have been serious had I been moving at speed..this is my second issue as I picked up a flat within a week of having it due to under inflation of rear tire which I assumed would have been inflated to the correct specification prior to riding or the very least a warning to get in fully done to 40psi...I can appreciate maintenance issues can occur from time to time but im starting to qs the build quality..Gordy
Don't worry about it. Mines is fine, he got a messed up scooter and I bet they will replace it. first, Get it water proofed Second, get better inner tubes, i got better ones and never got a flat again. The only thing that happened for me, is was my suspension broke. And that's because how i had it in the car trunk wrong , it gotten lose then came off. I fixed it, but still going to have them replace it. The scooter is still great. But I do agree about the flats though, those inner tubes are cheap as shit.
Hi-TyCh I’m hoping to have the flat issue covered. My brother-in-law runs a tire shop here in town and he was my one stop shop for all my cycling needs in the past.
I’m having the same issue with my mantis 8 with the base of the deck. Kaabo keeps saying it’s the stem. I sent them a video and it’s taking forever to deal with this issue.
Sorry to hear those issues man, and thanks. I have zero 10x. Just got it. I am having a few probs with loose stem. But that is something you have to occasionally look at throughout the life of any scooter, its normal. I've not come across one yet that didn't have that issue. My main prop is the battery. Its 52v version. The battery keeps cutting out completely at around 53v. I'm sure its the BMS. I plan to open it up and bypass the discharge leads going through the BMS. Keeping the charge section intact. Anyone else had this issue?
I’ve done 500kms in my mantis and the rotor is bent as well and I tried to contact the company where I got it from for the guaranty and basically what they said is that the come like that from fabric which is a ridiculous answer. I mean, we’ve spent $1600 dollars on it!!
I'm getting an e-scooter soon (the Kugoo G-Booster), and since I'm pretty heavy, I was worried about how sturdy the attachment of the stem to the deck would turn out to be, as well as the suspension, as that's the main attachment point of the wheels, and those would be the most likely failure points if it can't take my weight over time (although the manufacturer rates it at 170 kg, I don't know how much that can be trusted) Watching this video made me feel a bit better, as on the G-Booster, the stem is attached both on the overside and underside, meaning they seem to know what they're doing and took some care in making sure it's sturdy, so it hopefully shouldn't exhibit a similar issue. That probably bodes well for the overall quality although that remains to be seen. You can see how it's attached in this picture, and it seems to be a good design to me, but I have no previous e-scooter experience: images.ru.prom.st/658453961_elektrosamokat-kugoo-g-booster.jpg If you are in the market for a new e-scooter to replace the Mantis, I can't vouch for the G-Booster since I don't have it yet, but it may be something worth looking at. It's very reasonably priced considering the specs. There is a lack of long term reviews of it though.
g booster has it's issues also, more or less not different: 1. the stock inflate valve it's too small and you won't be able to pump air correctly, buying aftermarket inner tubes with angled valves will only solve half the issue; 2. on some models, the wheel is wobbling due to tire quality, you may fix with another tire or maybe not...
@@alexg2089 There is only 1 tire available, they're all the same one, no matter where I look. If they went with a more standard tire size, it would be easy to find higher quality tires... Can't put bigger tires on because it would collide with the suspension block. Didn't have any problems pumping it up though. Had to get an adapter because the valve was so close to the brake disc but once I got that it was fine.
@@valentinobobinackrivacic409 Aw. Seems like that is a common issue on a lot of e-scooters. I hope that doesn't happen to me in the middle of a ride, I would go flying.
I have nanrobot d6+ and I can relate to him from the very first day I am having troubles with inner tubes. The replacement inner tubes are always 1 in small in width so it causes strain on the tube and it does not last long. Not sure where we can get the correct inner tubes or is it just a monopoly in China 🙄
The stem on my Kaboo mantis cracked around the clamping point thanks god i noticed it quickly cause of a strange wobbling i contacted the supplier in china via Alibaba and they sent me a new upgraded stem, it was really difficult to replace due to the wiring and bake lines i have the mantis pro with hydraulic brakes by the way, and last but not least the common brake noise that most of us know about i had to replace the rear disc brake cause it was slightly bent but other than i have had a lot of fun with the scooter no flats tires so far.
I now have owned my kaabo mantis 10 pro for 2 months, riden 505km and only 2 flats (same hole) went to the Thansen (mecanic shop) and they had one that matched but the wrong angle, i got it fitted tho. No problems otherwise a great scooter

In reality I only see room for maybe 5 speed versions of a scooter with interchangeable street and off-road tires included in the price: 0-15mph, up to 30, up to 45, up to 60, and then highway speeds 60 > 80+mph
I would also make the scooters modular to change deck width, stem height and be able to install a reinforced bracket to mount a seat that sits back closer to the rear tire or add a basket to the same seat post.
Yes you're right.Industry level inspections & approvals is a must⚡⚠️💥
I just got one KM 8. This is an old video so hopefully they have improved the quality. So far is great.
Thinking of getting Mantis 10 lite… how is your mantis holding up?
I used it for about 700 miles and gave it to my nephews. Bought a car. It got wet once and the control card burned, mantis gave me one at no cost. The tires get worn out rather quickly and it's really hard to replace them. Other than that it helped me a lot and it's a lot of fun to ride.@@AJCoReTV
Getting mantis 10 lite
Also curious about the state of your KM8
@FlyWithMe666~ Go with the Ninebot Max. For me, that scooter is flawless.
Silly for selling for that reason. I had four flats in the first 6 weeks. I now have mon-punture tyres and they are great. Three months in and no issues
@@NoProGoPronto i want to get the max as an upgrade, but doesn't it use air tires? is it likely that they pop?
Prince L ~ Yes the Max tires are air filled, but they are also pre-slimed by the company and are self healing tires up to a 6mm puncture. I have about 300 miles on my Ninebot so far without any issues. I love it! Just be sure to keep the tires properly inflated. Especially the front. So far it’s holding up to these New York City streets.
@@NoProGoPronto oh nice, then I'm 100% getting the max when I can. My current scooter can take me around campus and nearby places but it has a small range I only get 9 miles
In a pinch you can use two ring spanners to bend a valve stem. Feed the two spanners over the stem and lever them against or away from one another.
thanks for being honest with your review. your experience is your experience and honesty goes a long way and could help someone in the future...keep up the good work
Sooo happy I’m not the only one with all the mantis problems. I didn’t have the greatest of experiences with the distributor. I have the pro model and it is not any better. Thanks for this video.
Really it's supposed to be better
I knew something happened when we didn't hear from you and your Mantis vids for some time. My Mantis is doing fine for now but I do see low quality issues with mine. All scooters have issues though, even Dualtrons. Spend your money wisely folks!
thats why im saying xiaomi pro is best scooter in the world 😂✌️
@@jesusisoursavior2682 you're not wrong bro.
@@jesusisoursavior2682 Besides 2 flats, no issues so far.
Thank you for this follow up video. It's what we REALLY need. All the "wow, look at the new XXXXX model" are useless for determining the quality and longevity of a scooter. Only after being used for at least 3 to 4 hundred hours is a true review possible. Thank you for this. Great information.
That's why I like to listen to French and English reviewers they are much more critical of everything or long term reviews like you said are the best.
Is the mantis pro worth it thinking of buyin it today? Wat sorta problems did u have?
Get a dualtron eagle pro or zero10x. As a Mantis owner, really saddens me to see all these issues. Such a fun machine but not worth the risk. I’m only at 200 miles with no major problems but only a matter of time. Thank you sharing this video, will educate riders on what to look out for. Ride safe!
The high cost of tubes is probably due to a very small and specialized product. That always costs more.
Bullshit. Do you know how many scooters there in the world? They are ripping us off.
Thanks for your insight, you saved me a ton of head ache and grief. Great job
Why didn't you get it fixed under warranty. The hub problem would have neen covered
I definitely AGREE !
zero 10x if you want cheaper, ive put 650 miles on mine
Same motors, hubs and tires as the Mantis so tube and tire issues will be the same. I am thinking user errors.
1. Did you try to bend the tire valve w pliers to the correct angle
2. For any loose parts you can try to weld them together. This is regarding the loose footboard
509 miles is very new. That’s ridiculous. Thank you so much for this video. It helped a lot.
For the price to mile ratio, you could have driven a Porsche for that much
Luckily I avoided the mantis myself, the stem bolt issues were enough to scare me away.

Vsett 10+ is what I chose over the mantis pro for the same price in the country I reside in (Sweden)
I had to go test the weight see see if I can lift it up (36 kg is no joke) turned out its possible for me to lift it and hold it so it was a no brainer just go for something reliable i swear even vsett have their problems but it's the best we have so far and it's issues can be easily addresses (fender extension, waterproofing for example )

Weight is a small favor but it ultimately comes down to build quality. The mantis is known to have problems with the stems breaking. It's pretty clear something eventually going to snap on this guy's scooter. Unless your riding the wolf warrior I'd stay away from Kaboo.
@@alyviaveer8908 A clamp extension solves all that problem. Or a tripple clamp lock .Bingo.
I was going to include a picture to help you out, sometimes thinking outside the box works best, especially different circumstances, in about 25 seconds on eBay, I found the same exact tire you and I have on the Mantis without air... Instead of a tube they have a softer compound foam that mimics a pneumatic tire, problem solved indefinitely for $30
"Instead of a tube they have a softer compound " . Is it TUBLESS?
Good luck.
moral of the story. dont destroy your stuff
It says to use 10x 2.5” tyres.
You’re saying 10x3” tyres work fine for my base model mantis ?
Nv Yes. The 10x 3” road tires that I put on mine clear just fine and using them put an end to all my tire problems. No more pinch flats or punctures. It seemed like I was constantly getting flat tires with the stock setup. The tires I bought were from China and they are made by TUOVT 80/65-6

Indeed. It depends on how you ride it. I saw people doing all sort of stuff on some scooters that really weren't made for all that.
You can bend the valve for the tube I drive semi some times we have to bend valves to fit all the time
Are instructions for bending the stem given by the manufacturer/Fluid? Why would they send a defective part that needs to be bent to be used? Guarantee they won't replace it when you mess up and tear the tube.
Even if you bend it dosent fit
@@skeletronmw
Possibly those tubes were not ment to be on that wheel at all.
I would say that the problems he is experiencing are 80% his own doing. Unrealistic expectations.
For the kickstand solution, after superglue failed, I may have tried a Die and Tap Kit, to attempt repair of the threads, and/or to make new threads, and maybe new bolts and lockwashers too.
Thanks for your honest opinion, I will cross this one off the list.
3 thousand km on my Ride. LED strip died after 600 km, rear hydraulic brake started leaking and died after 800 km. Besided that all well. Of course, as a precaution, I waterproofed it and re-tighened all bolts with glue.
Thank you for sharing all of this. I was going to go test ride a Mantis Pro today but after seeing this will be passing on Kaabo altogether.
Your main issue is due to the bearings, change them and you will be fine.
Yup
Whoaaa i almost bought the mantis 10 lite...went with the blade mini instead
Order zero 10x I've bought it at the same time when you bought your mantis. It's still perfect

There is no way those two little screws secure the front frame. You either need to take the thing apart and loctite all fasteners, or if you aren't comfortable doing that, get someone who is.
And maybe some solid tyres or a run flat variant would help you.

Been waiting for your next video! And have been looking at a Mantis because of you specifically. Thank you for this video!
was the bent back wheel problem ever resolved?
Sorry to hear those issues man, and thanks. I have zero 10x. Just got it. I am having a few probs with loose stem. But that is something you have to occasionally look at throughout the life of any scooter, its normal. I've not come across one yet that didn't have that issue. My main prop is the battery. Its 52v version. The battery keeps cutting out completely at around 53v. I'm sure its the BMS. I plan to open it up and bypass the discharge leads going through the BMS. Keeping the charge section intact. Anyone else had this issue?
What about the Kaaba wolf worrier x pro is it any better or is this brand just bad quality
I’ve done 500kms in my mantis and the rotor is bent as well and I tried to contact the company where I got it from for the guaranty and basically what they said is that the come like that from fabric which is a ridiculous answer. I mean, we’ve spent $1600 dollars on it!!
I'm getting an e-scooter soon (the Kugoo G-Booster), and since I'm pretty heavy, I was worried about how sturdy the attachment of the stem to the deck would turn out to be, as well as the suspension, as that's the main attachment point of the wheels, and those would be the most likely failure points if it can't take my weight over time (although the manufacturer rates it at 170 kg, I don't know how much that can be trusted)
Watching this video made me feel a bit better, as on the G-Booster, the stem is attached both on the overside and underside, meaning they seem to know what they're doing and took some care in making sure it's sturdy, so it hopefully shouldn't exhibit a similar issue. That probably bodes well for the overall quality although that remains to be seen.
You can see how it's attached in this picture, and it seems to be a good design to me, but I have no previous e-scooter experience: images.ru.prom.st/658453961_elektrosamokat-kugoo-g-booster.jpg
If you are in the market for a new e-scooter to replace the Mantis, I can't vouch for the G-Booster since I don't have it yet, but it may be something worth looking at.
Kugoo g booster loves to snap on the stem part, but that can be fixed. Just google kugoo g booster snaped or cracked stem
And watch out for display and throttle body, mine didnt survive one ride in a car. It was all broken and cracked. It is really shitty plastic.

Same size tubes with presta valve, ?
I have nanrobot d6+ and I can relate to him from the very first day I am having troubles with inner tubes.
The replacement inner tubes are always 1 in small in width so it causes strain on the tube and it does not last long.
Not sure where we can get the correct inner tubes or is it just a monopoly in China 🙄
I'm confused, on the Kaabo websight, It states that the Mantis 8 comes with tubeless tires.
Should I avoid buying the Mantis X?
The suspension just broke on mines. Luckily, it's still under warranty. I gotta get it fixed. And I'm way over 500 miles.
Has kaboo fixed all the issues yet
Shit I just brought the lite one I’m hoping I don’t have the same wobble
How’s it holding up? The mantis 10 lite?
The stem on my Kaboo mantis cracked around the clamping point thanks god i noticed it quickly cause of a strange wobbling i contacted the supplier in china via Alibaba and they sent me a new upgraded stem, it was really difficult to replace due to the wiring and bake lines i have the mantis pro with hydraulic brakes by the way, and last but not least the common brake noise that most of us know about i had to replace the rear disc brake cause it was slightly bent but other than i have had a lot of fun with the scooter no flats tires so far.
thank you,,much thanks so what is the best scoter,,you think that can go above 40 and wont fall apart,,
I now have owned my kaabo mantis 10 pro for 2 months, riden 505km and only 2 flats (same hole) went to the Thansen (mecanic shop) and they had one that matched but the wrong angle, i got it fitted tho. No problems otherwise a great scooter
thank you for honest review.
Love your videos. But the way you ride your Mantis, these issues were expected. I would suggest making videos on how to fix this issues. By the way i don't even have a Mantis)
Im so glad I bought the Varla Eagle One!
Thank you RK9 , I Was contemplating buying this scooter but you have definately given me an eye opener about it......Shame that You spend between $ 1000 and $1600 and these companies still get it wrong or they are purely in it for the Maximun profit .....Either way its a shame , Im looking for my First scooter , would like something that can reach 23 or 24 miles per hour with decent suspension , 1 Honeycomb tire and 1 Pneumatic Tire , with a 24 to 25 Mile range , Decent lights and no rattling of the Stem or other Parts while Riding ....Open to any recomendations .....would also get a scooter that has both Pneumatic Tires as long as they are not difficult and time consuming to change .
