    I find it really interesting how people believe that they can find success in an industry they don't try to fully understand. With that outlook, you really can't go far yet, so many people are always doing just that. That was a really interesting vod to listen to, great stream!

      I don't understand why he calls himself Harry. The chances of him being named Harry while having been born in Taiwan are slim at best. This feels like when Indian scam callers tell you their name is Sam but in actuality it's Muthahar or something.

    Now that I think about it, You need to make that plan about making "CEO Blacklist" Into reality.
    For the betterment of the world, especially this industry.
    This was really really needed.

    One thing I don't understand, why didn't Captain have the already established PRISM Project vTubers stream on the service instead of leaving them to die off with Sony rather than partnering with Harry? Having them do exclusive streams on the app to slowly build up an audience there, working with (popular) indie vTubers (especially banned vTubers from UA-cam and Twitch) to stream there too. Thinking about it, it is his app so he could have allowed ASMR content there.

    • @theArmcha1rExpert
      @theArmcha1rExpert  13 днів тому +5

      It is entirely possible that he may have approached some of the previous PRISM Project VTubers with a proposal but that they just weren't interested. However, a more cynical assumption would be that, as seen in Harry's Christmas post, entrepreneurs of this kind tend to hold little if any interest in old projects once a successful exit has been made. They move on pretty quickly, and it's entirely possible that Captain conceived the idea for Anilive only after selling off PRISM, meaning that it probably wouldn't have played into his ultimate decision to palm the project off to Sony.

    • @jegantdragoch.7088
      @jegantdragoch.7088 10 днів тому

      captain did get some of the prism project talents to use the app already. not all of them, but at the time it was only for apple and not android so i did not get to watch or know how good the app was.
      but for sure what ever happened. those prism talents who came to use the app dont really use it anymore after the first try or at least dont advertise that they are streaming at the app anymore.
      he most likely sold prism to have the money to create the app

      I'm not sure how public of a figure he is, so I'd probably need to do quite some reading before I can say for sure. I wouldn't rule it out though, based on how NijiEN performs over this year.

    "You're not a wizard Harry... Or is it? "
    "Truth is... The game rigged form the start"
    That's basically how the stream goes... Well my way of coping in Reverend Insanity That is Harry. The stream pretty exhausting... Almost felt like watching dustbin again.
    But yeah, this stream could be included in my list favorite streams.
    After I give it a bit of thought, It's surprising that I could witness the start of an Industry. Not when I knew nothing about it... Immature Is the word? But as a person That is a little bit less immature. Ultimately, it's a fun thing to witness it, it's a fun thing for me. Yeah, Fun.
    Well... That's it. Thank you for reading this brick of text and I hope you have a good day.
    And get well soon Armcha1r.

    I feel like they made Nexus so they can get other bigger vtuber to get on Anilive. Bigger Vtuber won’t join some random streaming site if they don’t see any benefits from it but if they see that site all ready have other vtuber using it they might be willing to give a chance. That way AniLive would get a slice of that bigger vtuber pie. Probably how AniLive got Vtubers like Shiki to stream on their site. But that’s just my theory.

  • @megarotom1590
    @megarotom1590 9 днів тому +1

    Yeah while I believe talent freedom and low revenue splits are things that can be upsides having ONLY talent freedom, low revenue split, etc to brand off of its like having a broken product marketed on being cheap.
    A good affordable price is ofc nice to have but you still need something in return. Lower price might mean you need less to be worth isn’t the same as needing nothing at all (and given the anilive debuff it might be worth less than nothing)
    Talent freedom isn’t a benefit so much as bureaucracy and restrictions are additional costs.
    Even the vshojo contracts wouldn’t be worth it if vshojo did absolutely nothing for talents.
    In Nexus’s case all they offer is seminars, a brand nobody knows or trust, connections with talents you’re incentivized to compete with instead, and an app nobody knows.
    You have to strike somewhere above that line. Holo takes a lot but also gives a lot. Vshojo takes almost nothing and gives a good amount. Niji and Nexus both seem to take a lot and give little

    this is focused on NEXAS but something missing about AniLive for a different stream is maybe how they are trying to use AI to create vtube models (png models+ai picture animation movements maybeee) for some talents and there was some drama about it a few months ago.

  • @chrisbrauer5377
    @chrisbrauer5377 14 днів тому +4

    Sorry, Chairman. I fell asleep halfway through the stream and have right now finished the VOD.
    You seem to be upset with their amalgamation of anime and vtubing culture. Fair point actually. But if you view it from the perspective of what Harry declared he wants to sell to the investors, it makes perfect sense. Anime is all about the IP, not the Author of the original work, certainly not the hardworking animators behind them. For investors, this is very appealing. It cuts out the human cost influence from the equasion, by asuming everyone is just a replacable worker in building up IP's that create value.

    You know if he wanted to invest in a bunch of vtubers to get one of them to be able to break through and recoup his investment that would’ve made much more sense. At least then it would’ve been honest about that he doesn’t actually care and is just trying to invest.

    I’d actually argue the way affirmative action in the US at least is set up, we actually don’t have equality of opportunity in the education system but that’s because they’re trying to force equality of outcome which really doesn’t work. Especially when the affirmative action is tied to stuff like race. But I digress

  • @megarotom1590
    @megarotom1590 9 днів тому

    I’d say vshojo has some internal competition just cause how twitch works. Twitch isn’t super friendly to people watching stuff as vods so anytime two people have overlap in when they’re streaming there’s some level of competition cause most dedicated twitch users do it for the higher live interaction. But that could just be my Twitch bias and I’m not super in tune to livestream culture either so could be wrong (I mean I watch the majority of livestreams as vods)
    As far as rigorous work load id say most in vshojo do but self inflicted (minus Kuro cause taxes). Since the people they grab are hard working they end up kind of naturally do that. Though probably not the same level of workload as holo for most of them but hard to say for sure
