    That frame nearly fell off at the end there. Almost like you didn't screw it on at all haha. Great to hear your voice Oli, hope all is going well mate and stoked to see you doing this kind of thing. All the best mate!

      hahaha you caught me fair and square! I had to take the wheel off to screw it in properly, but didn't have an allan key (only the electric one and it wasn't strong enough) so I said "Sod it, I'll hold it there instead, who's gonna know?" And I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids... ;P - Thanks for commenting!!! Hope I do more, it's taken me long enough!!! All the best to you too!

    This skate looks brilliant, especially the cuff and so wide in the toe area so very comfortable to skate all day long! Wish you could slide the frame bolts back and forth a little further for 195 mount but 165 is still great!

      What does 165 mounting mean

    • @DownhillinlineJourney
      @DownhillinlineJourney 4 дні тому

      @@AlexJames123 It's a standard for certain frames where the frames have two mounting holes which are 165mm apart. There's also 195 mount where the holes are 195mm apart. A lot of different skate brands use either 165 or 195 for their frames so it's widely used and quite universal, similar to UFS. So you find all kinds of frames with 165 including racing, freeskate, wizard and downhill frames.

    Very impressive soul.
    Great work Iqon.
    I think really though, the main advantage to this skate is riding UFS so close to the boot without soul plate.
    I was excited about being able to use all mounts, but it seems you loose your heel lift when using adapters.
    That aside, the soul is amazing.
    Honeycomb with Ali contact points is about as good as it gets for energy transfer & feedback from the wheels.

      Thank you!! I have a lot of faith in Justin Thursday from what I've seen. I can't wait to try some aggressive again, not sure when that will be or if my body can handle it, we will see. I'll check out your channel and subscribe!

    • @OliBenet

      Good point, I missed that. It’s basically flat and smooth with recessed points for the receptors, covered by some high density foam over the mounting areas. You have to peel it off if you want to change the mounts to trinity.

      That is a good dream indeed. My favorite plastic ever was actually the first ever Kizer frame plastic, not even sure what that was...

    They need to play around with trying to do a two tone on it. The bottom part of the boot could be colored one part and the other where the line divides could be another. I hope they experiment with that soon. Im sure were all ready for color

    • @OliBenet
      @OliBenet  10 днів тому +1

      That’s a good idea… I think when you do two solid colors on plastic it’s “dual density” which means one part will be softer (unless it’s painted) but not sure… I’ll suggest it to them because it would look good especially for the non aggressive versions

    • @kevincollins8620

      @OliBenet it would look amazing. Also if this is an Urban Skate... Montre with his Urban skills should be showcasing it soon. Also see if they wanna do a trail one for Werbeski. Keep it in the family

    What’s weight of aggressive setup your size?

  • @LifetimeShred
    @LifetimeShred 8 днів тому

    How stiff is the plastic? It’s hard for a skate to do everything well. For example the standard V1 makes a solid budget. Wizard skate, but was too stiff for a lot of aggressive skaters.

    Can someone explain to me why people still skate those plastic boots? They make absolutely no sense to me when you can get a cj that wraps nicely all around your foot. I tried the new omni, the fr ufr had k2 some razors in the past and just dont understand since the cj feels just soooooo much better but i still see so many people skating full plastic even for wizard sometimes. Xan someone enlighten me what am i not seeing?

    • @OliBenet
      @OliBenet  8 днів тому

      Well… you could start with the price, plastic boots are usually around half the price. Also I skate Carbon HC Evos and they are amazing but with the leather etc they are more delicate on the outer. Also sometimes it’s just about your foot size or shape, if it fits you perfectly and the flex feels right, it doesn’t really matter if it’s plastic or carbon or fibreglass really…

    I'll never buy anything iqon again. Had a poor experience with them and once is enough to set a trend.

    • @OliBenet
      @OliBenet  10 днів тому +1

      Fair enough, I've never had any Iqon skates before. I guess another way to look at it is that they are made by Powerslide, so when it's a completely new shell it's got the same risks as any brand / skate.
