Very nice to see this collection together in one video. I agree that the BB Pro is a very wearable watch, and a great do-it-all for someone with a smaller collection. I personally LOVE the FXD and all it stands for (even if you exclude the MN aspect) with it being a true tool watch for a specific purpose. I've had watches I wear in the pool with kids, and spring bars that fail when they're climbing all over me, so a watch with fixed lugs is very appealing. A strap monster for sure. The 39 is a great addition to the Tudor lineup at a compelling price point below Omega, so props to them pulling that off. The 58 is a no brainer for anyone who wants a classically designed but modern build diver, though I agree the bracelet of the modern 39 design language is my preference. Great stuff guys!
I recently got the 39 , it is a replacement to my 16610 Sub as an EDC. Agreed the 21 lugs are annoying but to be honest this is a bracelet watch for me. The included rubber strap is also very nice so if I do fancy a change I have the option.
The lightness of the Ti and the slide lock clasp makes the watch very comfy to wear.
I'm sure there will be a blue version of the new Pelagos 39 in 2023. Currently the black version is a latter day nod to the marvellous 5-digit Submariners IMO.
I could see that, maybe even green which they've held back on releasing for the 42. Cues from Omega might push them to do this, but we'll see hopefully in April!
I hope not; want them to go with something different. Keep the bezel, swap the black dial to white and black text (keep the red Pelagos ) on the dial, darken the hr markers slightly (or make the sides black).
Todays 5 digit Sub is a 40mm Invicta Pro Diver 😂
One note: ceramic in practice tends to be much more glossy than aluminum when used in bezels.
Great comparison. I own a BB58 black and it is one of my two favorite watches in my collection, along with my 124270. If I were to buy another Tudor, it would be the Pelagos 39 (preferably in blue but the black looks darn good with that semi-ghost bezel and line of red lettering).
9:10 It was lovely seeing all the models together. The BB Pro is my favourite of the bunch.
The P39 is, IMO, the better looking watch. The reason I chose it over the others and the BB58 is that the black dial and bezel doesn’t make the watch look black on the wrist. It changes depending on the light. Keeps it interesting for me!
My black bay pro is on the way I can’t wait it ended being my pick of those four as well

Maybe the reason they done it with 21mm lugs is to keep to their own bracelet and strap options. They do after all supply the watch with an added rubber strap as standard. Plus as it’s technically a dive watch then a leather strap would not work. Just my opinion
21mm lug width is a pain but the watch is living on that bracelet, no question. I just bought a bb58 gilt. I compared vs the bbpro and for me, bb58 is a much more elegant solution, unless you really love that 1655 Rolex vibe and enjoy the extra bulk on wrist
I like the Pelagos, but have too many black faced divers already. I bought the BB pro, it is such a lovely daily wearer and the gmt makes a great traveller - sure, I'd tweak things if I could, but as it stands, it's fantastic.
Okay, so this has p...ed me off! I am talking about the 21mm lug width on a 39mm watch. They (Tudor) messed up my grail by taking their lovely 39mm day date ,tudor glamour with leaf hand set and a black leather strap, then messed it up with a 21mm lug width. WTF. However, as Blake mentioned, Tudor delivered with this piece, it is bland but if you are a fan of Tudor and their history, this is a treat from their archives
In all photos and reviews I love the 39 and can’t wait to get mine. The smiley BB was my adventure and travel watch, but ever since selling it I’m missing that everything watch. I’m hoping this 39 works and looks just as great.

Black Bay should have been the burgundy bezel. But yes, a great collection you can buy new for less than a grey market Sub.
I liked seeing this comparison. I'd love to see the Pelagos 39 in a blue, and especially with a date (I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed). While I do prefer the taper vs. stepped/rivet bracelet, both have their place in the designs. I just want to have Tudor add T-fit all over their Black Bay lines. Come on, Tudor! #tfitallthethings Besides that, I would love to see a revamp of the 41mm BB diver line with a thinner case and T-fit. That and update the stainless BB non-diver line with the same case/movement/t-fit changes they made on the newly released S&G variants, including the 39mm size. Give me a blue dialed stainless Black Bay 39, and I'm all in.

Pelagos 39 is very nice, however next to the BBPRO, the latter looks more "serious".
I tried on the Pro and Pelagos 39 yesterday. The Pro felt great and I had to laugh at how the thickness was a total non-issue to me, it felt just right. The Pelagos felt like a cheap toy in comparison, so light obviously but the bracelet also sounded a bit hollow and rattled.
The naming conventions of Tudor are all wrong… the watches are awesome

My feeling on Tudor vs Rolex is that Tudor has stuck to more tool like watch offerings which is what I prefer from a watch collector perspective. Rolex is beautiful by anyone's account, but the modern Rolex bling factor is a bit off-putting to me at this particular moment in time. Love the P39 but also questions the 21mm lug width and elimination of the chapter ring from the P42.
I’m not sure how to feel about the pro in this line up, it looks the smallest and least interesting. But then I look down at my wrist and it looks amazing. For me not having a date on the P39 is a deal breaker, I would like to see a Matt version with a date. I do miss the rehaut on the 42mm, I wonder if that would work on the 39mm.

I’m sure HQ will get a laugh. Guy is NOT their target demographic for any of their dive/sport watches. AND they throw in a rubber.
I always said a smaller Pelagos would be my perfect watch, but the two points you raised massively annoyed me about this release. Firstly no date, like the original 42 Pelagos, which makes this little more than a BB58 in a different shell, and more, a Pelagos 'lite'
Secondly, like Zach said, Tudor/Rolex need to stop messing around with the lug widths, like how they've done with the new Explorer, these are supposed to be 'tool watches' and therefore utility rich. Stick to the standard 18/20mm lug widths, not 19/21mm. I think this watch would look 'amazing' on a green nato, but where are you going to find a decent quality 21mm nato strap??
Would this stop me buying one... currently undecided, but it definitley makes me consider the BB58 blue.

Everyone wants this watch to be custom made for their taste. I believe Tudor hit this one out of the park; dimensions, design, price point.
Its a modern interpretation of a classic. I love it. Too bad you cant buy anything these days, people are too obsessed.

21mm lugs is a mind boggling decision. Could have made a strap monster at 20mm.

Yes, but Grade 2 scratches tend to oxidize back close to the original color within a few days.
I don’t get this release. The pelagos is supposed to be the heavy diver line.
Make it with 200m WR just misses the whole point. It may just be another blackbay 58 in titanium with a better clasp.
Agreed. Felt the same about the Sub41. The whole watch is less elegant and doesn't wear as nicely in my opinion.
Compared to the previous 40mm Sub? The 41mm Sub is a much better proportion all round. It wears similar but more "rounded" compared to the fat boy.
I need Tudor to give me a date complication and I'm in
4 watches and only 1 with a date. How hard is it to make a date version?

Kenissi doesn't make a small thin date movement. There's no point wishing for one. A 2892 would work beautifully but Tudor isn't going there.
