Hey, this looks fantastic. I like how you matched the grout with the stone and then overgrouted to obscure the lines between the stones and the grout. Do you remember the name of the product of stone you used? I noticed there are grays in there and not just white which really works well

Best way is to use cement board, wire is old technology and makes a weak link where backer board isn't, l brush bonding adhesive to the backer board and stone and use type S stucco/mortar mix ,,

Thank you! Ha! I would be nervous about the mess if this was in our actual kitchen. But it will hardly get any splashes being in our pantry. But that is a very important thing to consider!

Wow, I love the look of it! I wonder about the weight of it, what holds the weight?
These are actually faux rocks, so they are not that heavy at all. Yes, definitely adds weight, but hubs said it would be just fine with the beams supporting our house.
Any idea how much this cost you?

Why wouldn't you remove your drywall first? It seems like you are losing a lot of space when you consider the thickness of this plus drywall.
