Good to see you are able to work together. My father has passed. We built many stone walls together. One thing I do different is I want the stone and the base (even on tile floors) to be DRY. As the base wall (or floor) sucks the moisture out of the mortar it draws the product to the base and sticks better for me. Thanks for the video!
Hi, fantastic job on the wall! I am doing a similar project. An 8' x 8' interior wall. I am torn between dry stacking & mortar lines. What kind of cutting did you have to do, if any, for dry stacking? Thanks
I subscribed. Great job boys. I want to do a stone veneer wall - or maybe two - in the tracking (live) room of my recording studio so I'm boning up on videos and articles. I may avoid the dry stack method though!
@@AnodyneHipsterInfluencer thanks for watching! Haven’t had one stone fall off or even come loose with this method. But mortar in between joints is definitely stronger!
Silly question: But did you put these plates on the wall first instead of working on the wall itself so you can later remove it without damaging the wall?
@@fathersondiygarage3580 ok, thanks. I guessed the mortar would stick to the wall as well since both surfaces are rather smooth. Or maybe I shouldn't compare German walls to American walls. 🙈

Nice job guys! I am looking to put up an stone accent wall in my kitchen for a Tuscany look. Not sure that i am equipped to do this. Great video!
It is easier than you think! This is one of our first stone projects and we love the way it turned out!
Looks wonderful! Great job!! How is the outlet finished so that there is no gap for children's fingers to find? Did you fill gaps with mortar?
You guys are awesome!! Subscribed! Keep posting!
Did you take the time to calculate the pressure produced by the weight of this type wall on your existing structure???

What did you do with the outlet? getting ready to do this type of project and sooo happy I found your post!! VERY HELPFUL!
Some guys use a outlet extension bring outlet flush with wall
Hey guys! Awesome job - Where did you purchase that stone?
I would like to know where to get the stone veneer and it’s name

@@wiikinger76 we put the concrete board on the wall so the mortar has something to stick to.

Is this the same process done for exterior walls? We have stucco and want to add stone accents in the front.
What do you do on the bottom so water and fuel doesn’t get underneath the stone?do you just get it as close as you can to the floor?
We just set the stones as close to the floor as we can. You could also cut the stones nice and flat for a tight fit
What's the brand and the name of the stone product you used?
Dave
what did you do about electrical outlet?
What did you do with the plug cover?

Great team! Sub'd
Did you use a real stone or a faux stone? Any concern with weight on the wall?
Faux veneer stone. No concern with weight. We strapped our concrete board to the wall really good. And we are on a concrete slab foundation.
Where can you find them? I keep seeing panels, but can you buy the stones individually?
How much did this project cost you in total
@@IpresentClips cost about $800

Come on guys, you totally messed this up. That hole for that outlet should have been cut way smaller so the end tabs rest on the new wall.
They make plastic spacers to put behind the screws to bring the outlet out flush with the wall. No problem.
Shut up , it looks good get real ,
So what happens when that outlet needs to be replaced. Spacer or not it's done wrong.
Looks good bit puts ppl in danger. You get real.
