@@Evan_Bell same flavour basically the song is supposed to be Saxon going by the words at the beginning and the saxons were still full Germanic cousins to the Norse from the 400s till the late 700s till they became Christian but they still share blood as all the Germanic tribespeople came from subsequent migrations south by Nordic tribes like the vandals and goths
I absolutely love the lyrics. It's not an overly complicated storyline, but every verse is so full of emotions. I can almost see the ravaged land with the earth dyed crimson and his eyes that go from dull hopelessness to fiery hatread. Just a tiny, tiny bit more and my nostrils would burn from the sickening smell and my ears would ring from the screams drowned in blood, all of it slowly changing into the scent of wet earth and autumn and the whispering of falling leaves.
It's a classic story. Reminiscent of those of the early medieval period. The genre may been predictable and overdone to us today, but it's what our ancestors valued.
First time listening : aye that's some good stuff 27th time listening : *puts on antlers and bone charms* alright time to mix the mushrooms in the mead, I'm speaking with my ancestors tonight
The moment I came across this song, the more I had to listen. And once I found the lyrics, I now sing along. It's so very gutteral. This is something I can create and dream to.

When I hear this song, I imagine it being sung in a Goblin's head as they pull themselves from the dirt after an adventuring party wiped out their entire village. Their filled with rage and pain and regret, but they know they can't just go charging after them or they'll die too. Sleepless nights, hearing the cries of those dead, they know they have to be courageous, but not foolish. Find a sword. Find any survivors. Get together, rebuild, and _plan._ There will come the right time when they can get their revenge. Until then, they'll just have to bear the weight of their failure.
i have listened to this song on loop for probably a total of 4 hours the last two days, needless to say this amazing piece of art has become my new favorite song. I hope to hear more from you all soon!
Same. I've had it on repeat every day since I found it. The lyrics are so invigorating (especially towards the end) and the power behind the melody of the vocals and the relentlessness of the music is so tribally vibey.
It has become my favorite activity lately to boot up Blade and Sorcery, outfit myself with an ulfbert sword, shield and spear, and take on a bunch of enemies while playing this song.
You know what's funny? I discovered this channel through a short of a trollge animation youtuber, with exactly this song playing. Now this band is one of the most unique ones i've ever seen.

I was once at a bonfire where we partook of certain "substances" and danced around a bonfire to the sound of drums. It was a very captivating experience, and this song brings me back to that mindset every time.
This is great. It's like Danheim, Wardruna etc only in English/Anglo Saxon. I like the Woden imagery in the video with the raven helm/head-dress. Can't wait to hear more. Keep it up guys.
The lyrics are spectacular. You don't generally get lyrics in English with this music genre. I really like how it's spoken and mixed with the older language. This is going on my Folk playlist immediately! I'll be looking forward to a full length album from you guys, for sure. 🤘🌱🍂🌳🌲🕸🦉🐾💀

really loving this music. fantastic beat and the vocals really suit the atmosphere. Keep up the good work, cant wait to hear more from you lovely peoples
after listening to the modern shit and now listening to something so raw is really nice it makes me what to sacrifice someone to the dark gods. is this song about a worrier who failed to protect the ons he loves and then told his or her children to move forward and kill for them.
My interpretation is a warrior, who's the sole survivor of an attack on where they live, and they fall into depression, then contemplate suicide, but the spirits of the lost tell them to go and seek revenge on the ones who killed them. But I do find your interpretation interesting.
Having grown up with Lorenna McKennitt and Celtic Woman among others who came later, this is truly amazing. A memento mori piece for sure, and an uplifting one as well towards the end for how foreboding it is. I must ask though, what do your norse lyrics mean? Google is being utterly useless in helping me find the translation for them. I'd love to know to understand the song all the more. If anyone knows the translation do tell, because Google can't understand for shit apparently.

Yeah I absolutely love this song, I listen to it on repeat when driving home, I live in Alaska so this song is perfect for the cold and dark drives. Quick question though, I tried to translate the morbcrundel Swefecere EorPbyrgenn Slumere And it would only translate the last word as slumber and I was curious as to what the rest meant!
We are so pleased that you are enjoying our music 🎶 thankyou ✨️ it truly means alot to us .. your drive home sounds pretty epic 😀 Our lyrics are a mix of English and old Englisc morbcrundel (Barrow/Grave) swefecere (Sleeper) eorbbyrgenn (Earth Burial/Grave) Slumere (Sleeper/Sumberer) ✨️
So each word, has a literal meaning, that can be used to simply describe something, but they also in context can have a more poetic way of coming across, as the word describes a more specific type of grave or sleep than how we would understand those words! Earth Burial, for instance is describing like a sacred burial mound, or a special place for the dead!
It's hard for me to focus on the lyrics of this song, but as I do I realize that dread I feel at the beginning (and honestly throughout) is almost being talked down by the lyrics. I think I misunderstood the assignment. I was supposed to be enjoying some good music but now I’m raiding an English monastery
Same here. Can't say I'm complaining
I'm pretty sure this music is of an English flavour, not Norse.
