This video barely scratches the surface. For Scotland alone there are thousands of great sites. Culzean castle, Eilean Donnan, Glencoe, The fairy pools, Edinburgh castle, St. Andrews, The Wallace monument, Mull of Kintyre(A Beatle thought it was so beautiful he bought a home there and wrote a song about it). As a Scotsman i could wax lyrical as could all others.
You should look at 100 places to see in Scotland its bout 30mins long
England can’t compete with Scotland when it comes to amazing landscapes plus our lochs aren’t polluted or our tap water for that matter.
I am a 74 year Brit and have spent my life visiting some of the great places here in the UK. In the case of Dorset and Cornwall I go there several times a year and have walked, in bite-sized chunks, much of one of the greatest walking routes in the world, namely the 630 mile Southwest Coast path which extends around much of Southwest England and includes all of the Dorset and Cornwall coastlines, which are simply stunning. The video you watched barely scratched the surface of these two wonderful counties let alone the rest of the UK. You have much more to discover. Enjoy.
I love to see the reaction on your face when you see all the coastal sites in this video. I think, we here in the UK, forget that USA is such a vast country and most of you don’t live anywhere near the sea. Here in the UK, it is stated that wherever you reside, you are no more than 80 miles away from the coast.
I have been to Durdle Door in Dorset and also take holidays in Cornwall each year. Kynance Cove is spectacular, but most of Cornwall is too. Holywell Bay is also beautiful and the tv series Poldark was filmed there and surrounding areas. I do hope that one day soon you will be able to come and visit and see for yourself, that London is not the be all and end all of the UK.
Very true - I thought it was 76 miles was the furthest you could be away…I grew up in a town 73 miles from the nearest coast and I thought when I heard the fact, it was only possible to be 3 more miles away anywhere else :)
For me growing up, getting to see the sea when going on holiday was always so exciting - that first glimpse as you round a bend, or crest a hill - now I can wander in my kitchen and see the sea whenever I like :)
Yes but you wouldn't come to the UK and not come to London though. I mean, sure, look at lot of rocks, but if I had to do that, personally I'd rather see the world's biggest diamond in Crown Jewels in William the Bastard's Tower of London. If I had to do waterside, rather than endless cold, windy days with views nothing like that cos its all done by drone and down on the ground - it'll just be really boring - I'd rather see the magnificent Neo Gothic masterpiece that are the Houses of Parliament with the spectacular Pugin interior. While there, the nearby Westminster Abbey, replete with not only the stunning fan vaulting of the Henry VII Lady Chapel, but the serene and beautiful bronze sarcophagus of one of our most sombre - and underrated - kings who commissioned Torrigiano to create it for him in 1510 and which can still be seen there today. A former director of the Victoria and Albert, called it "the finest Renaissance tomb effigy north of the Alps". The nearly 1000 year old Westminster Hall with its remarkable hammerbeam roof, a "modern" addition by Richard II at the end of the 14th Century - a powerful reminder that despite his ordering the beguiling 63foot span (by far the biggest in Europe for nearly half a millennium), he was also deposed there which seemed rather to set the tone since subsequently Anne Boleyn, Cardinal John Fisher, Guy Fawkes and Charles I all had their trials there before meeting their respective grisly ends. Charles, of course, the only king executed in the history of these islands - stepping out as he did on a cold January morning in 1649, of the windows of the Banqueting House in Whitehall, onto a raised stage, wearing an extra shirt so people wouldn't think he was shivering with fear. "I go from a corruptible crown to an incorruptible crown" and his head smitten off with one stroke of the axe. Stand amazed in that same room and gaze up at the only Ruben's ceiling still in its original place in Europe, the masterful and densely allegorical Apotheosis of King James (although so much for the Divine Right of Kings....). By then, you're half way to the National Gallery. Scoot through the tourists in Trafalgar Square, albeit glance up at Lord Nelson still atop his column and go in - you have to book first but it's free entry and what a simply astounding treasure trove awaits you. It houses truly one of the very best collections of painting anywhere on the face of the Earth - I hardly know where to start: Jan van Eyck's Arnolfini Wedding, Holbein's haunting "The Ambassadors", the Wilton Diptych, Bellini's "Mehmet II", van Gogh's "Sunflowers", "The Virgin of the Rocks" Leonardo da Vinci, Boticelli's Venus and Mars, The Haywain by Constable, pictures by Hogarth, Monet, Velasquez, Rousseau, Turner, Titian, Caravaggio and Vermeer. It's too much!!
When you need a break, any one of the extremely authentic restaurants in Chinatown will serve you an excellent lunch. From there it's only a short cab ride to Wren's masterpiece, St Paul's but if you want, there are many Wren churches which are perfect little Baroque gems... any one of the livery companies, the Inns of Court, the Old Bailey, the Savoy, the Guildhall. Trust me, you won't be missing ramshackle beach walks
You can go for such salty windswept marches any time - but who knows if Putin will vaporise the lot this year? See it whole you still can - the countryside will grow back, London won't.

We have some of the most stunning landscapes in the world and of course an ancient history, but don't forget that although the US doesn't have the depth of history, it does have some of the most breathtaking and varied natural beauty on the planet. There are many places over there I would love to visit. Appreciate your appreciation mate. ✌️❤️🇬🇧

The UK is small compared to the US. The US has 11 states that are bigger than the UK but we do have some stunning shorelines and countryside. But there are beautiful areas of the US too
How didn't the video maker mention the Lake District?? Lancashire, Yorkshire, The Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands, Whitby.

I can’t believe the Isle of Wight isn’t on there !?! Especially The needles , Carisbrooke castle , freshwater bay , alum bay cliffs I could go on n on. As an islander im very proud of how beautiful and historic our island is , many dinosaur discoveries were made on our beaches
The UK isn't a vast continent, you can drive from the top to the bottom in 16 hrs. but the varied landscapes are breathtaking. I am fortunate enought to live in the Peak District which is one of the most picturesque areas in the UK. Never stop believing you will one day visit, I am sure you will.

I live in Cornwall which has the largest amount of coastline in the country. My local beach is 15mins away. Youve got the Atlantic north coast with crashing waves, or the calmer south coast… the cliff walks are stunning. You must come to Cornwall… 😊
I live less than an hour from the jurassic coast in dorset. If you ever do get over here you can stay with me and my family. You are such a genuine guy it shows in the content and reactions. I promise you that all the locations are real. Problem is when u live here you think that all we have is normal and not special. But it truly is. We are so lucky and dont always appreciate what we have. Keep doing it bro!!! Craig 😅

I live in south east London near the Kent border and I’m within an hours drive of 6 castles that you can visit. I love being British. I traveled in my youth but since then have never left Britain. After 35 year I’ve still got places to go visit that I haven’t been to yet.
Yes there are lots of natural wonders to be seen in the UK, not listed in this video, but we even have Giant Redwood Trees , YES like those in the West of the USA, maybe not as old as those in the USA, but we still have them. We still have Neolithic Ruins like Stonehenge, Roman Ruins, Hadrians Wall and Colchester Castle and lots of Castles and Old Medieval Villages, Castles galore as well as countless Cathedrals that would rival those in your Bible Belt, paid for by your Churchs Congregations. There are towns and villages that date back Centuries and so much History, I would estimate it would take you a few visits to just see the Main Points, London with its Memorial to the Great Fire of London, The Tower of London (Built in the late 1060s) and so many more places even myself have not yet visited and I am 67 yrs old. In my Hikes I have walked the Coast to Coast Hike 180 mile in 10 days, The very first Long Distance Hike The Pennine Way 360 miles, 16 days and what I would guess the Longest Hike possible in the UK, the Coastlike Hike. Start where every you want and walk ALL the way round the complete Coastline of the Mainland mass, ie the complete coastline of Scotland, England and Wales. If sailing is more your passion there are countless Lakes, Canals and rivers to navigate with either sailing boats or motor Cruisers. We may be a small country compared to the USA but we cram a lot into this smallish Island. Only 1 Poisenous Snake that would rather get out of your way than bite you, Birds of Prey, Larger Animals in the more remotes spots and of course plenty of Zoos to visit to see Lions, Tigers and Bears, should you wish to see them. Finally if it is you wish to see the site of construction of the Mayflower that took the Original Settlers from the UK and near Continent I can tell you its location and unlike most history books that list its construction site as Boston, Lincolnshire or Plymouth Devon it is South Killingholme Haven, in what was once Lincolnshire but now due to boundry change South Humberside on the East Coast of England.
I would avoid English lakes & rivers as around 80% are polluted from raw sewage whereas in Scotland it’s only 18 % . There’s actually an outbreak in England right now there tap water is contaminated with animal poo 💩
As an East Anglian I suggest you look at places like Southwold, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness all on the Suffolk coast. Very different to places in the video but equally beautiful in their own way
Suffolk here! Yes, Southwold is unique with the attractions on the pier, Aldeburgh not my cup 'o tea...Thorpness, with the Mere made by the man who wrote "Peter Pan" Jewel of the crown for me is Sutton Hoo...where the famous ship burial of an ancient King was discovered with all his treasures intact!....Or try the 1,000 year old Abbey Gardens, in bury St. Edmunds, .....

These places are lovely and show you the real UK. People only think of London but we have so many amazing places. I live in a village in central England and would never move to a city.
I live a couple of miles from Dunottar Castle - there are some awesome coastal views along here.

I once walked up Slieve Donald (tallest mountain in Northern Ireland)to see amazing views far around
I lived for 24 years in Ripon on the edge of Nidderdale a small yet hosting an outstanding cathedral, a race course, a marina and 3 rivers. My husbands stairway walk was 2 miles cross country to Studley Park Royal adjoining the world's heritage site Fountains Abbey. The whole Dale's region is beautiful. Ripon is only about 30 miles from York which is one ofvthe best places to visit in Britain.
There is so much to see and most are only a short train ride away or a long drive that’s just a snapshot of what is on offer in the U.K.
The perfect artists impression, Scotland is Gods country and may have been the garden of Eden.

I know the US has only one castle, since before your founding, castles became sort of obsolete [apart from being residences].
America is a very big country compared to us here in the UK, BUT you have just as many [if not many more] interesting and beautiful places [wildlife/coastlines] to see and visit.
Another country you should also visit/review is Germany [with it's castles in Bavaria/along the river Rhine etc.]. A bit of a bias as I was born in Germany and had a German mother and have an English father [so love both lands]. lol
That was a very beautifully shot video, with some of our most 'dramatic' (mainly coastal) places. There are a lot of very different but equally beautiful inland places I hope you get to watch videos of some of those too.
There is one glaring error in this video, Downpatrick Head is NOT in Northern Ireland, it is in County Mayo in the Irish Republic, which is NOT part of the UK, the video even shows the wartime "Eire" (meaning Irish Republic) clifftop marking, how he came to make this mistake is beyond me! (I live a few miles away from there in Northern Ireland)
His narration was pretty horrendous all round. I got the impression he wasn't that bright.

The British Isles certainly has some of the most beautiful natural places on the Planet, especially for a set of small islands. The difference in scenery from various areas of it can be very different. If castles are your thing, England has 4000 castles lol & they're also in other areas of these wonderful isles. Much history & much beauty, that's Our home islands. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

I started watching and the first place is “just down the road” from me (in American distances). Then another just up the road in the other direction in Dorset too :)
There are loads of great coast spots in Cornwall and Devon if you do get down this way. If you want to check out castles while in the UK, my recommendation would be to check examples of them in different states of repair - so Make sure you check out Tintagel in Cornwall, somewhere like Caernarfon in Wales, Warwick castle in the midlands, and then Windsor castle to see what a current, living, royal castle is like today. There are lots of other examples from one extreme to the other, but of the many I’ve visited, I think those are good examples.
For coastline - I think the west coast tends to always be better than the east - Cornwall, bits of Wales, and Scotland being probably the best bits.
It’s certainly easy to get around and visit good examples from the length of the British mainland at least in 2 weeks too.
It’s great seeing our country through the excitement it brings you as living here, even with a view of the sea from my kitchen window, it gets easy to take for granted just how beautiful it is in so many places.
It is a beautiful place our old Isles, lots to see and do ,Cornwall is one of my favourite places it has some stunning coastline and pockets of picturesque fishing villages . Lots of old stuff 🙂

Seeing your enthusiasm to visit our shores is akin to seeing a kid get locked in a candy store. Your appreciation of what we have to offer is greatly appreciated, my advice is to research where you wish to visit as most holidays ( vacations) are at most for two weeks and in that time you will hardly have time to scratch the surface of what we have to offer. Sadly many visitors especially Americans think the U.K is London and never venture out, they see nothing. The Glenfinnan Viaduct ( of Harry Potter Fame ) is very real my wife and myself crossed it last year, but the view from the train is very limited you have to be on the ground looking up to take it in. Most if not all what was shown is within 8 hours for me, but like a lot of other Brits we can’t be bothered to make the effort to visit them and would sooner take a three hour plane journey to Spain for guaranteed sunshine. You would be most welcome and not be disappointed unlike a a review I read yesterday from a young American who stated that basically we are are pissed out of our head all the while as there’s nothing else to do, you seem to have more about you. London is okay for a day trip but very expensive if you stay there, hope you get to make it over here.🏴🇬🇧.

If you want gorgeous beaches and castles you should head to Northumberland. It is on the North Sea so can be cold but the upside the beaches are deserted. The castle on Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is the cutest I have ever seen. Of course a visit to Northumberland wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Roman fort at Housesteads on Hadrian's Wall. Hope you fulfill your dream of coming to the UK. 🇬🇧

I've just moved to the North Wales coast, and most of it is truly stunning, but the UK is full of beautiful places. An American friend told me that it would take him longer to cross the state of Texas than it would take me to travel from the very north of Scotland (John O' Groats) to the very south of England (Land's End). But whilst we're small compared to the US, I think I'm right in saying no one in the UK is more than 75 miles from an ocean. Enjoyed your reaction - I really hope you get to visit our country soon. I think Bamburgh is the most stunningly sited castle in Britain. It is like a great sea bird on its massive rock. What a fortress it is!!!

Right I might be biased but Scotland needs a video of its own . Whither it’s our isles or the mainland it’s all out of this world & we have the cleanest beaches in the Uk & the best drinking water straight from the tap it’s actually better than bottled water .

I’m biased but I will take all of them and raise you the north Norfolk coast
I've always felt so lucky to live on the British isles. We literally have every type of landscape, except jungle, in the smallest of spaces possible.
Our history is insane because everybody has invaded us and stamped their mark and you can't move for bloody castles🤣 We go for a casual walk round one down the road at Pevensey all the time.
I think, because we're so submerged in it all, we really do take it for granted a lot of the time but I'll never tire of driving over the South Downs and seeing the Cuckmere Valley and that serpentine river winding to the sea. Gets me every time.
I wonder why so many castles were built? Ignorant American question Beth, why are their so many castles?
@@SimplySavageReactions because of the invasions. The Romans built quite a few on the south coast and, I believe the Welsh and Scottish borders. Then William the Conqueror came over from Normandy in 1066 and he built loads more castles and the Tower of London. The castles have been used right up until the second world war. They're pretty amazing. We've also got the Martello Towers on the South coast that were built during the Napoleonic wars to guard against invasion. There's one in my town that is a museum but people live in them and all sorts.

I really loved this video as his cinematography was amazing and choices of music perfect. At time you looked like the breathtaking beauty was going to make you cry and i don't blame you. A good portion of us Brits are very lazy. We have this stuff that we can get too, but dont. Hoping on a plane to Spain or Greece is easy. getting to some of these takes a bit more effort and planning. I was a travel agent and have seen a lot of the world. I am determind now to stay more in this country and see some of these magical places. I really hope you do get to come and contact me if you intend to as more than willing to be a guide were I can.

I find the issue americans have when visiting the Uk is they often have limited vacation time and want to do so much its impossible t fit it all in. planning is ey and I'd be more than happy to help with that. Fabulous coastal views
Most of us want to get away abroad for warmth and sunshine but we really should explore our own countries too.
Back in my youth I was a member of the British Sub Aqua Club, Durdle Door was a regular dive spot for us. You used to reach the beach via a steep rocky path. Easy enough on the was down but hard work at the end of the day climbing back up carrying your dive cylinder, weight belt and everything eslse lol. Wish I was fit enough to go there again.

East Devon is stunning, especially heading towards the Dorset border, and beyond into Lyme Regis... well worth a visit!
James, I was born in Plymouth, Devon but moved to the northwest of England when I was aged 6 and have lived in East Lancashire for the past 26 years or so - the difference between the two is all too apparent because Plymouth is on the southwest coast whereas you can't really get more inland than where I currently live. That being said I have relatively easy access to Cumbria where the Lake District's located so I could easily travel there if I wanted to.
It makes a pleasant change to see Cornwall, Devon, Dorset etc even mentioned in travel videos like this one - we refer to that part of England as the West Country even though it's located in the extreme southwest. That part of the country is often overlooked and ignored by far too many of these video makers. While I hate to say this, a lot of American producers of these same videos always concentrate on all of the touristy parts of the U.K. and, quite frankly, their videos tend to be extremely boring especially when they concentrate on London, the Home Counties and places like Stonehenge - they need to stop trying to appeal to their fellow Americans by doing this because they're ignoring the rest of the U.K. The gent that narrated this excellent video didn't do this and judging by his accent he's obviously British therefore his observations are a lot more genuine and realistic, aren't they?
The truth of the matter is that we Brits tend to take all of these beautiful places within our own country for granted and we all know that we can go and visit them whenever we choose to. The funniest part about it is that more often than not a lot of us Brits go on holiday abroad especially to places like Spain, Greece etc and then get upset when we have to return to the U.K. Personally speaking I don't currently hold a passport and even if I did I wouldn't fly anywhere - my own philosophy is that if humans were meant to fly then we'd all be born with plumage, wouldn't we? This obviously means that my only option is to stay in Great Britain or to travel to Northern Ireland by ferry although as I have family members still living in Plymouth I'd have no problem when it comes to visiting that particularly beautiful part of England, would I?
The only word of advice I can give to you is that if you ever manage to get to this side of the 'Pond' you and your family should fly into Manchester rather than London....that's a purely practical and financial thing because most of us outside of the capital know that it's a darn sight cheaper for you to do that and you'd still have just as much access to the whole country as you would if you stayed in London and the southeast of England. Whatever your future travel plans good luck with them. ✌😎✌🇬🇧🇺🇸

Another great vid. If you do make it to the UK please allow plenty of time to visit and enjoy some of those places and so much more. The British Isles may be small by North American standards but as you have discovered there is a huge amount to see so don't try a National Lampoon style vacation, you'll get so much more out of your trip not rushing around trying to pack everything in.
If you travel from the island of Jersey near the coast of France to the northern Scottish Isles of Shetland that's almost 1000 miles so it's not tiny!

Tenby is NOT the best place in Wales, there is so much more, North Wales is definitely more stunning than Tenby. Also can't seem to go anywhere in Wales without falling over a castle 🤣

I'm from Scotland but my most favourite place in Britain is Port Mirion in Wales, I spent 1 day there but could stay for a summer it was great .
Around Tenby it’s gorgeous. One of the best beaches in Britain is a couple of miles to the west, Barafundle Bay.

That Dorset Jurassic coast extends for miles and is famous for fossils and marine dinosaur bones and skeletons coming out of the cliffs. Check out Lyme Regis. In the UK these places are only a few hundred miles from each other although road traffic in the summer months can be a nightmare.

I live on the Jurassic coast on Portland it’s beautiful but my favourite place is the new forest in next door Hampshire. It’s definitely a place for anyone to visit but don’t touch the ponies.

Used to go on Geology field trips to Durdle Door to collected minerals and fossils when I was at school, some 40 yrs ago, lovely place. :)

Nowhere in the UK is more than 75miles from the sea!
Only problem is most castles in Aberdeenshire is most are ruins. Northumberland is good for castles, especially Bamburgh Castle which is HUGE, Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island, Alnwick Castle, DunstanburghbCastle.
Still worth visiting regardless. You’re standing on earth where history is in abundance

Stop emoting. Do a cut price tour of sites, whatever, go back, think about it, then come back. We love you! (Oh, and if you do Kenilworth Castle, bear in mind I fell into the (thankfully dry) moat while blind drunk as a student, but that's as far as I'm going to go...)
