Miyako is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She has been classically trained on the piano since the age of 3. Miyako also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). The piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary "Étude". The piano backing track in the chorus is necessary for the completeness of the song and was pre-recorded by Miyako. As talented as she is, even she can't play both the guitar and piano at the same time while LIVE on stage (she actually DID in a different LIVE performance but that's another story). the backing teacks exist because (as you see) the piano and the guitar are played by the same person.........when the piano is in the song it's good to be there like backing track so it sounds like it really is.........and I don't think that they have to get another person to play 20 notes on the piano in one song for the whole concert.......
I consider Swan Song to be one of Miyako's five (so far) masterpieces, and it remains my favorite Lovebites song. I read one of the commenters express a dislike for classical music. That is a shame. Probably 20% of my music collection is classical even though I am primarily a fan of hard rock and metal. Simply put, great music is great music. I am excited about the upcoming new EP from Lovebites. Because of the timing, I might very well get to experience the live debut of a Lovebites song at ProgPower.
Thank you for the reference to Renaissance. A truly great band which has sadly been long neglected. I saw them live, twice, and they were wonderful. For your viewers less familiar with Classical: Chopin was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. "Etude" is French for "study". Chopin's Etudes were written as "studies", or lessons, for his students. They ended up being popular things for professional pianists to play as part of their concerts, in part to show off their skills. This is one of the more famous ones and is considered one of the most difficult ones. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as the intro, but it’s not normally included in their shows.
Thanks for your reaction. 'Etude Op.10, No.12' ( or 'Revolutionary Etude') by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. 'Swan Song' ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album 'Electric Pentagram' (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which Swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of Swans is amazingly beautiful. 'Etude' by F. Chopin and 'Swan Song' are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, 'Etude' and 'Swan Song' are played together. In an interview given after the release of the 'Electric Pentagram' Album, singer Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky 'Swan Lake'. During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Since the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured in the shot. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurais and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurais and Vikings, death in combat with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Valhalla (Hall of warriors killed in battles) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who fought bravely and died in arms. * LOVEBITES adds backing tracks to live performances (piano, keyboards, synthesizer, acoustic guitars, backing vocals). They pre-record these parts for concerts. You highlighted that, for example, Miyako switches from piano to guitar and back. When she plays the guitar, the piano backing track also plays. There are two options: 1. Miyako pre-records a piano part for the backing track; 2. You can hire more musicians (support) for concerts. Hiring additional musicians for concerts is an additional financial cost.. From a business point of view (label, management), this costs much more, especially when the band Tours to different cities or different countries. Today is the first concert of LOVEBITES (London, UK), with which the band's First World Tour begins! LOVEBITES and their team (Label, management) prefer a more economical option. Right, I agree with you. Backing traks expand possibility. It's just like hiring extra supporting musicians or playing with orchestra. If it is denied, Beatles, Queen, and 80 to 90% of rock bands wouldn't exist. I'm happy with more epic and rich souds with backing tracks than simple sounds of strictly original players. If backing tracks are not good, all the engineering in recording must be denied and electronic effects as well. Singers should sing without michrophones and all the instruments must be acoustic. Backing track is fair effect and fair engineering.
Funny. I just recently revisited "Scheherazade" by Renaissance and thought that I would like to hear Lovebite's take on it. They'd probably play the entire original LP side in six minutes and make it much heavier.
Miyako, like her band-mates is a beast, actually a music savant. Her brain makes her a mother, gear nerd (her YT channel is a gear nerd dream), a Star Wars nerd, a pianist, a self taught guitarist, has made an EP of 6 metal songs she converted to classic pieces, and composes and arranges many of the bands songs. She likely was composing another song while performing this on stage. While this was an epic masterpiece of composition, her band-mates performed it LIVE perfectly so that is where the insane talent lies. Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites. Some times they use backing tracks in order to provide a better music experience and definitely it’s not a bad thing. My next recommendation is “Liar”, live.
Just imagine how hard it is to play perfectly with the track, especially Haruna the drummer. Miyako believes Metal and Classical music are very related. Her savant brain was likely composing a Thrash track while playing this,..LOL. Lest we forget while a genius she has band mates who can play all these complicated pieces especially LIVE. There no band out there that this level of insane talent on every instrument.
A masterpiece. I wonder how many musicians on the planet could do what we just saw Miyako do? Until Miyako grows two more arms, she won't be able to play the piano and the guitar at the same time, so the tracks are needed. Having said that, here is a time-stamped video of Miyako playing BOTH a guitar and keyboard AT THE SAME TIME. ua-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=s-cream-s&t=194s
All bands you react to frequently use backing tracks (The Warning, Band-Maid, Rush). What they all have in common is that these tracks, mainly keyboard, piano, additional backing vocals, sometimes another guitar layer, are played by themselves when recorded, except huge orchestral or choir parts. For „small“ bands like LOVEBITES it‘s also a question of the financial budget. Miyako would love to perform Swan Song with a full orchestra and choir behind them. But I guess for that they‘ve got to become at least 10 times bigger (in terms of popularity, venue sizes, …) Only the issue to play piano and guitar at the same time couldn’t be solved with this. For LOVEBITES present world tour the stages are tiny and also for logistical reasons, Haruna’s second bass drum, Miyako’s keys, and several guitars and other gear are not with them. Their technical staff is just one guy. They have 30k listeners on Spotify like some local bands in your town. This bigger production you see on UA-cam the have for the DVD recording but it‘s not usual for their shows.
Miako is a genius. The fact that the other members of the band are also the e... well. Those. Midori! Miho! (too bad he quit) Haruna! Asami! They are amazing. :)

This is one band I've been sufficiently impressed by to check out some of their other stuff. I like the emphasis they put on melody. That said, I didn't like this one so much. I don't care much for classical piano, or classical music in general, so it's not for me. I don't like the use of backing tracks, it makes me question just how much of what I'm hearing is live, but at least they made no pretence at hiding it. They still look like like a good band overall.
The piano backing track in the chorus is necessary for the completeness of this song. The lead guitarist/pianist (Miyako) pre-recorded that track because she can't play the guitar and piano at the same time.
@@boyzyu I understand that, but I would rather hear an incomplete track that sounds nothing like the original recording, than something relying so heavily on a pre-recorded backing. It's just a matter of preference and I usually prefer live music that's a bit looser and more improvised.
This song is based on the Chopin "Revolutionary etude". The backing tracks is "Ocean etude", that was replayed at the end by Miyako with the mix with Dvorak theme of "Symphony from New World" and all of this Opera is about the Classic theme of the Death's swan (classic ballet Swan's lake). There are all romantic themes and all of there have a sense if are mixed!
@@boyzyu Miyako in this case can't play both the instruments, but in "Burden of time" she do it! The Ocean is one Chopin etude that represents the passing of time, but back and forth, like the swan among the water lilies. You can see Asami at the beginning that walk like the swan on the stage!

LOVEBITES for the Label and management is, first of all, a business that must make a profit. In order for the Label to have money to pay all taxes, pay money to the band and the entire team for their work, which helps the functioning of the band ( management, roadies, etc). Could pay on time interest on bank loans taken for promotion, bands, album production (from work in a Japanese recording studio, to mixing and mastering in Finland; to factories for printing discs, to designers for album covers, etc.). It is necessary to pay lawyers, especially when LOVEBITES and his team travel to other countries (different laws, different taxation systems, processing work visas, etc.). Transport costs, cargo (equipment) insurance. And much more.
Unfortunately, many LOVEBITES fans don't know or don't want to consider this side of the music business. For this reason, they often unfairly (this is my opinion) criticize the team and the Label. II respect these fans, but sometimes I don't understand them! They love LOVEBITES and want these ladies to give concerts in huge halls and stadiums, including in the West. But, unfortunately, our desires do not always coincide with real possibilities. I have tried several times to evaluate and analyze the Label's strategy and tactics for promoting LOVEBITES, including to the West. Since the release of the first EP (2017). My opinion: The Label and team have done and are doing everything possible. They build their strategy very competently. Management takes reality into account.
You, unlike some fans, understand everything well. 👍Thank you!🙏😊

the backing teacks exist because (as you see) the piano and the guitar are played by the same person.........when the piano is in the song it's good to be there like backing track so it sounds like it really is.........and I don't think that they have to get another person to play 20 notes on the piano in one song for the whole concert.......
For “Swan Song” , Maestro Miyako used elements of two of her favorite classics: Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak’s “New World Symphony” 🤘
What style of metal do you play?
Lovebites: Chopin!
🤘🐺
Thanks for reacting to Lovebites!!!
Behold, the power of Miyako!❤
Love Lovebites 🏴 🤘 🐺
There are two options:
1. Miyako pre-records a piano part for the backing track;
Besides music, it's also business. Especially when the band cannot afford (not yet) such financial costs as many European and American bands due to objective reasons.
Mesmerizing performance! Haruna back there is so fun to watch! 🤘🎹🎸🥁
Please follow Miyako on her youtube channel - she's bussy with a multipart series how she create a song - it blow your mind that this girl understand every instrument there is ! Love your channel 🤘🐺🇿🇦🤘
Masterpiece.
You're doing a great service to expose #Lovebites and other bands to new fans. Their European dates are selling out so as a further service to the Band, here are their 2024 upcoming US Tour dates and locations:
Sept 8 The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas, TX
Sept 10 Echoplex - Los Angeles, CA
Sept 12 Café Du Nord - San Francisco, CA
🤟🏻🔥Lovebites🐺Masterclass🔥🤘🏻
Gracias por la reacción a mi banda favorita👍🏻
YOU MENTIONED TARKUS IS EIP THEIR FIRST ALBUM ...LUV IT AND I LOVE THIS SONG WITH MIKAKU PLAYING CHOPIN ON PIANO SUCH A SWAN SONG
これは壮大なメタル・オペラで、彼らの特異なジャンルだ。 進化であり革命だ。
Miyako, like her band-mates is a beast, actually a music savant. Her brain makes her a mother, gear nerd (her YT channel is a gear nerd dream), a Star Wars nerd, a pianist, a self taught guitarist, has made an EP of 6 metal songs she converted to classic pieces, and composes and arranges many of the bands songs. She likely was composing another song while performing this on stage. While this was an epic masterpiece of composition, her band-mates performed it LIVE perfectly so that is where the insane talent lies. Check out Frozen Serenade LIVE for piano, acoustic guitar and ballet dance steps ua-cam.com/video/sEjN7dAh4ok/v-deo.html If you liked this, well you will equally love that.
You know the band's ELITE when they open with a Chopin piece. Like many have said, Miyako is one of a kind. These ladies are absolutely legit musicians. You need to do Thunder Vengeance official live video from 2020 ua-cam.com/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/v-deo.htmlsi=HUTfnAcFvL8wp1t-. It was the show opener and the intro is EPIC. Gives me early 80s Metallica live show vibes, and the riffs are to die for! Keep it going guys...loving the reactions! So many great songs to go...all of them! 🤘
Haruna killed it on those drums, OMG !
The reason Miyako is called the golden Touch she knows what goes where
A masterpiece.
But I guess for that they‘ve got to become at least 10 times bigger (in terms of popularity, venue sizes, …)
Only the issue to play piano and guitar at the same time couldn’t be solved with this.
Yep!👍
Miako is a genius.
The fact that the other members of the band are also the e... well. Those.
Midori! Miho! (too bad he quit) Haruna! Asami!
They are amazing. :)
Everybody forgot to say a word about the drummer?
Well, if this reminded you of Prologue, you shoul check oit LOVEBITES' song Epilogue
😁🤘🥰

IM HUGE ELP FAN ....FOR TARKUS GREAT ALBUM
14/6/2024 in London
Of course, Miyako can't play piano and guitar at the same time, so one of the instruments have to a backing track.
😅Sometimes she can.

Thanks for that now how about this for a young girl where do they get the talent French girl Tina S 16 or 17 yr old here doing a guitar Cover of Ludwig van Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata ( 3rd Movement ) ua-cam.com/video/o6rBK0BqL2w/v-deo.html p/s Also covering solos of heavy metal from Van Halen, Gary Moore, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Pink Floyd, and metalised classical music including pieces from Beethoven, Paganini, and Vivaldi.
@@delorangeade You have missed the band, Lovebites aren't for You. They are just the opposite!
better then a prolapse ihihiiiiiihi
