Landscape Institute members EGM on 27th June 2023

After two financial crises in one decade, each followed by the departure of a CEO, the Landscape Institute commissioned an Independent Review of its activities. This was a very good move and the review supported many of the points made by members after the first financial crisis.
A key recommendation of the 2021 Independent Review was to create ’A truly member-led organisation’ by
launching a change programme, with clear CEO and Board sponsorship, and
enabling the membership to contribute more effectively.
Has this been done? No. Quite the reverse.
When the Board and Council decided, in 2022, to remove the democratically elected President of the Landscape Institute:
it was done in absolute secrecy
the Board minutes at which the issue was discussed have not been published
repeated requests from six past presidents to meet the Board have been rejected
three requisitions for a General Meeting from a large group of members were opposed for spurious reasons
