I attended Easington Primary School and had to cross that bridge twice a day, to and from. I lived in Norris. Back in the day, they used to scrape it and paint it a shiny silver metallic color. The walkway was covered with solid board, and there were no cracks to fall through. It used to be properly maintained. The river used to be very swift, with a deep hole right by the poinciana tree on the east side. Kids (not me) used to climb the tree and jump into the deep hole. Now when I go home I am scared to drive on it!
Yes. My aim with this channel is to highlight all the good in the parish, but also show the things we need. ST. THOMAS is my home. Thanks for watching. Remember to share.
Thanks for sharing info on the Easington Bridge! It surely brought back memories when my Family lived in Easington. My Dad had the only shop there in the 1930s and he would sometimes walk to the bridge to board the bus to Kingston as he did not have a car at that time. I also remember him riding his bicycle over that bridge to visit relatives who had a shop in Yallahs. Thanks again!!💕👍
Impressive to see such GREAT interest in highlighting the CONDITIONs of a bridge that should have never fell in such poor state up to this point December 2020. I DECLARES THAT The Easington Bridge in Easington, Llandewey St. Thomas Jamaica be fully repaired and legislation put in place by the Jamaican parliament or whatever that is there already in terms of LAW and useful be fully active and effective to ENSURES it's longevity, due to the great purposes it serves daily. I WANT to see a piece on the CANALS (water ways for FARMERS in the Norris, Heart ease areas ect THANKS) One UNIA love. GB
I remember crossing yahllas fording in a minivan when it flooded.the minivan didn’t want to drive through easington,Norris and heartease cause that added over half an hour to the journey.I remember easington bridge.I use to cross it every Saturday to attend the woodbourn seventh day church.when I was small I use to be scared to cross the bridge caused it seemed to be so high
I have always been afraid of that bridge. I used to walk across it as a child. Drove across it yesterday and I am still very cautious. It has gaping holes and is noisy.
A few years ago I attempted to cross Ramble Bridge, thinking of making a circle through Cedar Valley, back down through Seaforth and head back to Yallahs. Suffice it to say, I hitched a reverse when I saw the state of that one. But, St. Thomas is such a beautiful parish though, with beautiful people....
This is a terrible bridge and and never got fixed it is scary to even look at it. I’m so glad progress is being made. My neck of the woods. I wanna go visit again
@@CNJJamaica my dad built the church on the right down the street from the bridge, he had a 4yr project. We lived there but our home was in Kingston, didn't they build a newer bridge?

So true
That bridge is still in use in bath st Thomas?
St Thomas is really the forgotten parish in Jamaica..
I highlight so that change can occur. We are not forgotten, but a work in progress.
@@CNJJamaica for too long we been forgotten..
Just look at the roads and bridges..
