Whoa! What a day! The Musky gods were smiling on you, especially with that substandard net job on the first fish. Fortunately, you weren’t using a big crank bait with hooks hanging .....that fish would have come off for sure. Proper netting is all about reading the fish and timing the stab. Great video; I don’t know how you have the presence of mind to adjust that front camera as you passed by, but it was a perfect move! Super nice catches, very inspirational. Thank you.
My muskie video was my first and only muskie trip, and we ended up catching 2 within minutes of each other. I really couldn't believe it. They weren't 50" though! Great video!
First fish I think was heavier and bigger head, to my eye at least. Second fish I think was prettier with the spotted sides. Congrats!! Taco Bell?? A two fish day like that deserves a good snort of whiskey, at least!!
Curious why musky anglers don’t care more about the weight of a fish rather than just the length? Why not take a girth measurement and calculate with formula..
Joshua Grams Good question! It’s because those other measurements take extra time and they are more concerned about getting a fish of that quality back into the water. Plenty of people will get a girth for the weight calculation but it’s best to do that while the fish is still in the net. Hope that helps man!
Worst net job ever, letting yourself get over excited when fighting the fish , straight pointing the rod is a sure way for ripping out hooks! It takes practise keeping the right angles!
I died laughing when Robbie said "Almost 52, 53 3/4" lol Love the excitement man.
They stayed hooked for robbie that day!
Chris Bulaw, yup and when it counted most!
CHRIS try to get some hardwater lake trout this winter!!
The one I botched the net job on stayed hooked for Mr. Phelps.
